    This game is just a trash. Any patch could not help it. Story and LOR are completely destroyed, they just killed Tolkien's character. Gameplay is awful, a lot of bugs, only two locations, absolutely stupid enemies, uninteresting platforming. This is the worst game I have ever played.

    This game is the game of all time!My life changed forever when gollum walked in and said "Its gollumin time" and then gollumed all over everyone.

    Wow, $50 for this. It certainly is...a game. Its hard to see this game getting a sequel.

    One of the worst next gen games I have ever played, this is more bad then Redfall, don't play this game it's sh*t the game looks like the developers bought a bunch of assets from Unity, it looks as bad as a sh*t indie horror game with the budget of $40, motion blur is set 100 and will make you motion sick and even on the PS5 and Xbox S/X the game looks outdated. 0/10 worst game of the year.

    Maybe I didn't drink the right kool aid, but I'm really enjoying Gollum. I'm playing it post all the patching, on an Xbox Series X, using performance mode. The game runs super smooth (so far). The game really captures the feel of LOTR and the creators were clearly fans of the IP. I'm not saying it's perfect, but I think there may have been an anti-hype train people hopped on. Most new games these days are "huge open world, do whatever you want...but really everything is just a fetch quest", or massive loot quests This isn't that. In Gollum, you typically have to get from point A to B (a.k.a. platforming) using platform mechanics similar to games as Prince of Persia or Uncharted. And throughout that a story is told. The lore/story is RICH. Another awesome mechanic is you need to make decisions at times if you want to answer like smeagol or gollum. And then you have to convince the other side to agree with you. It's both a hilarious and brilliant concept. I highly recommend this for a specific type of person: this person needs to be okay dealing with a few little glitches, love LOTR, and enjoy old-school linear platform story games.… Expand

    I need to preface this review with the fact that I am a lord of the rings fan and I enjoyed the story. The gameplay was alright minus the dumb enemy AI. The real problem with Lord of the rings gollum is not the gameplay or the mediocre graphics. The problem is with the slew of bugs including game breaking bugs. The sheer amount of bugs and glitches, including constant crashes, long loadingI need to preface this review with the fact that I am a lord of the rings fan and I enjoyed the story. The gameplay was alright minus the dumb enemy AI. The real problem with Lord of the rings gollum is not the gameplay or the mediocre graphics. The problem is with the slew of bugs including game breaking bugs. The sheer amount of bugs and glitches, including constant crashes, long loading times, gameplay glitches that break the game, etc, take away from the experience and the interesting story that provides a more sympathetic tone for gollum as a character. I could forgive the bad graphics and poor AI, but the bugs are what ruin the game for me. I did not even finish the game. I got to the last chapter, chapter 10 and it kept crashing so I just gave up. The state this game released in was unacceptable. To add insult to injury I read an article that said daedalic entertainment is working on their next lord of the rings game instead of fixing the broken one they released. Gamers deserve better than this. This is abuse plain and simple.… Expand

    Einfach mies,ich hab mir das Spiel zum Glück nicht gekauft,sondern nur geliehen.
    Nach 30min war es klar das ist richtiger Mist!

    Just like the character of Gollum, I’m a bit split on how I feel about the game. I do believe that there is a really great game hidden in The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. It’s clear that the love for the character, lore and the world are there in its DNA. The dialogue between Gollum and Sméagol was enjoyable and well done. Although slightly graphically dated, the world was quite beautiful when you weren’t underground (which was the majority of the game). The issues arise from the mechanics of the platforming and puzzle sections just not being finished. I simply can’t recommend this game at full price. Also speaking about price, an extra cost is associated if you want the lore compendium and elvish voice acting. This is paid DLC and really should have been included in the base game. Sadly, this wasn’t the precious game I was hoping for.

    The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is inadequate in all respects. Something good can be glimpsed in the second act, but it is still a drop in a sea of mediocrity that isn't worth your time, and especially not worth the involvement of such an important license as The Lord of the Rings.

    The Lord of the Rings: Gollum offers us a trip to Middle-earth that doesn't quite convince. We are facing a half-finished game, with bugs and a graphic quality that doesn't belong to the current generation.
