Jul 1, 2025The top-down visuals give TRON: Catalyst an old-fashioned feel, which seems appropriate for the Tron Universe. I found the storytelling in this game to be intriguing and full of interesting plots and character dynamics.

Jun 18, 2025TRON Catalyst keeps the essence of the classic '82 film alive, in the form of a roguelite that plays nicely with time loops, but ends up not surprising in any way. Very entertaining, but without grandiloquence.

Jul 14, 2025Tron: Catalyst is one of those games that’s easy to admire, even if it doesn’t quite hit every target. It builds a compelling world, executes an interesting premise, and looks incredible doing it. But by the end, the cracks start to show. Combat could use more depth, the Glitch mechanic feels underdeveloped, and the world; despite its beauty it really lacks things to do. Still, for fans of Tron, isometric action games, or stylish sci-fi in general, this is a strong entry. I’d love to see Bithell take another swing at this universe. With more time and ambition, a follow-up could turn these sparks into something explosive.

Jul 8, 2025If you love Tron then you will probably quickly fall in love with Tron: Catalyst. Characters, missions, world and lore are oozing with love and care for everything that Tron is. Unfortunately most of the gameplay can’t hold up to that. Combat is middling, the upgrade system is boring and while the time travel via your Glitch powers are exciting they are also extremely linear and narrow. This goes for the many dialogues that you’ll have as well. While freedom is suggested it doesn’t actually exist. Still: Tron: Catalyst is Tron to the bone and if you’re into that you will find a lot to love.

Jun 24, 2025On the whole, Tron: Catalyst feels like a successor of sorts to the classic AA games from the Xbox 360 generation. It's a simple and fun action-adventure game that doesn't have any bloat, but it has a handful of notable problems that hold it back from greatness. Tron: Catalyst is being sold for just $25, and honestly, it’s worth the asking price. It can keep players entertained for a day or two, even if they're a newcomer to the Tron franchise.

Jun 20, 2025TRON: Catalyst is a solid game for TRON fans to experience. Despite the back-and-forth, the game features a detailed story that is satisfying to uncover as you explore the Grid and factions. The looping glitch is a great addition to the story, and the abilities you unlock throughout the game make the fast combat and gameplay more interesting. And of course, the Light Cycle is fun to use. Ultimately, TRON: Catalyst gives you more insight into the Grid life and what it’s like to be a program.

Jun 18, 2025Bithell Games assumes your passion for Tron, but what is here stands on its own, though it doesn't truly succeed on its own.
-
Jul 2, 2025Tron: Catalyst feels like a concept brimming with promise—a narrative twist here, a combat mechanic there—but it fumbles the execution. I'll admit, my anticipation may have made the fall feel harder than the game truly deserves. Still, too much feels off: from storytelling to traversal to tone, everything leans toward flat and cold.
-
Jun 27, 2025What could have been a truly compelling experience ends up feeling like a festival of missed opportunities and half-baked ideas. With a shallow execution of its concept and a short runtime of about six and a half hours, Tron: Catalyst disappoints. Both the franchise and the players deserved better.
