While there's nothing here that would warrant picking up this version if you already own the PlayStation 2 or GameCube editions, the Xbox version slightly edges out its brothers.
-
The gameplay as a whole is lethargic and inaccurate.
-
Overall it shines brilliantly compared to other titles of its franchise, but still falls short in some areas, mainly having to do with gameplay.
-
Game InformerIt doesnt correct any of the mistakes made by its PS2 predecessor. [Feb 2002, p.92]
-
The 3D visual and audio style is topnotch, and the cinemas are a blasteven if some camera views are awkward and some areas are a little too dark and muddy.
-
If you can look past its denounceable play control then you will find a smart, stylish, Batman experience that is, at its foundation, true to its namesake.
-
If youre looking for something to remind you why you spent £300 on a brand-new console, stay away.
-
With the power that the XBox seems to be able to produce in the visual sense, you'll find that most of what is here is completely clean of the jagged edges, but it still fails to keep up in the detailing department!
-
Xbox Nation MagazineThe difficulty is amped up in the latter stages by a maddening focus on precision moves and platform jumps. [Spring 2002, p.92]
