    I dont know why people are giving this game **** scores! Perhaps it's due to them playing the GameCube original and wanted the exact same game with no changes except graphics. Well no company who does a remake is gonna make the exact same game as it won't attract other players and or companies who publish thr game and pay for it. Just like the Dead Space, FF 7, LIke A Dragon Remakes and this game its a love letter to the originals while removing and adding elements to the base game to make what the game makers team thinks is the best option for returning players while attracting new players of a new generation to experience this must play gem! I give the game a 9/10 and rated it a 10/10 to combat the idiots rating this game a 1/10 out of spite.… Expand

    Wow they did it, made another greatest game of all time. To spite the game urinalists this is a reminagining of the origional and dosent detract from th origional GC Masterpeice at all. Just now there is 2 legendary games named RE4. Game is perfect besides the dead zone on Xbox needs fixing .

    I thoughroughly enjoyed playing through this remake. In many ways the original game defined modern action adventure 3rd person gameplay so it was interesting to see what capcom would do here. Ultimately it plays better, looks better and has the same corny 90's vibe that gives the series it's identity. The performance felt great with my vrr display in resolution mode. For fans of the series this is a must buy. *Seems there has been some review bombing here - I have adjusted my score to compensate. Metacritic needs to sort this problem out!    … Expand

    Do not listen to 1 and 0 scores. It is a remake, and there is a lot of content here. The game is very well designed in the first iteration, but this remake is one of the best games of the year.

    Capcom have managed to create one of the greatest games of all time yet again. Captures everything I loved about the original, which is/was my favorite game. Leon is as cool as ever, arguably his best appearance in the series. He manages to show much more emotion in this one, while still keeping his badass attitude. One of, if not the most visually impressive game I've ever played. The RE Engine continues to be one of the most impressive engines in the industry. Overall I think this is easily the best Resident Evil game out of any of the recent releases since RE7, and arguably the best in the franchise, contending with the original. It's full of content, with my first playthrough taking over 20 hours, in comparison to RE Village taking me 11 hours. I recommend this game to anybody that's a fan of the series, survival horror games, or just third person shooters in general. I promise you will get your money's worth.     Idk why this game is getting review bombed. It felt like playing the original all over again. Some content was cut, but I suspect it will be used for Ada's gameplay when it gets released. Overall great game.

    The Original RE:4 was very much a product of the early 2000s. It was cheesy, over the top, and irreverent. So seeing something like a small man with a French aristocratic hat throwing hissy fits wasn't out of place. Nor was it out of place to see Ada Wong look like a cabaret singer moonlighting as a spy in a long slip dress with high heels running around outdoors.     Fast forward to today, and RE:4 is a very different game. It's much less irreverent. It's much less set in the current comedic climate of the early 2000s; its humor is all but gone, and it's more grounded. There's a more serious tone, and things make a little more sense.

    And in this shift to a more serious take on the story, a more grounded one, they gave her a more practical outfit that is still sexy, and she says her lines like a normal person talks.
    But for the life of me, I can't figure out why that was the sticking point. All the characters changed. They were all adjusted to meet this current vision of the game.
    But because Ada Wong isn't in Jessica Rabbit cosplay, talking like a cam model, all these fans harass the actress (who was acting under the direction of the DIRECTOR), and whose character was designed by the art team under the creative director's vision.

    So yeah, things that had NOTHING to do with her, these fans drove her to delete her social media accounts. Then you have to come on here and pitch a hissy fit that a side character doesn't dress, talk and act like their favorite OnlyFans model.
    This is where we are people, simps are mad a video game character doesn't make them want to pull on themselves the minute she appears on the screen.    … Expand

    Such a masterpiece. I don’t know why this game is review bombed with low ratings, they don’t have any strong arguments why this game would be bad. This game really improves on the previous game and successfully translated to modern gaming. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a game this much (probably Red Dead 2 was the last I remember)

    Game of the year for me if you count remakes.

    Store and loot mechanics are cool,
    I don't want to slap the **** out of Leon anymore.
    Re2 I totally did want slap the **** out of leon."original version" It's really fun and I enjoy even hunting down fish and snakes to sell for money. Bad: Janky controls, caused a few deaths.

    If this were a modern game I would give it a 9 out of 10 but considering it's a near rework in many ways I have to give it a 10 out of 10 overall. Plays enough like the original but the additions made to the 2023 release stand out as augmentation; an amazing reiteration of another golden era of video games.

This is because the game gives you just about enough ammo to survive but not enough to feel ever safe. The enemy variety is very clever from parasite spiders to flying bugs.     It's almost sad that i have to say this, but Capcom is one of those very last game developers who actually cares about delivering amazing game, that fans have been waiting for. It would have been so easy for them to make cheap cash grab, but they didn't do that. They actually put hard work into this project.     Anyone who is surprised by this low user score, just know that there is no real hate for this game. For example, on Steam it's "Overwhelmingly positive" with over 12 000 reviews. What happened here, seems to be typical review bombing/double fake accounts giving 0's. This game is phenomenal, buy it, play it. Games that are this good release rarely, don't miss it.

    One of the best games of all time, And definitely the best remake. This took the fun gameplay of the original and made it even better. The environment now looks gorgeous thanks to the RE engine. Now Code Veronica remake please.

    Es fiel al original con mecánicas y enemigos nuevos. No digo que el juego sea de 10 porque eso es subjetivo pero objetivamente menos de 7 no puedes ponerle porque lo único que podrías quejarte es que faltara U-3 y los DLCS (que llegaran mas adelante).

It's not just copy+paste "new graphics on old game", nope. This is, in many ways, expanded and updated version of RE4. Rain/storm looks great and makes it obvious that pre-release footage was just some "beta" stages.

    Obviously no game is perfect, i could always complain about something, anything (that goes for any game btw). But i almost don't want to, it's just as close to perfection as modern remake could be. Dead Space Remake was solid, very good. But this one is next level compared to that one.

    To bring out some negatives, as a die hard RE4 fan, i was obviously disappointed that U-3 was cut. U-3 had very interesting design and fight was fun and scary and would have worked perfectly in this new remake. I'm not really sure why the cut it, but i'm hopeful that maybe they are holding it for dlc.

    BUT that didn't break the game for me at all, everything else was great, most boss fights were amazing and expanded content helped as well. Atmosphere was absolutely flawless on all three locations (village,castle,island). Voice acting (for the most part) was great. My biggest surprise was Ashley, she was perfect! I was never huge Ashley fan, in the original she was extremely annoying, but in the remake she almost felt like new character (in a good way). Leon's voice acting was solid, as expected. Overall script/dialogue was also nice, i especially liked moments between Leon and Ashley.

    At the end of the day, i don't even care if it wins any awards, all i can say is, that it's very good game and that's the most important thing. But when development team puts so much passion into a project like this, i think it should be rewarded.    … Expand

How sad and pathetic somebody needs to be to do something like that? Get a life loser. Hopefully no Youtuber/anyone really mentions it anywhere, because this loser doesn't deserve any attention.     I had zero fps or controllers issues with this game. I played on the performance mode on Series X. Perfect remake and surpassed my expectations. Will do multiple playthroughs of this one.

Para ficar perfeito só tá faltando lançarem o separate ways espero que venha logo mais porque é a única coisa que está faltando nesse remake a visão da Ada nesse jogo. Para quem está sentindo falta do inimigo u3 fique tranquilo porque ele deve aparecer na campanha da Ada, o inimigo u3 não fazia muito sentido na campanha principal, ele era um inimigo muito aleatório na campanha original e agora na campanha do remake faz muito mais sentido a linha do tempo que criada pela Capcom onde os inimigos tem um lote maior e mais detalhado e bem explicado e u3 não fazia parte disso então ele foi um excelente corte um acerto da Capcom.… Expand

    Es un excelente REMAKE, pongo en mayúsculas REMAKE porque recuerden que eso es y no un remastered, hay cosas nuevas y cosas que ya no hay pero sin duda estará nominado el GOTY este año porque es un excelente juego y aún más como remake.

    Resident Evil 4 remake is literally so amazing. It has great replay ability and kept true to the original. They expanded on the story, which was kinda lacking in the original.     Resident Evil 4 Remake is an absolute delight. Veterans of the original will love the changes and newcomers can now appreciate just how good this game actually is. Capcom continues the trend of keeping the series fresh in our minds. I cannot wait for the next new entry as well as what remake they do next. Almost guaranteed we will see RE5 next, but Capcom please listen to your fans and give us that Code Veronica remake we so rightly desire. Regardless, fans of the series are eating so good right now.
