Jul 15, 2024I can only recommend this game for its approach to Japanese culture in a fun way, allowing you to learn a little more about it. In addition, its varied gameplay combines elements of tower defense, strategy, unit management and RPG overtones in a unique and fascinating way. Without a doubt, one of the great surprises of the year.

Jul 26, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess proves that Capcom's golden period is long lasting. This unique title not only provides a fun and engaging experience, it does so with such ease it's kind of mesmerising. A fun gameplay loop, polished presentation and entertaining story make this a game to remember, as with other works from the same director! If action and strategy combined sounds like a good time then Kunitsu-Gami is a no-brainer; get it now and throw down some sick dance moves in the name of Yoshiro!

Jul 17, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is unlike anything else you'll play in 2024, and that's why it's one of the year's best games.
-
Jul 16, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is so different, so compelling, that it is a joy to play.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kinutsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess marks the return of the more experimental Capcom. A fun game, loaded with interesting mechanics and somewhat challenging if you're not familiar with strategy. It may not be a videogame for everyone, but everyone has the mission to try this interesting and fascinating proposal.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kunitsu-Gami is one of the most exciting titles of 2024 so far, with thrilling combat and strategy in such a beautifully designed world.
-
Jul 22, 2024Kunitsu-Gami’s story is light but effective, with every moment delivered through simple choreography free of dialogue. I was more invested in the upgrade loop than the story and felt it ended without an emotionally satisfying conclusion, but I enjoyed making my way along the path of Mt. Kafuku. Time will tell if Capcom pushes Kunitsu-Gami along the same track as games like Monster Hunter or Resident Evil, but I would be perfectly happy for it to forever exist as an excellent standalone experiment that delivered satisfying results.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess succesfully brings together elements of the tried-and-true strategy and action genres to offer up something truly unique. While there will be debate about how worthwhile the replay value is here, Path of the Goddess leverages some incredible enemy and objective variety to keep things fresh from beginning to end.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is experimental Capcom at its best. While some of the fights can teeter on feeling unfair the majority of the game is a glorious mix of hack-and-slash action with a heavy dose of tower defense. It’s launching directly into Game Pass and is well worth checking out for anyone looking for 14+ hours of a damned good time.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is the much needed risk so much of the games industry refuses to take. It’s an artistic gem that despite some rough edges bursts with creative ideas and a very strong vision. While it may not appeal to everyone, this has all the ingredients for a cult classic.
-
Aug 29, 2024Kunitsugami: Path of the Goddess is a uniquely artistic experience that blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern gameplay. Its distinct style and imaginative world make it stand out, but its unconventional approach may not resonate with everyone. The game’s originality is both its greatest strength and a potential barrier for those seeking a more familiar experience. It’s a must-try for those who appreciate creativity and innovation in gaming, though it might feel too eccentric for some.
-
Aug 1, 2024It resembles nothing else out there right now and we should be grateful Capcom was prepared to give a small team its head in creating such an esoteric concept. It echoes the look of classic Japanese titles of the PS2 era such as Onimusha and Okami – but feels like totally its own thing, for good and for ill.
-
Jul 17, 2024Kunitsu-Gami continues the trend of gameplay excellence that has blessed all of Capcom’s recent releases. There are just some parts outside that feel like they should be more streamlined.
-
Jul 15, 2024You can't help but notice that this game has a nice combination of sound and picture. Kunitsu-Gami is evocative and different, and well worth checking out for anyone missing new twists on the tower defense front.
-
Jul 15, 2024Capcom has succeeded in revitalising the tower defense genre in a surprising way thanks to the setting with Japanese mythology and lots of variety. Thanks to the many upgrades, different unit and monster types, a satisfying progression system and great boss battles, I spent many hours mesmerised by the extremely atmospheric campaign. The reward after battles is that I experience scenes of peace and harmony afterwards. In this way, the game even conveys something of the Japanese philosophy of life. And what tower defense game can you say that about?
-
Jul 15, 2024Capcom's new franchise takes another stab at combining action and strategy game genres, and it does so with great success. This tower-defense-like pits you against varied hordes of enemies across diverse challenge stages dripping with style, and it's a lot of fun to conquer. It can sometimes be frustrating more than invigorating, though.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kunitsu-Gami is exactly the sort of thing we need more of, the kind of game that you kid yourself used to crop up regularly in generations gone by.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a gorgeously grotesque and endearingly cozy adventure that offers a gorgeous setting along with a satisfying blend of tower defense-style strategy and hack-and-slash combat.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a unique strategy experience that draws from traditional Japanese culture to give us an incredibly detailed world to work through, one bite-sized level at a time. The strategy here is tight, the animations and combat look and feel great, and the dancing, music and base-building ensure that there's always something to do in the downtime between Seethe-destroying sorties. Capcom are still on that hot streak, and we are here for it.
-
Jul 15, 2024Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is the guarantee of discovering an original game wrapped in a particularly stylish universe. We like the idea of integrating traditional dances into a world of Japanese folklore which mixes with very elegant choreography and a particularly pleasant bestiary to discover. The game reserves some good surprises to renew a gameplay loop that maintains the same structure from start to finish, missing the boat in some of its aspects, such as balancing and the progression of the main character. Kunitsu-Gami finally proves to be rather clever in its strategic proposal, with its different systems, its day/night cycle and its limited resources. An experience that will fill your summer for a good twenty hours.

Jul 19, 2024Kunitsu-gami is a great mix of Tower Defense, action and strategy. Capcom has managed to balance all its mechanics so that they do not lose depth and, at the same time, are attractive to all types of players.

Jul 19, 2024While it's difficult to define the true nature of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, it's fair to say that the game skilfully blends genres to create a highly entertaining work of art. Admittedly, you shouldn't expect to discover a detailed story, and you should definitely overlook the repetitiveness of the first few levels. The richness of the title is based on a solid concept that evolves in a rewarding way over time. Battles become more intense, but also more strategic, thanks to the successive contributions impacting on the gameplay. In the end, the journey to this strange Japanese mountain holds some nice surprises, or at least enough of them to make you want to return occasionally to hunt down more Seethe hordes!
