Observer: System Redux is a good proposal, but it repeats the same errors as the original game.

Blooper Studio's attempt to take advantage of the cyberpunk genre's hype created by Cyberpunk 2077 neither fails nor pays off, as Observer: System Redux is mediocre adventure game that can't really challenge the new generation consoles.

Observer: System Redux is an instant enhancement to the 2017 game. It looks better and plays better, but still has the biggest problem the original had: its slow pace.

The System Redux edition looks stunning with all the advantages of the new generation consoles, but besides that, there is nothing essentially new or improved.

Observer: System Redux improves on the original’s visual style and wonderfully disturbing nightmare sequences, but it doesn’t fix an uninspired plot or lack of consistent horror elements.

4K and ray-tracing seem to push the Series X to the limit, but in perfomance mode System Redux definitely looks better than the original – and runs smoother. Nonetheless the core stays the same: a weird cyberpunk thriller with repititive mind-games.

If you ignore all the needless meddling with graphic options in the console versions of the game, you can call Observer: System Redux a pretty good remaster, with some great visuals and a portion of a completely new content. But at the same time System Redux carries on every single problem the original release had, basically being yet another walking sim. It's quite likely that Observer: System Redux will take its place among some other games, that no one will ever remember a year from now.

Observer System Redux is a prettier, smoother version of a good game, but its setting and characters are so grotesque and dark that it can be hard to get through.

The worldObserver: System Redux is the next generation remake of the cyberpunk, detective thriller set in the year 2084 in Krakow, Poland. The world lies in ruins with corporations seizing power after the fall of governments. You do their bidding. No lie will remain hidden from you, as you hack into the minds of those you interrogate. When your past catches-up, you must act on your own and unravel the mystery of your son’s disappearance. Your name is Daniel Lazarski, Amazing as the original one. I like the visual improvement and all. Also the game looks good with or without Ray Tracing. Only way I could tell that Ray Tracing was on was due to a huge FPS hit. Problem solved by turning it off and runs extremely smooth on max settings. Never finished the original one to be honest (had forgotten it) but now I will certainly do so as this is a close to Cyberpunk you can get without playing CP 2077 for. few more days. For the price of admission it's worth picking this one up for our Xbox Series X also. It of course as one would expect it to be absolutely a beauti-FULL experience of the Xbox Series X version as we would expect nothing less. Full Review »

TheThus, the developers from Bloober Team managed a great step in the right direction with the new version of "Observer: System Redux". The storyline is still convincing nowadays and the gameplay is a lot of fun anyway. However, the game is not suitable for every gamer. The game's controls were not implemented quite well for the new controllers. This can quickly lead to frustrating moments in the gameplay. On the other hand, the graphical performance can provide plus points. Those who would like to play another title on their new console should definitely take a look at "Observer: System Redux".

You play an Observer, basically a detective that can plug into peoples brain implants and view their memories. The setting is the late 2000's where everyone is getting implants and there is a terrifying disease called "nanophage" ravaging the populace. The entire game takes place in one apartment complex but at no time did I find it boring. You are searching for your estranged son but stumble upon something much bigger. Tons of intertwining stories and philosophical concepts to ponder while you find clues and try to retain your sanity. Full Review »
