    Had fun with the game for the first 5 hours or so. Great atmosphere and story.

    Then booted the game again and suddenly the entire game was in Chinese. There’s apparently a quick language switch button (for whatever reason). Well, I pressed every button and couldn’t get it to switch back to English. Tried to go into the pause menu, but apparently the second option is New Game. This    Had fun with the game for the first 5 hours or so. Great atmosphere and story.

This instantly overwrites your save and there’s no option to load the old one.

    Who seriously comes up with this stuff. Had a great time playing it this far, but because of ridiculous game design I’ve now lost 5 hours of progress and have to start over. Won’t even bother.    … Expand

    Backbone isn’t an overly long game, maybe 5-6 hours at most, but what it does in its trim time frame is craft a world and characters that we care about, a narrative that is constantly intriguing and surprising, and offer us just enough interactivity that we can progress almost without having to worry about any challenge. It’s a marvellous example of what the indie game space can do, and a title that everyone with – or without – a Game Pass subscription should check out.
