    Halo Infinite had the opportunity to cement itself as the dominate multiplayer fps as Halo 3 once did but unfortunately it feels like an unfinished product due to some key missing features and a few mindbogglingly bad design decisions.

    First the stuff that has been removed which was standard in previous games -No campaign co op -Cant replay missions in campaign without starting new    Halo Infinite had the opportunity to cement itself as the dominate multiplayer fps as Halo 3 once did but unfortunately it feels like an unfinished product due to some key missing features and a few mindbogglingly bad design decisions.

    First the stuff that has been removed which was standard in previous games
    -No campaign co op
    -Cant replay missions in campaign without starting new game
    -No split screen multiplayer
    -No dual wielding weapons
    -No forge
    -No slayer or team slayer playlists
    -No swat or infection playlists
    -No griffball
    -Armor customization now costs money
    -No stat tracking
    -No input based matchmaking so you're forced to fight PC sweats
    -Battlepass. I could write pages on how stuff like this is cancer to the gaming industry but I think the prices for armor colors speak for themselves.
    -No spartan laser(seriously what the hell)

    The campaign could have been good if you didn't just go through either bland grey hallways or the same green forest environment the entire game. The story presentation in general was pretty bad, most of the important info is given through audio logs in typical boring open world fashion. Speaking of open world most of the campaign is like a bad far cry game where(you guessed it) you take over bases by killing the same enemies ad nauseum. I give one point for the grapple because its a fun mechanic.

    The multiplayer sucks in all kinds of ways the most obvious of which being the battle pass which is the worst thing to happen to halo but I digress. The Big team battle maps are awful because they don't have any open space to improvise with vehicles, everything must be driven on the predetermined paths which makes everything feel formulaic. Even worse is the game has random vehicle spawns so your team can get screwed by RNG that will sometimes give the losing team game winning vehicles like tanks, its honestly a joke.

    Overall Infinite is an obviously incomplete game that was sold way before it was ready in order to get the jump on battlefield and cod. To me this is the worst Halo game, not just because of the predatory monetization but because its so bland in everything it attempts without any of the polish of the previous halo games. I honestly cannot comprehend why Microsoft continues to let 343 run this series into the ground.    … Expand

    story is pretty disappointing. Its like they started a new storyline in the middle of a storyline. This was an extremely underwhelming campaign, although I did like the weapon and echo 216. What I can say is that this feels like what halo 5 should have been, but its just too little too late. 5 at least felt like it was building up to something, then it all happens in between games and youstory is pretty disappointing. This might be more for newcomers, which I get and welcome, but for long time fans, I don't see how you could be anything but disappointed in the story as it currently stands.… Expand

    reminds me of a free to play game, then again it is a straight to gamepass type of game, so it was never going to have any polish or quality that a real AAA game would have had.

This is probably halo 7,meanwhile halo 6 doesn't exist and there's a mega hole after the story of halo 5.gameplay is terrible, repetitive and boring story with nearly impossible section and bosses even in heroic difficulty. Oh and multiplayer with impossibility to select the game and mode and full of microtransaction is the dead of the franchise

Repetitive one actually with repetitive missions, lifeless environment, with numerous graphical flaws, although they've nailed the gunplay.     It's not technically a new generation, a very short game, an empty and bland open world, a bestiary and weapons mediocre.
    In short, another game spoiled by Microsoft.

    Biggest disappointment of the year. Halv billion dollars for a microsoft exclusive title with last gen graphics and technical issues. 6-5 years of game development and what we get is 8 hours compaign. It's even worse that it cost 70 dollars for a 8 hours game.

    I'm impressed by the AI which is really good. Graphics are nice without being awesome. But this game is boring, sad but true. Story isn't interessant, and as soon as you reach the open map, everything seems dull.

    Ждал эту игру очень давно. Ну и вот получил. Оценку ставлю только за кампанию. Отвратительно. Наиграл 15 часов и больше желания возвращаться в игру нет. Сюжет здесь для галочки. Никакого масштаба, как в том же Масс Эффект, никакой драмы, ни интересных твистов, ничего этого в игре нет. Стрельба конечно здесь классно реализована. Открытый мир просто пустой. Кроме захвата аванпостов, в нем нечего делать. В нем абсолютно ничего не происходит. Один биом, много одинаковых камней, скал и ёлок. Физика в игре откровенно слабая. Попробуйте на вепре сломать даже маленькое деревце, неа, машина вообще ничего не ломает. Тоже самое с танком. Зачем было делать открытый мир, непонятно. Ну и забудьте про интересные побочные квесты. Понравилась стрельба, внедрение в геймплэй крюка. Ну и всё. Ах да, графика, она просто нормальная, ну на моем Xbox Series X не могу сказать, что уж слишком плоха. И да, на Xbox One игра идёт только в 30 ФПС, поэтому будьте к этому готовы.
    Скажу так, Doom Eternal на 2 головы выше Halo Infinite, благо что я по Геймпассу играл в Хэйло, а не покупал её.    … Expand

    The game's story basically threw the halo lore out the window and gave us a convoluted disjointed story. The open world is lifeless and singularly bland. The levels and locations that the missions take place in are repetitive. I understand that CE had repetitive levels as well but this is suppose to be Infinite on the Series X.     In my opinion its a good game but I give 2 all for Masterchief and Soundtracks, and I give low rate because the game is not complete, the motion captures of faces are no good and the graphics are low in most situations.
    This couldn't be Xbox Sign anymore
    Hope microsoft take more care about other IPs

    Honestly, a step in the right direction for 343. Sucks that it didnt come out with forge, co-op, or firefight but, in terms of gameplay and story, this is very much Halo. would give a true score of 7.5/10 but people are just lambasting this game with zeros instead of a real score.

    My favorite Campaign since the original Trilogy even though I like Reach and 4. Chiefs portrayal has never been better, the weapon is really fun and the pilot too. Play it, enjoy the multiplayer, everything will be better with time even. I am looking forward to a story continuation with a positiv feeling like I thought    Halo, its finished...No I think we are just getting started.

The campaign only takes about 6-7 hours to complete and I recommend that you avoid the physical copy of this game because the disc does not come with a full version of the game.     fix the netcode, fix the progression, fix the engine and add some maps. the game is fun but devoid of content, it does not feel like theyve spent 6 years on it (they didnt)

    I enjoyed the singleplayer, it's superb and probably the best Halo singleplayer. The reason for the low score is forced crossplay in multiplayer. For that reason alone multiplayer is not fun when it's not fair.
    Will revisit Halo when coop arrives.

    This is my first time completing a Halo campaign. It’s a good-looking game. Both the interiors and exteriors look great. But that’s the best thing about it. The gameplay is sooo repetitive! Basically, go there, fight some bad guys, and push a button. Rinse & repeat over & over again! By the last two boss fights I was so tired of battling the same enemies that I was really sick of the game.This is my first time completing a Halo campaign. It’s a good-looking game. Both the interiors and exteriors look great. But that’s the best thing about it. The gameplay is sooo repetitive! Basically, go there, fight some bad guys, and push a button. Rinse & repeat over & over again! By the last two boss fights I was so tired of battling the same enemies that I was really sick of the game. That said it feels a bit barren and that sense of beautifully crafted purposeful levels is gone. You could even say it suffers from Ubisoft syndrome. That said it’s still pretty fun and runs great across a plethora of console and pc set ups.

    The multiplayer on the other hand honestly has little to nothing redeeming about it. Thought I must admit the core game play is great. It now a free to play like fortnite or many other current multiplayer offerings. The customization is limited , and any meaningful customization is behind agressive micro transactions, want a unique helmet for your Spartan 20 dollars. Want the color blue 10 dollars.

    There is also a battle pass you can buy but again the progression is painful and the only meaningful way of making progression on it is through doing challenges. This challenges harm the game by making it a hassle to level up your battle pass and also as a sideffect forced the game to have a limited playlist out of the users control and solely up to 343.

    Honestly I couldn’t recommend anyone purchase the physical full Price item. You gain nothing worthwhile and at malt the campaign is only worth 30 bucks.    … Expand

    The whole game feels slow and cumbersome, the campaign is yet another uninspired and rushed by-the-numbers fps that doesn't even try to stand out.
    It's halo with a new coat of paint. Nothing new, nothing earth shattering, just more of the same. Good if you like it, uninteresting if you don't.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Halo Infinites world is breathtaking and the gameplay is loads of fun. The story…..yikes. Someone made a comment that the story “could have been an e-mail” and that is the truth.

    The story can be summed up in one sentence “Master Chief experiences periodic “schizophrenic” episodes from “data” and then kills bad guy”. Most of the campaign is collecting power cores as someone whispers in your ear and Echo-216 wets himself every 5 minutes.

    It also portrays Master Chief as if he’s in some love-tangled relationship with Cortona. Like an ex-girlfriend that you can’t get over and constantly think about. Echo-216 is an empty character that brings nearly nothing to the story. I understand that his character is to provide comedic relief and humanize Master Chief, but it felt unnecessary. The Weapon “…” “……..” (if you play the campaign you’ll understand this comment).

    Overall, the story felt like it had no purpose or soul. It was average at best for a flagship game that took 6 years to develop. I’m glad I didn’t spend $60 for what could have been “an e-mail”.    … Expand

    Waiting six years for an intro making me quite disappointed. 343 just doesn't care to give the closure to reclaimer trilogy. I mean after halo 5 and halo wars 2, I expect to see blue team, red team , osiris, arbiter , spirit of fire and infinity fighting together against Cortana and banished. Instead they just keep bringing new enemy which we don't get to see in campaign.

    I am really hoping I can increase this rating in the near future. The game is just not finished to put it simply. No split screen anywhere to be seen is the first hurtle to get over. But they claim that will come. Multiplayer is missing a lot of game modes and has a limited number of maps. But they claim they are working on that.     No forge, feels like the devs have abandoned this game already and most importantly no co-op, it got delayed a whole year and it looks like no progress was made. Multiplayer its the only reason why it doesn’t get a 0.

    I bought the game on the promise of local co-op. It was the biggest reason for my purchase, and I decided that I would forgive them for not including it in Halo 5. This week they decided to cancel the development of the feature.. after many delays. Never buying a Halo game again - at least until it is given to a different studio with people who understand the fan base.

    Complete and utter garbage! No content and the little that is there barely works as intended. Horrible servers and rubber banding issues, hitreg issues, damage is all over the place. Bugs left and right and if you play with a controller you basically have an aimbot at your disposal. Complete joke!

    The Halo 5 ending promised an epic ending. This is not the case. Few types of locations. Local conflict. looks as if the game was made in two years, nothing was done. There is only one good thing in the game - shooting. This is not a AAA continuation of the legendary series and the completion of the plot of 4, 5 parts.

    The campaign is yet another open world with points dotted across the map, however to meaningful character progression or unlockable means all these points of interest are not interesting and there is nothing meaningful you gain by exploring them. I played for 3 hours before I lost interest.

    The MP is one of the greediest and grindiest cash grabs I've seen in a while.

But what they really mean is they ship and incomplete product, and patch it on the go until it is deemed "good enough" and charge for a ton if overpriced "skins". See Ryse, Halo 5 Guardians, Halo Wars 2, Halo Infinite, Gears of War 4 & 5, Forza Motorsport 5, 6 and 7, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, and even under MS Publishing Rise of the Tomb Raider had Loot Boxes. Halo Infinite is a oriented example of Xboxs greed. While the story is solid, it is nothing but a predatory Halo Storefront

    Bad optimization on PC, Series S. 30 fps animations, cutscenes with lags. Nothing special about this game. Another open world game with question marks on the map. No interesting locations, everything is grey. One thing that pushes this game further is gun play. Every other things is mediocre.

The guns feel worthless on normal difficulty. They have no impact. Every gun you pickup feels worthless against whatever you are fighting. The shotgun is pointless, The bulldog now takes 3 shots to kill most enemies and it'S ammo isI really don't understand how this game is getting such high scores. This game is horribly flawed. The shotgun is pointless, The bulldog now takes 3 shots to kill most enemies and it'S ammo is severely limited. The number of cheap shots from the enemies is insane. I beat halo 3 on the highest difficulty and I had less problems doing that. At least I was able to drive the freaking vehicles from a to be without have to be frickin Magellan. The Scorpion tank can't drive down the road ways because of crap design. The mongoose steers like is covered in anal lube and bacon grease. So you have a bunch of crap weapons and vehicles on a crap map filled with cheap enemies and a storyline that has zero interest to me and is so poorly connected to the previous game that it is absolutely pointless. Here is the games biggest sin. You can't adjust difficulty at all and after you start the campaign. You finding this too hard? Screw You! Start Over! This a a vomit stain on the franchise. Go play the Master Chief collection and 4 instead. ODST was far better then this, Halo Wars was better than this. This is Call of duty with aliens. this might as well be made by modern day Bungie it has the same quality and the same number of microtransactions. If you want to play it. Do so on game pass.     Halo Infinite was in development too long for what 343i delivered. The campaign is boring, uninspired with a lackluster story and the multiplayer lost me after two weeks. Microsoft should close 343 industries and sell this franchise to a developer who is capable of producing quality Halo titles. At the very least, show Bonnie Ross the door.

    If the open-world concept had been better utilized and if the writers had added more interesting characters to the story, Infinite could have easily been one of the best Halo games ever. The shootouts are highly entertaining and the open world brings new tactical possibilities. The multiplayer is just as good, being slightly faster than before. [Issue#317]

    Halo is back to its best with Halo Infinite, tight controls, and seriously thirst-quenching gunplay that feels so intuitively satisfying. Traversal has been improved hugely by the addition of the grappleshot, allowing Master Chief to zip around at speed, as well as adding a unique element for multiplayer matches. A particular dampener has to be directed at the online multiplayer, which is riddled with cheaters, but, if they were to be removed then the multiplayer offers a solid free-to-play experience that is fast and frantic. Halo Infinite, alongside a number of other Xbox first-party titles is a great addition to Xbox Game Pass, and it is certainly a marquee game that warrants a subscription to the service.

Smart level design, great mobility mechanics like grappling hook, and good AI make for some really memorable moments. [Issue#258, p.42]
