This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Lake is a charming, relaxing story and character driven postal simulator set in a small town in the 1980s. It's not a complex game, very simple as to how it works, but that doesn;t make it a bad thing. The mail posting breaks up the story over two in game weeks where you reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. It has the usual choice making when it comes to dialogue, which can reflect on the relationships you make. The visuals are beautiful and the music that you hear is very nice. The voice acting isn;t too bad either, though on one character, you can tell it's a younger person putting on a voice of an elderly person, but it's not bad, just obvious. The characters are all well made, noone really annoying except for maybe one person, but that's due to the type of character and how they present themselves.

The only complaints I have with the game is that I wish the devs allowed dialogue skipping, as to get 100% acheivements, you have to play through the cutscene on the last day three times and it lasts around 25-30 minutes and gets a bit tedious, choosing the "I have to go" options doesn;t really end that conversation and it still does as it is scripted. And I wish it was a little more expansive. There are a few roads you never go down ever, which is a shame.

All in all, for a very nice game for those who enjoy playing story driven games with no combat, I highly recommend this game. The price for what it is may be a bit much, but it is now on Game Pass, which is a bonus.

Video games originated as leisurely activities but as time goes by they're becoming more time-consuming and attention-demanding, so Lake is a nice break from the usual grind fest with picturesque scenary, a nuanced romance albeit with surface level characterisations and a nice but very limited and repetitive soundtrack playlist.

If you're stressed out whether from work, life or just some other video game, Lake is the perfect getaway that you can pause or pick up whenever you want.

The gameplay is very simple, you drive around a small town delivering mail and parcels whilst occasionally having conversations with the recipients and getting to know them. Personally I prefer it much more than that other overhyped courier simulator.

It is a game about a small town by the lake and its very characteristic characters. The weak points for me were the driving, sometimes a bit awkward, and the music selection being not very varied (funny, because in one of the lines of dialogue, the main character criticizes this too, ahah, that was bit meta). But within what it sets out to do, it was a fun and at times exciting and touching experience, and as I said, very, very relaxing. Perfect game to escape the frenzy of other big games with big boss fights, etc. I will want to play more games from this studio. Expand

I had a great time playing this game. I loved the atmosphere, the characters, the music, the story and the choices we had to make.

I hope more games like this will come out. For points of improvement, I would just mention the fact of fixing slight bugs and putting

Thanks to the developers for this game and this great experience.

Highly relaxing, sometimes too much perhaps, Lake offers an escape of a few hours that is not refused when one seeks a purely restful narrative experience. The interactive story shaped by Gamious also benefits from a great deal of authenticity and choice of dialogues that allow the player to feel truly engaged. Too bad the adventure is based on a pattern that does not evolve enough, a too languid pace and a scenario that fails to touch us fully.

Lake is a good narrative adventure with monotonous gameplay but a fascinating artistic direction that is impossible to ignore.

Lake is a relaxing take on the daily experiences of a rural mailman. Interesting, though monotonous at times.
