Feb 26, 2025Once Monster Hunter Wilds has its teeth into you, you won’t want it to let go. With all the endgame, post-release and inevitable expansion content coming in the near and distant future, Monster Hunter Wilds is another sublime time sink.

Feb 24, 2025This is the pinnacle of the series, a definitive experience . Monster Hunter Wilds offers everything that players have longed for from previous installments. It borrows heavily from World and mirrors certain elements of Rise . All in all, it's a must-play game for any fan of the series, and we highly recommend it.

Feb 24, 2025A strong contender for game of the year, Monster Hunter Wilds marks another great success for Capcom with its most popular franchise. With a grand and impressive world, a huge variety of biomes and fights against breathtaking monsters, the new chapter in the franchise offers some of the best and most varied gameplay of the entire generation of consoles, rewarding players who explore the enormous possibilities that Monster Hunter Wilds has to offer. Whether you're a beginner or a veteran of the series, it will be hard not to be charmed by yet another brilliant piece of work from Capcom.

Xbox TavernFeb 24, 2025Consider me a Monster Hunter convert. Wilds is a great entry point to the series for someone like me who’s never really gotten into it in the past, but there’s plenty of depth and nitty gritty here that fans will no doubt find enjoyable to get into. A lengthy and enjoyable campaign leads into a vast end-game that will keep me coming back for some time yet.

Feb 24, 2025Another Monster Hunter game, another eminently playable entry in Capcom's colossal creature feature. Monster Hunter Wilds is superb, with the new Focus Mode making for the most immediate and enjoyable instalment to date. A monster triumph.

Feb 24, 2025Monster Hunter Wilds continues the momentum of Monster Hunter World to offer a more open and fluid experience than ever. Thanks to its vast expansive areas, we have even more the feeling of evolving in credible and living ecosystems to enjoy its original bestiary. Besides that, Monster Hunter Wilds improves the well-oiled gameplay of the series by adding new movements for each of the 14 weapons and especially the focus mode which really changes the way of approaching hunting. And if we can salute the care given to the rather nice story, we can still regret that this new episode does not better accompany new players to discover the codes of the saga, once again. Despite this, one thing is certain, it has never been as pleasant to get into Monster Hunter as it is today.

Feb 24, 2025Monster Hunter Wilds starts with big hunts and breathtaking action scenes. By the end of the story and beyond, you’ll be hunting even larger monsters with impossibly larger attacks, harvesting materials from their bodies to make stronger weapons and tougher armor.

Feb 24, 2025Monster Hunter Wilds is an excellent addition to Capcom's long-running series. The game combines the expansiveness of Monster Hunter World with the improved pacing of Monster Hunter Rise into something worthy of the sum of its parts. The new Focus Mode attacks look and feel amazing, the menagerie of new monsters to hunt is suitably varied and exciting to take down, and for those who are into it, the narrative has its moments. Admittedly, those who want more than the standard Monster Hunter gameplay loop may be left wanting; however, Considering the degree of post-launch support, both free and premium, that previous games have enjoyed, we can perhaps expect more down the line following Monster Hunter Wilds' release. Despite those concerns even in its launch state, Monster Hunter Wilds is an incredible time, whether you're new to the series or a Monster Hunter veteran.

Feb 24, 2025Monster Hunter Wilds maintains its core essence of hunting and forging, but it seems directed at a new audience, softening the difficulty and removing challenges like the Elder Dragons. While enjoyable, it may seem less challenging to veterans, with much of the exciting content postponed for a future expansion. The innovations shine in the game, but the lack of difficulty may demotivate experienced players from utilizing the variety of tools at their disposal, leaving a bittersweet taste as we await updates that will motivate continued hunting.

Mar 16, 2025Monster Hunter Wilds improves on the series by introducing many welcome new features that pave the way for new gameplay strategies, reaching gameplay peaks that have never been so high, while the environments and new monsters are also decidedly fascinating. Despite a graphics engine that fails to properly support the game world and a drop in difficulty that might make purists turn their noses up at it, we are faced with an excellent and enjoyable title, recommended both to newbies and lovers of the franchise.

Feb 24, 2025This is a tough one to review. I put hundreds of hours into Monster Hunter Worlds, which represents what is arguably my favorite game of last gen, and maybe even a top 5 of all time for me. As such, you can imagine how excited I was to play Wilds. Unfortunately, a variety of design oversights holds Monster Hunter Wilds from achieving the high bar set by its predecessors, which shows how fragile the ecosystem of Monster Hunter is when poorly balanced. Wilds is simply far too easy, which means you rarely need to upgrade gear, you don't need to farm mats, you don't need to adjust tactics, or repeat-fight monsters — I'm by no means "pro," but the fact I died only once all the way through to high rank is not representative of the challenge that makes the game's various systems rewarding to use. As epic as the new monsters are, as awesome as the environment design is, and as fun as hunting with friends remains — the core Monster Hunter experience felt a bit degraded in Wilds. Without some balance tweaks, I'm not sure Monster Hunter Wilds will achieve the longevity of its predecessor, but new players may appreciate the gentler learning curve.

Feb 24, 2025As things are at launch if you have a group of friends to play with it will be a fun, albeit easy 30 to 40 hours before you run out of content to push. If they can bring back the grind of needing specific items to have any chance against the toughest monsters then you can add a few points to this final launch score.

Feb 24, 2025Monster Hunter Wilds is another step in the evolution of this growing series featuring updates to the combat, world design, equipment and upgrades, and comes loaded with all sorts of quality-of-life adjustments, making it probably the most accessible entry to date. For veterans, it throws more monsters at you to slay and gear to upgrade beyond the story, and after hours and hours of hunts, the gameplay loop remains addictive. Let the hunt begin!

By expanding its mechanics while making the experience more fluid and dynamic, Capcom brilliantly manages to renew the licence without betraying its DNA. Thanks to an ecosystem constantly changing and an intriguing storyline, this instalment is a must for hunters in search of adventure and challenges.
