Mar 21, 2023The Pathless is a very solid action-adventure game, one that arguably is something that Xbox lacks. While a two-year-old game won’t set the world on fire in sales; I can recommend this to those folks who may have been waiting for this release on Xbox, the bright colors and almost anime-like graphics and exceptionally well-done soundtrack make for a chill and mostly rewarding experience.

Feb 1, 2023The Pathless has a nice visual design and cleverly designed puzzles to solve. The movement mechanic is different but may not be to everyone’s taste and could even be off-putting for some. My main issue is that once gameplay has been established in the first and second sections it is pretty much repeated for the remainder of the game. I am sure that there are people out there (completionists especially) who will love this game as it is, but I cannot help but feel that a bit more inventiveness and a less cliché story would have made it much better.

Feb 16, 2023Even though The Pathless rehashes themes already tackled in ultra-popular games, it does so brilliantly and allows the experience to be lived under a more dynamic angle. Enchanting, poetic, meditative, epic: there is no shortage of superlatives to describe the experience offered by Giant Squid and we can only congratulate them for the work they have done. The influence of the gameplay on the level design is strongly felt and everything has been done to make the experience as fluid and enjoyable as possible. The feeling of escalation is truly exhilarating until the final climax. Hats off to you guys.
