    Not sure why everybody is this hyped at this point, game is a technical disaster. There's a good game in there somewhere burried beneath an atrocious chugging frame-rate and laggy controls. Easy is way too easy, normal is "too hard" due to the terrible performance issues. Wait for a patch or 2. Tons of bugs too, 1 freeze and 2 weird glitches covering the whole screen the whole time.     Going lower than 7 isn't really fair because it's a really, really good Metroidvania game, but bugs and glitches are (as well as overall poor technical performance) are way too common and most times really detrimental to the experience.
    My suggestion is to wait for some performance patches. With time this could easily become a 9 game, but for now there's no way to rate it higher.

    Controls are nowhere near as tight as they need to be to be defined within the metroidvania genre. After 10hrs i ran into a multitude of bugs that halted gameplay and required restarting. On PC performance maintains and isnt awful. However there is quite a bit of stuttering that occurs when transitioning from one room to another. The combat is my least favorite part. It feels as though imControls are nowhere near as tight as they need to be to be defined within the metroidvania genre. After 10hrs i ran into a multitude of bugs that halted gameplay and required restarting. On PC performance maintains and isnt awful. However there is quite a bit of stuttering that occurs when transitioning from one room to another. The combat is my least favorite part. It feels as though im fighting in jello and latency on PC w/xbox controller is insanely high. Quite a bit of post patchwork will be needed.… Expand

    Let's be real, the game is beautiful, has a very good art direction and lot of talent and creativity put into it. I'd love to continue playing, but I ended up taking a break until they fix a couple of things. The amount of jank is crazy, the combat doesn't flow at all, the game freezes in certain areas, the settings menu requires an unnecessary extra step to acess it, etc. I'd love thatLet's be real, the game is beautiful, has a very good art direction and lot of talent and creativity put into it.     The game as a whole is not bad, but the riddles are sometimes strange, it is not clear what to do and the presentation of the plot is very strange.

    Nice graphics do a lot, but unfortunately they don't save everything, especially when you need to save gameplay in such a major way as is the case here. Precision and smooth controls are absolutely key in this type of game, and that's where the developers screwed up. [Issue#328]

    As an AA title, The Last Case of Benedict Fox offers a lot of value, and its inclusion in Microsoft Game Pass makes it available to a wider range of audience. It may not revolutionize the Metroidvania genre, but creates a lot of potential for future games to take advantage of.

    The Last Case of Benedict Fox is a morbid and surreal Metroidvania experience. With tough puzzles and cruel combat, this will test the best players. Moreover, the cruel bosses will push you to your limits. What's more, it is free to play on Game Pass.
