Lake is a narrative-driven postal simulator quite unlike any other. With a rich story, wonderful characters a beautiful town to explore, if you’re looking for something to ease your mind, you can’t go wrong.

Lake on Xbox is a charming and refreshingly slow narrative adventure. Although your time in Providence Oaks is over before you know it, it offers what is perhaps a rare and much needed downtime in gaming. While there are some graphical and technical issues present, the experience as a whole succeeds in delivering its humble and largely inconsequential narrative, yet one where choices made actually have real consequence.

Lake is a short and enjoyable story-driven game with interesting mail delivery gameplay that drives you to get to know the townsfolk. The story and interactions provide much lighthearted fun so if you can get past the graphical issues and bugs, there's plenty to make you play Lake over and over so you can see how your decisions influence the people of Providence Oaks.

Overall, Lake is a lovely addition to the narrative adventure genre — even if it doesn’t go so far as to push the boundaries of that genre — and offers a relaxed adventure which could serve as a welcome counterpoint to some of the chaos going on in today’s world. You can almost feel the stresses of Meredith’s city life melting away, although Lake does a good job of not pushing you towards one decision or another. It’s entirely up to you, after exploring Providence Oaks and working your way back into the lives of its people, to decide what Meredith should do next. I had fun in my time as Providence Oaks' mail carrier, and even though that job can feel a little stale at times, Lake's charming inhabitants and its gentle story make it more than worth a visit.

Está bueno, tal vez sea un juego mundo abierto algo simple, pero pues es creado por un estudio indie, a mí me está encantado este juego

After playing it it still went far beyond how much I had hyped it up for myself. Even if my first day with it was buggy, and full of issues I couldnt stop playing it. I just had to finish it. I was caught by surprise the next day though that they patched it to perfection the very next day. I just love the story, characters, music, and vibe that is delivered in this one. Even delivering mail is fun, and feels like something I love doing. Everything about Lake feels like home to me, and I just hate that it had to end. Good thing it has multiple endings that are all as rewarding as the next based on my own decisions. Lake is special. Lake is beautiful. It's one of those games you just shouldn't miss if you love games like Life is Strange or the TellTale series. Why I give Lake a 9 out of 10... Expand

Nah, fam, this game whipped sack. Chill from start to finish. It reminded me of the slower parts of Shenmue in a good way.

It looks nice, but it's so janky to play sometimes. I wish there was more to the story than... what's there, which isn't much. The dialogue choices were pretty meaningless as well. It's a nice and pretty relaxing playthrough if you can turn your brain off, though. Not a bad game, but the game being as one-note as it is makes all the flaws stick out more than they normally might. Expand

With an all around good visual, above average storyline, linear choice making and a terrible programmed gameplay, this indie game screams low budget all over, an light-hearted story awaits those who can endure the dull and repetitive gameplay.

In fact the characters and writingI simply found this to be a boring game designed around a character that I could not relate to in any way. In fact the characters and writing in general just seemed to be too far removed from reality to really get into, which is a bad thing as the game seems to be entirely centered around it's story and character development in what is supposed to be a humble and realistic setting. In fact I think the lack of any real genuine humble mountain town feel is what works against it the most. It's just kind of a ridiculous story with ridiculous characters, but in the most boring way possible. Expand

A relaxing game where you deliver mail and experience some mild drama of the after-school special variety.

It reminded me of a more boring Life is Strange, and even that game often put me to sleep. I fully accept that I'm just not the target audience for this, as I feel like the developers created exactly the game they intended to. I do appreciate the original concept, and that it does something different, but the banality of the dialogue and encounters in this game negate all that. It's like 5 hours of Mr. Rogers delivering mail in his neighborhood.

This game does have a horrible save system, with save files that take up an absurd amount of space and cannot be deleted.
