Mar 13, 2026Greedfall: The Dying World offers an approach to early millennium ERPGs from two very different perspectives. In tactical mode, it is an ode to Baldur's Gate 3, while in concentrated mode, it reminds us of Bioware's work in Star Wars: KotOR, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. In both cases, we find a deep story riddled with decisions and political injustices, multiple scenarios of great beauty, and a large number of characters with different motivations and personalities. Dense at times and somewhat slow, this Greedfall 2 will appeal to those who already enjoyed the original title and those who miss another way of doing RPGs.

Mar 10, 2026There are certainly things to love about GreedFall: The Dying World, but after many hours in its world, I left feeling a little deflated.

Mar 12, 2026GreedFall: The Dying World, unfortunately, misses the mark with an incredibly buggy experience and lacklustre combat, despite a story and world that could have been worth exploring.

Mar 12, 2026Greedfall: The Dying World is an interesting addition the franchise. With a fascinating story, large open world, and excellent audio, this offers plenty of atmospheric gameplay. However, it is let down by performance issues that need ironing out. Once the problems are resolved, this will be a great game.

Mar 13, 2026Greedfall: The Dying World feels like a giant leap backwards for the developers at Spiders. I was over the moon when I had heard that Greedfall was getting a sequel, and while this game delivers in its writing and narrative in parts, it pretty much fails in everything else. Lackluster combat, glacial pacing at the onset and bugs galore spoil what should have been a triumphant return for the studio, especially after the greatness that was their last game; Steelrising. With a little energon and a lot of luck the team can probably right this ship, but I’d wait for a sale before heading off for this one.

Mar 16, 2026GreedFall: The Dying World is an ambitious RPG that pulls off a daring narrative gamble: reversing the perspective to offer a first-hand experience of displacement and colonial domination. This choice lends the game an undeniable intensity and uniqueness. The writing is solid, the themes are relevant, and the character progression offers welcome freedom. However, the fragmented structure of the quests, the excessive back-and-forth, and the labyrinthine level design regularly slow the narrative momentum. Technical issues on Xbox, notably stuttering and overly noticeable dynamic resolution, further accentuate this sense of incompleteness. GreedFall remains a brave and rich work with strong intentions. But its uneven execution still prevents it from fully achieving the scale that its narrative ambition foreshadowed.
