Sep 22, 2025While it doesn’t solve all of the franchise’s issues, such as how predatory Ultimate Team is with its pay-to-win lootbox mechanics, FC 26 creates two separate playstyles that should satisfy almost any football fan – those seeking the arcade thrills of the fast-paced online modes, and those who want a slower, more tactical single player career as well. The changes to the physics and AI are smart and felt, and the amount of content and polish really has no rivals, making FC 26 the best the franchise has been in years. Authentic Mode truly reignited my passion for the ball, and I can’t wait to finish my review to go back to my virtual dreams of Juventus winning the treble. One can dream, right?

Sep 19, 2025EA has listened to fans and incorporated many of their requests, which is noticeable from the start. It may not be surprising in the first few hours, but the more you play, the more you appreciate the changes, and the harder it becomes to put down the controller.

Sep 29, 2025EA FC 26 is frustrating at times, but there is nothing else that can beat it, and no competition that can deliver such a well crafted experience of football.

Oct 24, 2025EAFC 26 is still the leading football simulation game in the world, and it’s not even close. It’s a shame there is no real competition to keep them on their toes. They are keeping with the ‘if it’s not broke, don’t fix it’ mantra and appeasing their biggest money maker by putting a large amount of focus on the Ultimate Team game mode. They have made just enough graphical and gameplay changes so it can be considered a new game, but barely.

Oct 14, 2025EA takes a cautious step toward evolving the FC series, delivering a high-quality football game with solid mechanics, deep customization, and strong content. However, persistent legacy issues, limited innovation, and questionable choices - like the season pass and offline-only new mode - hold it back. Still, it’s immensely fun and engaging for fans of EA’s football.

Sep 22, 2025EA SPORTS FC 26 takes several steps forward, resulting in an enhanced gameplay experience. The two gameplay styles, Realistic and Competitive, manage to offer players a choice that can meet the needs of different audiences. However, it would have been interesting to allow all Realistic gameplay fans to play in competitive online modes, facing (naturally) only those who use the same gameplay style. That said, the improvements are clear and noticeable—goalkeepers above all—but in general progress has been made in almost every aspect, even if some rebounds during tackles leave something to be desired, and the overwhelming technical superiority of certain players still persists, with the risk of facing opponents who secure victories by endlessly spamming tricks. Aside from that, EA SPORTS FC 26 is a title with a simply boundless amount of content, and it surely has something to offer every football enthusiast—whether it’s for those who can’t resist the temptation of opening packs, those who are satisfied with a quick match every now and then, or those who dream of building their own career as a player or manager. Yes, we are certain that as the months go by, some issues will inevitably arise, but expecting everything to run smoothly in such a vast and ever-evolving title is far from realistic. For now, we step onto the pitch and enjoy EA SPORTS FC 26, thanks to the growth path the development team is taking more and more seriously, year after year.

Sep 19, 2025EA Sports FC 26 doesn’t radically change the formula it has stuck to for years, but it refines it, smoothing out the rough edges and making good use of the wealth of feedback received in recent times. This is a more self-aware and diplomatic entry, clearly aiming to please everyone, striving to be a safe space both for online competition enthusiasts and for lone wolves who love long career modes. Once again, it offers a polished playground, ready to entertain players throughout the entire football season with its most proven and beloved features.

Sep 30, 2025All in all, while EA Sports FC 26 isn't perfect by any means, I commend the development team for providing a more "authentic" style of gameplay compared to what Ultimate Team offers. Combine that with the fantastic suite of modes and excellent presentation as always, and we've got a great and memorable entry in the series this year.

Sep 30, 2025Even with its issues, EA Sports FC 26 offers a level of player development and immersion that you just don’t get in other sports titles. On the surface, it’s easy to describe the gameplay overhaul as simple quality-of-life updates, but this year's changes tackle several player frustrations (particularly around goalkeeping), ultimately improving the franchise for the long haul.. EA Sports FC 26 is a robust step forward for a franchise I had lost faith in, and now, I can’t stop playing.
-
Sep 23, 2025Authentic and competitive playstyles bring flexibility to this year's version, but also limitations. Otherwise, EA Sports FC 26 offers some nice new features and sensible gameplay optimizations, while FUT continues to utilize pay-to-win mechanics.
-
Sep 19, 2025EA Sports FC 26 is, in short, a better game than what we have seen in recent years. There are major improvements on the pitch and minor improvements here and there in various game modes, however there are still things that detract from the experience, such as buggy menus that froze my game several times and a poorly updated Player Career.

Sep 26, 2025With EA Sports FC 26, the Canadian development studio takes an interesting path, but the final result doesn’t fully manage to convince. The two gameplay presets are a smart addition, Career mode gains momentum with Manager Live and Unexpected Events, and Ultimate Team receives a few useful tweaks that help refine the experience. However, between a still spotty defensive AI, a midfield sacrificed on the altar of spectacle, a Realistic mode that is intriguing but far from brilliant, and a monetization system that permeates every mode, there’s still a long way to go.
-
Sep 19, 2025EA Sports FC 26 is a matter of refinement over revolution in all facets of the game. It’s a slight change in course rather than EA Vancouver plotting a completely new course, and while it’s probably the best iteration of FC yet, a lot maybe put off by the price of admission for what is essentially a fresh lick of paint.
-
Sep 26, 2025A decently tweaked iteration of EA’s domineering football sim, but while the changes might not be seismic they are all positive.
-
Sep 19, 2025While it splits its gameplay in two with competitive online and the possibility of realistic (slower and animated) offline, the ex-FIFA won't calm players' frustrations. The reasons are the rivers of scorelines and scenarios still too much in favor of attacking dribblers, ordeals for defenders or AI goalkeepers. Among the satisfactions, we will still note the accomplished Manager Career mode with Live careers to prolong the fun, even if the lack of inspiration and renewal in the cinematics or licenses will weigh on the regulars. With the potential future competition from FIFA for the World Cup or Take-Two on the football game scene, not to mention a Football Manager 26 that promises to be Dantesque, EA FC will have to reinvent itself or go further to regain momentum in the years to come.
-
Nov 7, 2025Real talk, this entry won’t convert anyone tiring of EA’s approach to the world’s favorite sport, and longtime fans will likely feel the same frustrations they’ve felt for years. However, for anyone who still finds joy in a well-timed through ball or a diving header in extra time, it can deliver a good experience. It captures enough of football’s rhythm to be a good purchase for dedicated fans, but the execution just isn’t as sharp as I expected at this point.
-
Oct 12, 2025EA Sports FC 26 still delivers the best football sim around - partly because there’s no real competition. EA uses that gap to squeeze players’ wallets even more, while the new authentic style shows promise but feels too close to the usual competitive mode.
