The multifaceted combat system, lunar setting, and gripping story come together to deliver a tense, atmospheric, and heartfelt story about survival and a meaningful bond, although it does suffer from some slight predictability.

Pragmata delivers a unique sci-fi action-adventure experience with a fresh combat system built around cooperation between Hugh and Diana. The hacking mechanics add depth to encounters, especially during memorable boss fights.

I was pleasantly surprised by many aspects of Pragmata. First, the constantly evolving and engaging hacking mechanic, then, the creative level design and puzzles, and finally the emotional bond forming between Hugh and Diana. Hopefully we’ll see more from this new, innovative IP in years to come (hopefully with a much-improved map).

I loved my time with PRAGMATA. Playing it genuinely feels like a breath of fresh air and fondly reminds of games from the 2000s. It is always great to see a new IP launch successfully, and hopefully, we will get to see this world expanded with more stories.

Pragmata is a visually stunning game that blends hacking, shooting, and much more into one seamless experience. The game looks incredible and effortlessly has you multitasking as if it’s second nature. Meanwhile, Diana easily steals the spotlight as the cutest android ever.

Just as NASA's moonshot was a success, so is Capcom's latest game. If you want a polished experience that brings something new to the table, you can't go wrong with Pragmata.

To avoid compromising the core experience, it feels as though Capcom opted to keep things simple—a choice that is often the most sensible one. While perhaps unsurprising in this regard, Pragmata more than makes up for it with its gameplay—which is exhilarating from start to finish and constantly refreshed by regular new additions—as well as through the story it weaves around its two central characters and their intertwined destinies. Dense, spectacular, and deeply moving, Pragmata stands as the perfect example of the kind of tightly focused game we wish we encountered more often—a stark contrast to other titles that aim for sheer excess. Short yet intense, Pragmata serves as yet another testament to Capcom’s mastery in delivering finely tuned productions that send shivers down your spine.

Capcom’s newest franchise, Pragmata, is a bold gamble that largely pays off, thanks in no small part to the power of the RE Engine and the studio’s proven talent. Set in a cold, dark sci-fi world, the game clearly draws inspiration from Dead Space while still striving to carve out its own identity through a memorable story, epic boss encounters, and strong character relationships. If you’re looking for a high-quality sci-fi action-adventure with an engaging narrative and top-tier visuals, Pragmata is well worth your time and money.

Well-conceived and beautifully crafted, Pragmata is a remarkable and enjoyable game. It might lack that extra gear needed to enter the pantheon of masterpieces, but if the goal is to offer a solid and thrilling experience, it completely hits the mark.

In the end, Pragmata is a great new IP from Capcom. It’s endearing, it offers a unique and satisfying take on third-person combat, and also boasts plenty of scope for exploration, impressive bosses, rewarding payoffs and a significant amount of built-in postgame content. What more could someone ask for?

Pragmata is a great video game, just like the ones from back in the day. Drawing inspiration from its past classics, Capcom has placed pure gameplay at the heart of the experience, building the story of Hugh and Diana around it—a tale as simple as it is timeless, which is almost a unique case for the Osaka-based company. The development of the father-daughter relationship stands out against the backdrop of a fast, fluid, and engaging action experience that turns the clock back twenty years to an era of levels to complete, arcade-style challenges, and extra modes to unlock. Cho Yonghee's first directorial project aims to do a few things and do them very well. It runs smoothly until the credits roll, introducing a brand-new universe within the boundaries of a traditional formula. However, it doesn't quite reach excellence in any of its components, almost shying away from the very idea of ambition. Perhaps that is why it feels so close to old-school atmospheres: you press the start button and enjoy playing, without chasing transcendental goals.

Pragmata is an interesting game that sometimes overcomplicates or oversimplifies its mechanics and setting. I really enjoyed my time with the game, but I’m not sure it will stick with me over time. There were moments where I thought it was outstanding, while other times it was just another space shooter. That is probably its biggest flaw. The pacing of the fun is too uneven and could have benefitted from better pacing.
