If you are fan of mysteries, puzzling solving and immersive story-lines, this is a good one for the collection.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is much more than a simple remake, it’s a new take on the original. It dives further into the psyche of Sherlock and lets you get to know Watson better. The sights and sounds have been reworked and it was an enjoyable experience even when frustrated with my skills in problem solving. It’s definitely a case worth investigating.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened does a brilliant job of placing you in the shoes of the world renowned detective; something which should be the primary objective of any Sherlock game. There is a great sense of exploration allowed here, along with a good story.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened succeeds through refining and bettering the normal Sherlock Holmes formula. A return to pure exploration over combat is great to see and the game is more tightly woven than before. Our only real quibble comes from those visits to the other world but for the most part, this is pure sleuthing.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened has a very good and interesting storyline, capable of keeping us glued to the end, but it suffers from a few too many bugs and gameplay that is a bit too frustrating and confusing. It is worth a try, but maybe after the arrival of some patches and a price drop.

The small problem that surrounds this title is that it plays quite a lot like Chapter One and — though better — still has that general feel of Sinking City. It also will serve to frustrate many because of the way it doesn’t attempt to hold your hand as you play. If you don’t mind that duopoly of deja vu — nor a bit of trial and error — then jump right in.

The Ukrainian studio Frogwares has opted for a remake of one of their games released in 2006 as a result of the conflict ravaging its country. Rather than being satisfied with a slight remake, the game has been completely reworked from A to Z: that’s what we’re talking about! The story is slightly modified compared to the original, and the graphics are very pleasant, as is the soundtrack. We really get into the game when searching for clues and reconstructing sequences of events. The only small drawbacks come from the characters’ stiffness and the fact that the game only has English subtitles. What a lovely time spent with Holmes and Watson.

Played the original years ago and it was a great game. This remake is ruined by a terrible off-centered camera and a bad Holmes design.Played the original years ago and it was a great game. This remake is ruined by a terrible off-centered camera and a bad Holmes design.

    Avoid it, play the original.

Very good. The story was engaging and the environments were very rich and interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed. I feel like it was a bit short forVery good. The story was engaging and the environments were very rich and interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed. I feel like it was a bit short for the price. The DLC did add a couple of hours but not still not sure it was worth the extra cost. Frogwares have clearly put time and effort into improving the mechanics from Chapter One and have obviously listened to player feedback which is refreshing. Full Review »
