The story intelligently explores themes of grief and maturity while offering some valuable insights into its characters but is told too piecemeal to justify a playthrough alone. With that said, if you’re simply itching for more of Persona 3 Reload’s dungeon crawling or closure for its cast, there is a compelling 30 hours to enjoy behind this expansion’s flawed construction. For anyone curious enough, The Answer awaits.

For Persona 3: Reload fans, Episode Aigis is a pretty interesting piece of content that's worth paying for, but for those who couldn't quite connect with the base experience, this DLC won't be for them. This is an expansion that struggles to justify its existence, a task that seems impossible considering Persona 3: Reload's spectacular ending, but it's not a job without merit.

Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis -The Answer- is a solid DLC that complements what was seen in the base game. The content it brings is decent, and fans will be happy to be able to continue the story after the end of Reload.

Episode Aigis: The Answer respects the original content, which some will like and others don’t, but it also fixes some of the original aspects that people didn’t like about the DLC, like the lack of the compendium and having no control over your party, making it the best way to experience this epilogue.

Persona 3 Reload's Episode Aigis - The Answer DLC may be lacking some social elements, but it's hard to deny more great Persona combat.

The Answer gets a facelift with the same coat of paint that Persona 3 received, but retains all the shortcomings that made it the most divisive extra content in the series.

Episode Aigis is a great addition to Persona 3 Reload, if only for the additional story content and new battle challenges. But this episode sheds too much from the base game, leaving a tedious adventure in the wake for those looking for The Answer.
  8. Despite all of this, Episode Aigis is still The Answer at its core, and its core is Twotarus. There are a few interesting story beats here, but you could just as easily experience them from watching a cutscene compilation, rather than running around the dungeon listening to them exclaim, “Oh, a treasure chest” and “A shadow. Should we fight it?” on repeat between being jumpscared by enemies that body you off screen. Episode Aigis is undoubtedly the best way to play The Answer and see its story, but if you don’t like Persona 3’s combat, you really need to ask yourself if it’s something you want to play at all.

Persona 3: Reload - Episode Aigis is a decent finale to a game I adore, but there were too many times where I felt it was taking away more than it was giving. The story is absolutely worth finishing, and if your favourite part of the base game was Tartarus you’ll have a blast, but if you’re like me and prefer a balance between business and pleasure, you may be disappointed by what the DLC offers.
