My biggest complain is the frame rate, for a physics base game, locked 30fps is unacceptable, especially on the Xbox series x. I understand there’s raytracing, but there’s triple a games with way better graphic and still runs on 60fps with raytracing.

Next complain is the gameplay, the developers has turn essentially what’s a hamster ball game into a frustrating fish ball simulator.

There’s absolutely no way to turn when you are going in one direction, and you basically have to pray that you bump into something to allow you to change direction.

The game just isn’t fun, there’s no sense of accomplishment because you will be fighting against the game the whole play through instead of improving your skills.

The game's charm ultimately holds it up and prevents it from being a total nightmare. It's goofy and cute, contrasting the potentially oppressive nature of the gameplay. It has heart and echoes the basic premise of Finding Nemo, albeit without Pixar's emotional touch. I Am Fish can also be exhausting thanks to its intentionally frustrating controls. Maybe that's the point, but sometimes it doesn't work and just creates an infuriating experience with no satisfying outcome when the player overcomes it. If it weren't for the game's varied levels and quirky scenarios, it's likely that I Am Fish would sink under that weight, but thanks to excessive charm, it still manages to get enough right to justify a look from anyone with enough patience to appreciate it.

There’s an enjoyable, well presented adventure on offer with I Am Fish which undeniably has charm. However, the experience is inconsistent thanks to some questionable controls.

Hopefully fixes are on the way for its technical issues because otherwise, I Am Fish is a fun and charming physics puzzle title. This game feels like the next evolution of the comedy sim genre that’s replacing the wonky, janky nodding goats and intentionally poor control schemes for a more deliberate style of comedy that’s much more accessible, interesting and polished.
