    Day and date 30fps mode with average graphic on the world's most powerful console. No quick resume on consoles and can't pause the game, even while navigating the menu a stray dracula can kill you. Default setting on controller give huge deadzone on the stick and combined with the stuttering 30fps leading to unresponsive experiences. Textures which is more noticeable on decals takes up to 30 seconds to load, unacceptable for a new gen hardware equipped with SSD. Mindless missions presented with a low budget slideshows cut scenes instead of proper cinematic animated cut scenes like the one they shows off in the trailer. With so many mission breaking bugs, sometimes unable to crouch and countless display and UI glitches that can and will obstructed gameplay requiring players to resetting the game manually never mind the occasionally crashes, the best times you can had with this game is exploring its brain dead AI which does not made it worth for $70. If you want to get a massive headaches while trying to bored yourself, then play this game. 60fps patch is not included day and date.… Expand

    Gameplay - The Gunplay is probably the best part of the game, but it is dragged down by other elements like weird AI behavior, repetitive/boring encounters, and weird gun progression. I'll explain a couple of these below. (Gunplay feels good) Encounters - You fight the same basic enemies, and early on the game    NOTE - I AM MAKING THIS REVIEW AFTER PLAYING PATCH 1.1 (ON XBOX SERIES S)

    Gameplay - The Gunplay is probably the best part of the game, but it is dragged down by other elements like weird AI behavior, repetitive/boring encounters, and weird gun progression. I'll explain a couple of these below. (Gunplay feels good)

    Encounters - You fight the same basic enemies, and early on the game introduces a few mini-boss enemies that don't show up that often. Missions also feel very similar in their design. Outside missions, the world doesn't have much else to offer. Also, even though the world is small, it feels empty in most areas that are not mission locations.

    Weird Gun Progression - The way the game gives you weapons feels off. I usually just use weapons dropped by the rook or sold in the firehouse. Pretty much all the lootable weapons in the game seem like they are only meant to be scrap. They are usually either worse than the weapons you have or are the same as the ones you have but they don't have unique properties or buffs that beg you to switch up your loadout that often.

    Story - It can get a bit interesting at certain parts, but that's if you sit through the slideshows and audio logs. It feels like Arkane just animated that one cutscene at the beginning of the game and stopped.

    Environment/Atmosphere - The actual environment and atmosphere are also good parts of the game. The environments are detailed and interesting. The atmosphere is also good, but the sound/music can be a bit weird at times. For the music, it was good and made a spooky atmosphere in most parts of the world, but some areas like the firehouse have trap-like music playing. I have just accepted it and it doesn't bother me, but it's a subjective topic.

    Graphics/Bugs - Even after patch 1.1, there are still many bugs that pull the entire experience down more. There are still weird ones with the map, subtitles, graphics, sound, stability, and more. The graphical side of the game is just broken, there's not much to say about it.

    More - There's still stuff I haven't talked about, including topics like UI and things I didn't talk about in topics I wrote about above. It's a "meh" game that can improve a bit over time. This review is only looking at the game itself. I'm not going to bring up anything about development, broken promises, staffing issues, and other things.

    Future - This will not impact the score at all, but Redfall can improve. If State of Decay 2 is to go by, then a small team at Arkane Austin can make Redfall a better game. They can still roll out patches to fix bugs, AI, graphics, and more. They could also possibly fix issues relating to content. It could probably go from a 3-5/10 game to a 6-7/10 one.    … Expand

    Once upon a time, game studios like Bethesda and Arcane brought out excellent single player games with exciting stories and interesting gameplay mechanics..... But then they let Microsoft buy them out, Phil Spencer said: "Let there be crap" and it became REDFALL

    -Graphics : For a 2019 game graphic are not bad, Wait we are in 2023 ?

    Conclusion (that can apply for all the new games) : Wait for patches, don't buy it full price. Or play it on the gamepass. That's all.    … Expand

    If you want to play Single player, it needs internet connection always?! Why the f!?

It looks like a ID@Xbox game was left out and skipped the Xbox 360 Era of arcade games. Redfall is a sorry, lame excuse for a game. Graphics take 10+ seconds to render, locked at 30fps, and while all that is happeningIf someone asked me what I think my top 3 worst games I have ever played were, this is going right up there. This game is disgusting looking for a "next gen" experience. It looks like a ID@Xbox game was left out and skipped the Xbox 360 Era of arcade games. Redfall is a sorry, lame excuse for a game. Only reason this gets granted a 1 instead of a 0 is the idea is great; absolutely would love to slay vampires if the core gameplay and graphics actually were as advertised but all you get is a dull, stupid, terrible game. This has to be a joke from Microsoft or something that we haven't caught onto yet. At best Redfall is a bargain bin game that you would find at gamestop for a dollar because I wouldn't ever spend more on this game. But the games story is lazy, uninspired just hit garbage this can never be fixt. I this Microsoft continuing to release mid level games and call it good enough for gamepass I am officially out of this ecosystem.     broken AI, Empty open world, none existent story ( fun fact the trailers were more animated than the actual game shows where the money went)bad loot system and this is all before stuttering, the frozen in place enemies, the crashes and the 30fps.

    The result is a game with no identity of its own. Redfall simultaneously wants to be a looter shooter like Borderlands, in an open world like Fallout's, with action like Dying light and a lengthy multiplayer experience like Destiny. But it fails on all counts. The game environments are bleakly empty, the gameplay is wooden. Like the vampires from the world of Redfall, the game has no soul.

    Sadly, Redfall had unbelievable potential and a dynamic studio behind this that is known for quality gaming, but under delivered at quite literally almost every facet of the game. Redfall, unfortunately, should be avoided, and in fact, I hope that the industry starts taking a look at these games and starts evaluating its processes, because if you're only as good as your last game, then Arkane isn't looking good at all.
