REANIMAL is a big step up from the Little Nightmares games in terms of story and world-building. This feels more mature, more epic, and, at times, much more terrifying.

Reanimal has delivered what Little Nightmares III could not. Tarsier Studios has shed the constraints imposed by the Little Nightmares universe, subjecting its audience to an emotional bombardment while simultaneously pushing them out of their comfort zone.

Tarsier Studios has managed to outdo itself. REANIMAL reaffirms the studio's pedigree, with an intense story that is supported by a heart-stopping setting and accompanied by gameplay that offers us the best of the genre. Just when you think you've seen it all, something new appears that will surprise you.

REANIMAL is a high-quality horror adventure that elevates Tarsier Studios’ signature elements to new heights. Blending distinctive gameplay with deliberately cryptic storytelling, it delivers an experience that is both gripping and deeply unsettling. Grotesque design, meticulous direction, and a strong co-op mode enhance the formula, making this new IP a meaningful evolution and an essential addition for horror fans.

Tarsier Studios have taken their signature DNA and refined it - it's not perfect, but it's a sharp, confident experience. Bleak, beautiful and deeply unsettling - Tarsier certainly haven't lost their touch.

Reanimal delivers a tense, visually striking survival-horror experience in the vein of Little Nightmares. Its cooperative gameplay, claustrophobic levels, and subtle storytelling keep players on edge, while hidden collectibles extend the 6–8 hour runtime. Though it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it refines the series’ formula with style and atmosphere.

Even if the gameplay is mechanically uncomplicated, there’s no shortage in Reanimal of visual allure, albeit of the kind that makes you wince or at least provokes a morbid chuckle. ‘Did I really just see that?’, you think more than once.

Two children journey through a twisted nightmare world to rescue their missing friends. Reanimal blends eerie atmosphere, cooperative puzzles, and disturbing creatures into a tense horror adventure that surpasses Little Nightmares.

Reanimal is an audiovisual masterpiece and in many ways more interesting than its twin game, Little Nightmares 3, but it doesn't quite reach the level of a classic status like the opening part of Little Nightmares.

In many ways, REANIMAL represents the pinnacle of Tarsier Studios’ talent, delivering a dark, awe-inspiring experience that will stick with you long after the credits roll, especially if you’re craving the same atmosphere the Little Nightmares franchise is known for but with a little more freedom gameplay wise. Whether you brave it solo or tackle it in co-op, this horror game has a way of burrowing into your brain, though it must be said that Tarsier once again pays little heed to long-standing criticisms, as the game can be frustrating at times and carries a hefty price tag for an experience you can finish in just a few hours. If you can live with that, REANIMAL is an unleashed beast I wouldn’t cage again for anything.

REANIMAL is a great step in the right direction for Tarsier’s portfolio, though with all the improvements there are still some problems with its execution.

With Reanimal, Tarsier Studios has created an experience that builds on the formula that made Little Nightmares I and II such a success: immersive art direction, fragmented storytelling, and a chilling atmosphere in an imaginary world that is as gloomy and creepy as ever. But the studio goes beyond just replicating thanks to a gameplay that is more varied and fluid. What's more, the cooperative mode adds a dynamic element that heightens the emotion and mutual support. With its polished production, improved graphics and animations, and remarkable sound design, Reanimal is faster-paced, more intense and more beastly than ever. Newcomers will discover a horror tale that is as oppressive as it is confusing, while regulars will find familiar mechanics enhanced by a more assertive ambition. Reanimal is not just the legacy of Little Nightmares: it is a true transformation, an evolution that opens the way to new perspectives for the franchise. And suffice to say that we will be following this transformation with interest.
