Where so many games make me feel like I’m left wanting, Forza Motorsport left me feeling excited for the future. Sure, they’ll continue to add cars, tracks and races to this existing title, but seeing where we are now compared to where I thought was the top was nearly a decade ago leaves me feeling hopeful that as technology continues to press forward, Forza Motorsport will always be right there pushing it.

It’s beautiful, brilliant to play and packed full of cars worth tinkering with. All in one easy-to-access package. This title tops the podium.

Forza Motorsport is not only a world class racing sim, but it is a welcoming, encouraging experience for racers of all abilities. Its desire to help and improve racers is perhaps only surpassed by the technology the game is built on. Pure racing at its best.

Turn 10 Studios puts the pedal fully to the metal to deliver the ultimate in refined driving with Forza Motorsport, a masterpiece of the genre that exudes speed and style.

Forza Motorsport really does create a platform that leaves an open track to expand on. This is the easiest Forza to get into and it performs at such a high level, you may forget it's just a game. There's nothing standing between you and the racetrack.

An excellent companion piece to the open-world, frantic off-road action of Forza Horizon, Forza Motorsport is the next generation of racing that I’ve been waiting so very long for.

Forza Motorsport is back in the best possible way, thanks to a simply fabulous technical achievement, a rewarding and tremendously exciting driving model, and plenty of new features that manage to modernize the entire racing game genre; the RPG-like development system is superb, and the system that penalizes players who race unfairly in online competitions is excellent. Yet another love letter from Turn 10 to the world of racing, and it is bound to make you completely fall in love with it.

Forza has done so much for Motorsport, and hopefully when they expand on this platform and provide more driving content we can very well see the expansion of things such as legendary races that are recreated. When you decide to set out to create what could arguably be easily regarded as the premier driving simulator, Turn 10 did exactly that. Forza Motorsport is a phenomenal driving game that combines mind bending physics for driving accuracy melded with an audio and video presentation that is second to none. When you can combine those two elements to near perfection like Forza Motorsport has done, it goes without saying that Turn 10 has done an absolutely amazing job paying attention to and focusing on making you a better driver. That is the ultimate goal of any Motorsport game, and Forza wears the crown.

Forza Motorsport has returned with the determination to go back to basics. And it's something that has suited it very well. A game where physics are once again important, where driving is once again the protagonist. An experience that encourages driving, in its campaign mode and with the renewed multiplayer mode.

Forza Motorsport reboot built on a solid foundation that can be supported and improved with updates for years to come, but even at its current state, its the most technologically advanced racing game and is the best Forza game in terms of physics and car handling yet.

There is so much to love about Forza Motorsport, that it is an easy sell. The game looks, races and - most importantly - feels absolutely bang on, and while I don’t love the new upgrade system, it’s something to get used to.

After many years Forza Motorsport returns triumphantly, offering a truly great driving model, huge selection of cars and beautiful visuals. Nevertheless, there are some small technical kinks present and a slight shortage of racing tracks, issues that will most probably be ironed out in the next months.

All said, you're getting a lot of bang for your buck with Forza Motorsport, and as it stands, I just don't know how Turn 10 can up the ante on the next one.

While I still think Forza Horizon is the better series, there is no denying Forza Motorsport has the best driving around. Racing fans should pick up Game Pass and give it a go.

Despite the requirement of having to participate in practice sessions, Forza Motorsport is a near-perfect racer that’s worth its weight in gold. It takes advantage of the capabilities of the Xbox Series X and then some, pushing the boundaries of what’s expected of the modern console racing sim. If you’re a PC gamer or owner of an Xbox Series X/S and a racing fan, Forza Motorsport is a must-own for fans of the genre.

This extra long pit stop for the series has raised certain expectations, but secretly this is just Forza Motorsport 8. Fortunately, Forza Motorsport still has that wonderful magical combo of arcade and simulator gameplay.

Forza Motorsport is an addictive, shockingly fun, extremely impressive visual showcase for the franchise. I was amazed by how often I wanted to play more, get more slick cars, and keep striving to perform better.

Forza Motorsport is one of the best racing video games in history and it shines where it needs to. Turn 10 has created a monster whose engine roars, motivating and intimidating at the same level.

Like a Formula 1 car, Forza Motorsport has quite radically rethought its set-up to reduce the gap to its rivals. The new career introduces RPG components designed to increase the bond between the player and their vehicles: the fleet of vehicles is still large, but the focus has shifted to the customization of performances. The manual calibration of difficulty and aids makes it suitable for any type of player, offering in any case an intriguing challenge thanks to the AI of the drivatars. Visually it's impressive, but there's still something missing to match the realism of GT.

With its gorgeous visuals, cars that feel amazing on the track thanks to an excellent physics model, and an approachable and fresh RPG-like progression system that will get its hooks into most players that get behind the wheel, Forza Motorsport is easily one of the best racing games of the year.

Turn 10 Studios' flagship racing series has never been better. With exceptional gameplay, gorgeous graphics, a compelling Career Mode and a swathe of options, Forza Motorsport is simply incredible.

Forza Motorsport 8 is masterfully made. The driving feels fantastic. The races at first are exhilarating. Plus, all multiplayer modes are enjoyable, and hours will pass in the blink of an eye.

Forza Motorsport has been worth the wait. While this isn't a huge departure from previous entries in the series, changes have been made that make it more rewarding. It's a racing sim that caters to both those who want serious online competition and single-player fun. And what's more, it aims to make players better drivers with its safety rating system and its approach to car upgrades. Throw on top noticeably improved physics and sublime visuals, and you have one of the best racing sims currently available. With more content set to arrive after launch, it's only likely to get better, too.

Although it may lack personality, Forza Motorsport is one of the most technically impressive games in existence. The handling and generosity of this iteration make it the best car game around.

Forza Motorsport is terrific, an enviable sim racer that looks and sounds incredibly impressive and has loads of cars to master. It has some foibles but there's real depth to be explored here, and its time-of-day wizardry is a superb asset.

More than 500 cars, 20 completely redesigned tracks, each with different variations, an already rich career and addictive multiplayer. And that's just the beginning of the new Forza Motorsport. Turn 10 is truly delivering a next-generation racing game that strips away the bells and whistles to focus on the driving and the experience. You're going to drive a lot, you're going to improve, you're going to unlock new things and you're going to have fun. That's the most important thing.

All in all, Forza Motorsport is a fantastic racer, offering its most comprehensive, realistic and spectacular racing experience ever. It was a long wait, but it was absolutely worth it.

As Aston Martin did at the beginning of the season in Formula 1, Turn 10 Studios has made a clean slate and created a car with a very promising future. Due to its game-as-a-service nature, there is room for improvement, but Forza Motorsport is an impressive driving simulator that also adapts to all types of audiences.

Forza Motorsport may not have the most in-depth career mode, but it executes nearly every aspect of the package exceptionally well. Though some of the progression and dynamic visual elements fall short of the realism the rest of the title achieves, Forza Motorsport currently vies for the pole position in the sim-racer field.

Forza Horizon is visually a masterpiece. Its audio is excellent. The production used all its resources to demonstrate all its graphic potential. The point is that as a simulation game, it is terrific but could be more excellent and as accurate as its direct competition. We do not mean that Forza Horizon stops being an enjoyable and entertaining experience. We have one of the most attractive titles that can be played on an Xbox Series X or S, which is the most important thing.

Overall, if you enjoyed previous Forza Motorsport titles then you’re again going to enjoy this one too. It has plenty of racing, lots of tracks, and even more cars to be getting involved in. Forza Motorsport is slowly pushing more and more towards that sim racer but there is still plenty of the arcade feel to keep things accessible to newcomers and being an Xbox Studios title you can guarantee long after you’ve finished up the single-player content, there will be countless weekly additions of multiplayer events to keep you coming back for more should you wish to make this your number one go to racer. For me though, it’s simply just more Forza.

Forza Motorsport is technically and playfully a blast, but the overall package doesn't quite reach the class of its predecessors.

If it works don't fix it, and Forza Motorsport proves that very same philosophy can be one to follow. It may not be a turning point within the Forza franchise, but it is a damn good game that improves enough over its predecessor to certainly consider it a better game. The gameplay is impeccable and it is incredibly accessible even for those who do not play with a racing wheel, plus it most likely is the best game in Xbox from a visual standpoint. All in all, Forza Motorsport definitely becomes a must-have within Xbox's catalog.

Forza Motorsport is a superb racing sim that marks a welcome return to the genre. If you're a gearhead or simply enjoy a more realistic approach to racing then I highly recommend checking it out although those averse to the genre will likely remain unswayed.

Forza Motorsport is an ode to motorsport. Here it's still about petrol, roaring engines, gravel traps and old-fashioned circuits. It is the representation of a culture as it once was: loud, theatrical, bold and yet also a bit masculine. It leads to an intriguing game: never before has it been so cool and exciting to race through the fog at Spa Francorchamps with a souped-up Toyota Celica or a factory version of the Porsche 911 GT3. The only thing missing? A good and varied single player.

The steps forward made by Forza Motorsport in terms of the driving system and simulation care are evident, including the important work done to further improve the drivers' AI, which as far as we are concerned reaches peaks of excellence, like the visual presentation . Despite the renewed car upgrade system, the career mode proved to be more tied to the past than we hoped and at times seemed lacking in bite, but this shouldn't be misleading: we are faced with a solid, satisfying and fun, which certainly won't disappoint fans of racing games.

With this Forza Motorsport 2023 edition, Turn 10 resets the counters and delivers a car racing game with a titanium chassis capable of carrying the license for several years. Beautiful, fluid, offering very good "simcade" driving sensations, it offers the right modes with the necessary parameters to satisfy almost everyone. Both ultra permissive (in its challenge) and restrictive (in the improvements to be unlocked), this reboot is a bit of a search. Aiming at a very wide audience thanks to its numerous options, it is nonetheless dedicated to fans of pretty cars, those who are able to go beyond its definitively austere appearance (and the absence of urban circuits) to let themselves be captivated by the joys of motorized competition, both solo and online. Nice job.

The reboot of Forza Motorsport has been a success. Its extensive support options and accessibility settings make it perhaps the most suitable racing game for beginners. The changes to the gameplay and rules also make for a more realistic racing experience. Unfortunately, this long-awaited six-year wait has failed to fully showcase its highlights.

Forza Motorsport is a delightful racing game. The extensive career mode provides plenty of racing fun, online it all works fine and the amount of cars makes it a Valhalla for car enthusiasts. Add to that the fact that audiovisually it is really enjoyable. Does that make the game perfect? Not quite unfortunately, the AI is not optimal and still needs some work, and also the career mode can use some more variety. Nevertheless, this is an excellent sim racer on the Xbox that has a lot to offer.

As a driving game, Forza Motorsport is fantastic, but the lack of content and even ambition after a six-year break makes the return a bit more overwhelming than we expected.

Forza Motorsport returns to the track with some high quality sim racing, a healthy amount of content, impressive presentation, and enough tweaks to make its familiar formula feel fresh again.

The lighting model, the masterfully handled camera angles and, of course, the maniacally rendered car models really blur the line between game and reality. The driving model is traditionally great, with the cars showing weight, performance and, in the older models, design flaws. [Issue#330]

This is a fantastic racing sim game that like its fierce competition over at Sony, knows how to balance arcade gameplay with some realism in regard to weather and track conditions. It also helps that it looks and plays great.

Turn 10’s 8th kick at the Forza Motorsport can should have plenty of appeal to gearheads looking for a photorealistic, physically accurate simulation of high speed racing. And since it’s included with Xbox Game Pass, there’s no reason for subscribers not to take it for a test spin.

Yes, Forza Motorsport looks and feels great and offers a lot of content. Unfortunately, there is a lack of variety here and there, which ultimately doesn't detract from the fun on the track. For me, there is still a lack of a certain something that really rounds everything off. So, for the time being, you are left with the impression that you are already getting a very good launch version, but that its full potential will only unfold at some point when all the DLCs and other content have been released.

The latest installment of the semi-simulation series represents a reboot of sorts, managing to finally finds its own path and at least partially escape the 'Gran Turismo clone' stigma. Forza Motorsport provides plenty of satisfying racing, but also suffers from lack of content.

Forza Motorsport is a beautiful and fast experience, but one that slows itself down to the pace you need while still keeping you solely behind the wheel. You can opt for as little or as much assistance and realism as you desire, and players of all kinds will find exactly what they want from the game. Whether it’s a simulation that you will have to master, or something where you just want to hold accelerate and feel the thrill of racing in a high-speed competitive sport without having to think too much about it, Forza Motorsport is prepared to suit those needs.

Forza Motorsport’s comeback is an impressive one after its divisive seventh entry and a welcome return to the sim-lite formula after back-to-back entries in the Horizon sub-series. With highly accessible racing and gorgeous visuals and lighting, it’s another strong exclusive for Xbox consoles in 2023.

After six long years, Forza Motorsport is off the lift and back in our lives. It looks great, feels great, sounds great, and it’s brought with it the most impressive multiplayer we’ve seen in the series so far. With 500 cars and 20 track locations it’s hardly a small start but, now positioned as a platform, Forza Motorsport has the potential to expand into a seriously rich racing destination over the coming years. If Flight Simulator on four wheels is the plan, I’m here for it. First on the list of improvements Turn 10 should focus on is revamping the new RPG-inspired upgrade system that turns progression into an unnecessarily long road ahead of each individual car, and maybe bringing back the joys of split-screen multiplayer racing to complement the excellent online modes.

Some of the visuals, particularly the background visuals, were a bit underwhelming. The inability to disable crossplay makes me nervous to play online with such a prevelance of mods & hacks in other crossplay games. And the forced practice mode in Tours of Motorsport is frustrating and will likely limit the amount of tours I actually end up completing. It’s just too time consuming and, well, boring, to keep practicing the same track over and over. With that said, there is still plenty to enjoy here, and well-worth a try if you’re already subscribing to Xbox Game Pass.

Forza Motorsport (2023) isn't just a new beginning for the legendary simulation racing franchise, it also represents a previously unreached peak for the series. Turn 10 Studios have done an incredible job delivering one of the best core driving experiences of any game, but not everything has been properly rebuilt from the ground up.

Forza Motorsport ticks all the right boxes for just about any racing fan – honing in its focus on the love of cars and offering up a balance between approachable racing and hardcore simulation. Progression changes might rub some the wrong way, and its AI drivers desperately need more practice time, but a long hiatus for the franchise has birthed a solid baseline for the future.

A generous and lavish racer, with thrilling driving, that wants you for the long haul.

A fabulously detailed racing game with a huge car roster and engrossing single-player modes, slightly marred by forcefully encouraging you to perform practise laps before races.

Forza Motorsport cements itself as one of the best-looking and most approachable racing simulators to date. It can sometimes feel too clinical, but the core driving is perfectly fine-tuned. It’s a tremendous first-party visual showpiece that demonstrates the power of the Xbox Series X and provides a consistent sense of progression to modify the experience. The work was worth it; Forza Motorsport seems well-equipped to handle the long live service journey ahead.

Like previous installments, Forza Motorsport is an engaging racing game with the kind of depth and detail to satisfy both serious and casual drivers.

Forza Motorsport is a very well made racer with solid graphics, top performance (bar a few infinite loading screens), brilliant menus that feel intuitive and quick, and a decent physics engine powering the whole thing.

Overall, despite some criticisms, Forza Motorsport is more than worth your time. Developer Turn 10 Studios has crafted what is an exemplary racing experience. It feels faithful to the games that have come before it while also improving on an already working formula. Even if the career mode isn't as meaty as I'd like (and really, who cares?), there's something to be said about a game that's so fundamentally sound it brings you back to simpler times. Indeed, it makes you feel wildly free.

I’m not sure I’ve ever played a racing game that feels better than Forza Motorsport. Whether you’re controlling the fastest car in the game or the slowest, it’s compelling to push each vehicle to its limits and keep finding ways to improve your ride. I wish the experience around this core gameplay found more ways to create a compelling journey, but fans of the genre are mainly coming for the racing itself, and they’ll find everything they need in Forza Motorsport.

Forza Motorsport feels like a game that's set up for the future. The technical underpinnings on show in Turn 10's Xbox Series X|S debut are remarkable, and this sort of solid foundation is always a good start. While there's still hours and hours of fun to be had with what is here, genre fans will quickly be reminded of what's missing - making the new FM feel like a launch pad for what's to come rather than a complete experience at launch. When Turn 10 gets around to adding more unique career events, tracks and bonus features, this could become one of the very best sim racers ever to grace Xbox. For now, it's a brilliant effort.

Turn 10 Studios has brought the Forza franchise to a new generation with aplomb, and although not quite all the updates entirely land, it's a tremendous racing game that could be nearly perfect with just a handful of tweaks.

Sometimes it's worth trying to reinvent the wheel, and Turn 10's renewed Forza Motorsport takes the series in some new and worthwhile directions. The 'CarPG' levelling and pre-race practice sessions really help to foster familiarity and confidence with cars and tracks over time, and Forza is now on a par with Gran Turismo and others for the online race structure. It all sets the foundations for years of new cars, tracks, races and further improvements that I'm looking forward to seeing.

Forza Motorsport brings great experiences to fans of racing sims thanks to its fresh look at new game modes that takes you on cold, warm or rainy challenges either in broad daylight or at night.

The new Forza is the best in the series to date when it comes to the look and feel of serious motorsport racing. Its relative lack of modes means it's something of a one-trick pony at launch, but that trick is an impressive one.

This reboot of Forza Motorsport is impressive visually. This is genuinely the best-looking game I have seen in a while. The rebuilt tracks are great, the racing feels good, the career mode has plenty to see and do, but I can’t help but feel like this isn’t the leap I was expecting.

Forza Motorspot may not blow most players away with this latest, and indeed greatest installment, but at the same time it’s also hard not to be impressed by what’s on show here. It’s a little risk-averse, but also polished to a high sheen and laser focused on providing a realistic and detailed racing simulation to its core audience, and I think most players will be more than happy with what’s included in this package.

Make no mistake, Forza Motorsport is a couch racer designed for a gamepad so people looking for a simulation experience need not apply. Overall, Turn 10 has got the job done, delivering a title that looks fantastic and is an enjoyable play. Unfortunately, Forza Motorsport lets itself down in a few areas, mainly the career mode which is very basic as well as (arguably) a focus on road cars which makes it feel more like a track day rather than a serious racer. Forza Motorsport is pretty good, it’s just not yet at the level of its competitors, nor is it as fun as Forza Horizon which puts it in a very difficult position. It’s just not different enough; even the menus are the same and so are the majority of the cars on offer. The online experience was a highlight, and will probably be the key part of the game that will keep me coming back for more.

Forza Motorsport has everything it takes to be the best Forza ever, but no element capable of distinguishing itself from others similar games.

I’m not a car person. Or, if I need to be, the car person in me still prefers Forza Horizon to Motorsport for the stuff around car racing that isn’t just hardcore car racing. I’m certainly no expert, but I think car fans will love this. That said: is it for everyone? No.

Car handling feels great, it’s a definite step up visually, the tracks are all immaculately designed, the amount of car options are fantastic, and it feels like a true next gen racer all around. But the forced timers/practice restrictions in both Career and online multiplayer really pumps the brakes on my enjoyment of this entry so far, making it a little tougher to recommend to everyone.

Forza: Motorsport 2023 is both a fantastic racing experience and an example of everything wrong in the genre at the moment. the driving is better than ever and the visual design is fantastic but the soundtrack, lack of local play and the small number of bugs did detract from the overall experience. It's got a ton of amazing content that makes up for the issues, however, so it is a hearty recommendation to all motor nuts.

The truth is, Forza Motorsport feels like it was released to tick a box on the Game Pass release calendar, rather than it striving to retain its place at the pinnacle of video game racing. And if this is the future of Microsoft's first party games, Game Pass might not be the big deal it's been treated as. Forza Motorsport no longer feels like a love letter to racing car fans, but instead feels like a leaflet someone has shoved through my letterbox.

The game engine here is demonstrably better than Forza Motorsport 7's but, in terms of breadth of gameplay, presentation, general excitement, and enjoyment gleaned from racing the AI cars, the older, now-deleted Forza Motorsport 7 is clearly superior. More content including tracks and event series will be added over time, so it will certainly improve, but right now the career mode here is so sedate and one-note, it's hard to recommend Forza Motorsport's offline mode over any of its peers.
