    The Pathless is still a fun game after all these years. It is driven by a deep story and simple gameplay mechanics. While I would have loved to see a bit more life in the world, the gameplay is still very much engaging and endearing.

    The Pathless is a pretty great experience that will have you engrossed across its six hours or so running time. It provides a lovely world to explore, some great fresh mechanics to master and some nice puzzle elements to complement the gameplay. It does feel a bit overwhelming at times and the boss battles can feel a bit of a trudge, but in all this is a lovely little indie game.

It is a carefully curated journey that requires players to play in a certain way while enjoying its unique and idyllic world. While The Pathless does not have the excitement or action of titan indie tiles like Hades, its tranquil experience is a rewarding way to slow down, breathe, and think along the way.

    Even though The Pathless rehashes themes already tackled in ultra-popular games, it does so brilliantly and allows the experience to be lived under a more dynamic angle. Enchanting, poetic, meditative, epic: there is no shortage of superlatives to describe the experience offered by Giant Squid and we can only congratulate them for the work they have done. The influence of the gameplay on the level design is strongly felt and everything has been done to make the experience as fluid and enjoyable as possible. The feeling of escalation is truly exhilarating until the final climax. Hats off to you guys.
