BlueFalconFeb 6, 2005I like this game. Yes, it's a little repetitive but the core gameplay is solid and very playable. It's like you're in the movie Aliens, wandering around a dark futuristic maze with scary aliens hunting you. It plays similar to 2d Contra, but with the focus on escaping the maze, instead of just moving forward.

Aug 4, 2014Blowout is a pretty decent side-scroller shooter. While all you do in this game is kill aliens, open blast doors, get keys and such and such. I quite liked this game. The graphics may be outdated and the music is horrible, but the gameplay is pretty good in this game. And this game dosen't have that much of a story.
So 6 out of 10 for me.

Xbox Nation MagazineBlowout's dialogue and overall production value are sufficiently self-aware so that they're oddly amusing. [Mar 2004, p.98]

AceGamezFor the budget price, Blowout isn't a bad game, as it follows the rules of its genre very closely and, while offering little in the way of innovation, does at least feel like someone cared when they made it.

Factor in the lack of two-player action and all that's left is a tepid experience.
