Wanted: Dead is a mess of a game with hints of excellence strewn about. I wanted to love it a lot more than I did. Instead the game kept making me frustrated at every turn. There have been a million examples of how to make a challenging game without making it frustrating. Wanted: Dead is the epitome of the latter. It simply uses lazy tropes instead of clever game play to create its difficulty. The end result is a game that has some great ideas, but will not interest most players. I expect most to quit before finishing the first boss.

Less time spent on the needlessly long cutscenes and in-between mission sections, and more on the feel of the combat and we could have had a little gem on our hands. As it is, this only gets a recommendation for those willing to suffer for their entertainment.

Wanted: Dead is an incredibly disappointing action effort that presents some decent ideas but fails to execute any of them properly. The idea of fusing hack and slash combat with shooter mechanics has lots of potential here, and the cyberpunk setting is initially intriguing. However, in practice it's all very clunky and janky and frustrating and beset by performance issues. There's a bunch of odd side activities thrown in to try to lighten the mood between battles, but it's just not enough in the end. With a very weak narrative, poor voice-acting, rubbish action and drab level design, this is one game that's best avoided.

It is important to highlight that Wanted Dead offers an old-fashioned experience on every aspect. The shooter part of the game is not very well done, unlike the hand-to-hand aspect which is much more qualitative. In many ways, you can feel the lack of balance between next-gen and old-school games and that the development had to meet certain specifications, which absolutely failed to seduce us. Be warned that Wanted Dead proposes an experience for gamers whose credo is retro gaming. If you are a nostalgic of the Dreamcast, PS2 and Xbox era, go for it, otherwise it might be painful.

Wanted Dead is justDont insult the Ps2 and Xbox era of game by realting it to this trash. Good games from that era were ballanced and finish. Wanted Dead is just budget shovelware. This is a half finished unbalanced mess. It more of a beta test than a game...This game flopped financialy and criticaly but this studio also needs to be shut down, a product this bad should not hit the market. There are many moments in this game where the whole screen is white from a flash or explosion and when your finally able to see wtf is going on your health has gone from 100 to zero and you have no idea wtf happend...This could have been a fun hack and slash game but the ridiculas difficulty mixed with awkward controls just makes for an expensive short game that you will drop out of frustration. This studio dosent have the skill or prestige to be making a game thuis cheap/ hard.
There is an insulting Neko mode that makes the game slightly easier. But these devs can get lost , insulting the player for having problems progressing in their cheap, broken , badly ballanced game...A game that deserves the failure in sales it got.

I think some reviewers from official sites did not do their homework very well. Some say.....it looks like a game from the PS2 era. Yes thats what the dev's said about Wanted Dead its a live letter too those games out off the era. It take practice and high learning curve and understand the mechanics of the game. I believe most reviewers did not take the time or get not get the hang off it. Sure its not a gane every one would like or can appreciate what the game stands for. Old school hard core gamers will appreciate this concept more. And offcourse there are some negative things. The ai off your teammates is not that great and sometimes the camera view is off pass. If u want a lot of hack and slash fun and dont mind the learning curve u gonna like this game with a lot of variaty in finishing moves. I give this game a 7+ Full Review »

The current state of videogame development is at an all time low it's so sad. If your tired of all these mediocre AAA abortions and if you like old school hack n slash games from the late 90s then pick this up. The combat is so much fun! It's like a mixture of Lollypop Chainsaw, Wet, and Ninja Gaiden. Honestly it's the funnest time I've had in years playing a videogame game because it actually feels like one! 8.5 out of 10.
