    Sadly but it is the same game but with the open World of an Assassin’s Creed. And we all know What that means. It is a game that arrives 4-5 years late.

    Honestly, a step in the right direction for 343. Sucks that it didnt come out with forge, co-op, or firefight but, in terms of gameplay and story, this is very much Halo. would give a true score of 7.5/10 but people are just lambasting this game with zeros instead of a real score.

    Halo, its finished...No I think we are just getting started.

    My favorite Campaign since the original Trilogy even though I like Reach and 4. Chiefs portrayal has never been better, the weapon is really fun and the pilot too. Play it, enjoy the multiplayer, everything will be better with time even. I am looking forward to a story continuation with a positiv feeling like I thought    Halo, its finished...No I think we are just getting started.

    Halo infinite is more of the same old Halo. That is not a necessarily bad thing but after 5 years and 500 million dollars you would expect to see a flawless, longer game. The campaign only takes about 6-7 hours to complete and I recommend that you avoid the physical copy of this game because the disc does not come with a full version of the game. Graphics are not next gen so if you wereHalo infinite is more of the same old Halo. Terrible unfinished game without coop, no firefight, no flood, no forge, no customization without a paywall, no biome diversity, they lied with the trailers again with those beautiful deer and rhinos. A total disaster of a campaign in which they try to redeem Cortana but fail miserably since she’s basically a genocidal maniac. Halo reach is still the best halo multiplayer game ever. 343 knows this game will not last 10 years and that’s why they are planning that secret spin off they have in mind. Halo has never been the same. The campaign was rocky and lame, the multiplayer is simply not finished and overall this is simply a disgrace of a game and a terrible experience. 343 is laughing at us by believing they could pull it off, they never learned what made halo great. No assassinations, no medal tracking, no functional custom games, no mission selection and we have so many fanboys defending this disaster of a game and it’s so sad to watch and it’s to hard to see because the fan base loves halo, even when the game is bad. 343 should’ve never been allowed to maker another halo game after halo 5.… Expand

No ability to turn off cross-play, important because PC is being plagued by hackers who you can't report in-game. Overpriced cosmetics. Barely any customization options when compared to previous games. Points scored and winning doesn't matter. No stats. The list goes on. For a game that's been in development for six years, I am very disappointed and hope for a dense patch to fix a number of issues.    … Expand

    This is not a 2021 game. Not even a 2018 game. The open world is small and empty. Everything is slow and come on... The hook is not an innovation. Stop being fooled by some minor improvements. Xbox serie X deserve so much better. I'm playing on pc game pass, but be honest what will be your grade if you paid it 69 dolars?

I was at the end of the first mission were you use the grapple to escape the burning ship and I guess I grappled and fell to a platform that you can’t escape from and unfortunately the devs didn’t take into account this and I auto saved on that platform and had to restart literally the entire game at that point. I was extremely upset that the devs didn’t iron out this gameplay issue in the **** tutorial level. WORST experience I’ve had in a video game in decades. I’ve never been more disappointed with a game. I just wasted 45 minutes having to replay the opening level for **** sake!… Expand

The fact that they made the banished the main villain of halo now instead of hell idk the FLOOD or wait for it CORTANA is just disgusting! Played through the whole damn game to find out that they choose this as the new way for halo isTo me at least the campaign is trash! Story is choppy and poorly written!     We have reached the state where Halo gameplay and story no longer feel like Halo. Everyone praises this game as a return to form after Halo 5, but if anything it continues along the trajectory of shallow story, horribly muddled lore, and repetitive and gimmicky gameplay. I suspect the next game in the series will be "Assassin's Creed: Halo"

This is something I feel most Halo fans are used to over the life of the game, but it is still a little thin even by that standard.     If you're expecting familiar characters, you're out of luck. Chief is the ONLY returning character, except for very brief flashbacks of cortana, and one flashback that contained Halsey. Some parts of the game look nice. The environment is visually unimpressive and monotonous. The open world content is all bland and uninteresting. The campaign plot is.... weak at best.

    The only solution is to delete game from console or PC. So I did it.

    Shame they messed up the multiplayer so bad. Campaign is good and yet also has hit detection issues. Should have been in production another year and they just shouldn't have announced it till it was actually ready. Halo 3 had better hit reg, also this event garbage? WTF is that? The devs have shown a total disregard for player feedback, sometimes giving an inch here and there but outright ignoring the biggest issues or even acting condescending towards the community for daring to give feedback. Their PR people on Twitter/Reddit have been quiet lately, which is good because anytime they open their mouths all that comes out is a million excuses on why the game is in the state it's in.
    But there's a war in Ukraine, how can we expect the American-based devs to actually work through these trying times like the rest of us? Yea, that was genuinely an excuse given.
    The biggest issue here is the lack of content but it's just the tip of the iceberg- the most work has clearly gone into pushing microtransactions, with the battlepass being gutted right before launch. Season 2 was delayed from the getgo but the game still changed it's UI elements on the day season 2 would've hit- and even now you can find "Season 2" written in various places around the menus. They claimed to have fixed the awful ranking system and were resetting it with "a big update"- this happening the day Season 2 would've gone live, meaning the rank system was already set-up to reset and they literally did nothing.
    The gameplay here is solid at its core and that's the only thing leaving at least a little hope for the future. But 343 has shown an unprecedented level of incompetence here, even compared to their past ventures- no forge yet and it's still a long way off, not to mention the lack of co-op campaign. Microsoft needs to either give the project to a different studio or completely clean house in 343, removing all of the upper-level execs and putting in people who can actually make the once headling title for Xbox an actually decent game.

    I don't know what they were going to release in 2020, when it was originally going to come out- but considering how horribly barebones this is and their complete lack of being able to do anything because "the UI can't handle it" (actual quote), I'd be surprised if there even was a game past the demo they showed. Pitiful excuse of a Halo title, and the playerbase will continue to drop further and further as the game falls into inevitable irrelevancy.    … Expand

    Halo Infinite is an absolute travesty of a game, I have no idea how all of these moron critics have this thing an 87, clearly Microsoft is paying for these reviews. It's nothing more than a reskin of any other Ubi-junk open world copy/paste chore game. Multiplayer is god awful and the game has less than no content. Do not play.

    This game was the biggest disappointment for me this year easily. the game had no content at launch and the physical version of this game is tied to DRM which means you don't own anything and greedy-ass Microsoft can make your game stop working if they wanted to. Please do not go buy a Xbox series s or x just to play this crap. Go buy a ps5 to play the last of us remake.

    Unfinished product that was rushed through development. I can solemnly say that this game isn't worth putting time into unless it's only the campaign, which most certainly isn't Bungie levels of quality, but there being a lack thereof better options in this day and age speaks volumes as to where the industry is heading right now. Maybe try out an indie game?

    At it’s core the game is fun but the content dries up really fast. Unless you enjoy spending money on cosmetics 343 has added basically nothing to the game in the year since release. Microsoft should’ve fired 343 after Halo 4. They clearly do not understand what Halo fans want.

    If the open-world concept had been better utilized and if the writers had added more interesting characters to the story, Infinite could have easily been one of the best Halo games ever. The shootouts are highly entertaining and the open world brings new tactical possibilities. The multiplayer is just as good, being slightly faster than before. [Issue#317]

    Halo is back to its best with Halo Infinite, tight controls, and seriously thirst-quenching gunplay that feels so intuitively satisfying. Traversal has been improved hugely by the addition of the grappleshot, allowing Master Chief to zip around at speed, as well as adding a unique element for multiplayer matches. A particular dampener has to be directed at the online multiplayer, which is riddled with cheaters, but, if they were to be removed then the multiplayer offers a solid free-to-play experience that is fast and frantic. Halo Infinite, alongside a number of other Xbox first-party titles is a great addition to Xbox Game Pass, and it is certainly a marquee game that warrants a subscription to the service.

    There’s not much to do in the open world, but thankfully, it doesn’t play a big role either. Infinite mostly sticks to what makes Halo great: first-person action. Smart level design, great mobility mechanics like grappling hook, and good AI make for some really memorable moments. [Issue#258, p.42]
