It does the one thing it promises out the gate well, and that is crisp, tightly controlled snowboarding game, with just enough variations on the hills and courses where you can enjoy your time... at first. It is a game to be mastered through a - silly - campaign and some repetition as a concerted effort to master controls is needed to get the full experience. But for me, that feeling fades REAL fast as you realize how this game truly did hone in their focus on that one aspect, the snowboarding - and that's it.

Now, I normally would laud a developer for putting all their beans into the core of the game over say, multiple modes which cause a watered down effect across the multiple modes. But that one experience, snowboarding - was only done "well" - even after getting slick at the game enough to pull off some satisfying runs. Though after you get familiar with the controls, playing starts to feel very sterile and devoid of any additional risks in design. Likely intentional, but nowadays you come to expect more - especially with a game willing to call itself "Shredders". It's an "okay" game as a full package. But if you dig snowboarding to a high degree, you may get more out of it than I did - as this title does not seem to be designed to appeal to the likes of myself, which is fair.

The game is fun, not revolutionary or anything but it's good to spend a few hours and enjoy the landscape.

Game looks good, but i get FPS drops on my XBX with 4k. I had a little bigger expectation from the game and performance. Voice acting is ok but it's off climatic because you can clearly hear it's all recorded in studio. Game is cool for 1h - 2h sessions nothing more, or its me who gets bored too fast..

Solid snowboarding game, in a genre that doesn't appear to have much right now. Graphics were good, controls remind me of Skate, but maybe not as sharp. Still a good game.

Technically, the game does look the part, with solid graphics especially on Xbox Series X where the game was tested, albeit there’s noticeable and rather annoying framerate drops whenever the game loads new players into our session. In the end, I find myself having a good time with Shredders, but there’s still plenty to iron out in its design before it has the chance to be remembered as one of the great snowboarding titles.

Shredders is not as challenging as I was expecting, and whilst this limits its overall longevity, it's accessible, laid back and fun to play.

I ended up feeling the same way about Shredders in comparison to SSX as I do with Tony Hawk and Skate. I prefer the fast-paced arcade action of the former, but the latter is a great time as well. I’d love to see the core gameplay and vibe of Shredders with a little more budget put into it, as there’s something special hidden underneath all the snow.
