I'm really enjoying Dirt 5. It's a lot of fun and easy to pick up and play. Looks great on Series X!

The game isn't terrible, but I'm glad I didn't spend money on it. (Game Pass is a great service...)
Forza Horizon 4 does everything better, even if you exclude the open world of FH4. Graphics in D5 are decent, but not as good. Race tracks are flashy in design which is a plus, but the physics and AI are a joke and the AI can be crap in FH4 at times. This is a game that is fun for

Es un juego de coches muy entretenido pero algunas pruebas no me gustan nada como las de correr sobre hielo o las pruebas de drift. Forza Horizon sigue siendo el rey en los juegos de coches arcade.

I loved Dirt 2 and liked Dirt 3 and I must say this opus is a disappointment. It is unequal on pretty much every aspects (gameplay, difficulty, graphics) and the content is very light given you paid the day one price. On this point, the number of cars per category is light, the races are nice but the environments come to be repetitive quickly over time, moreover with the "career" mechanic.I loved Dirt 2 and liked Dirt 3 and I must say this opus is a disappointment. Before making additional paying content, make sure you made enough for the base game given its day one price.
And, above all : the game is globally bland, basic career mode driven by a mediocre podcast, no real sensations driving the different cars. We are far from the sensation Dirt 2 was and it seems Codemaster made few efforts to keep its licence to the top since then.

    + Beautiful tracks
+ Awesome effects (weather and party)
+ 60 - 120 FPS - Boring comments/sayings - Frustrating moments because of annoying track obstacles (1 mistake and the race is over) - Unrealistic driving style, similar to Mario Kart - Tracks much too dark at night - Winning or losing feels random - A totally unspectacular final race Conclusion: Really fun for the first

I wouldn't recommend it to the fans of the Dirt series expecting something similar to Dirt 2 or 3. It's just a forgivable casual racer which is fun. It's not really a simulator, also it doesn't feel truly next gen. If you want a next gen experience, play Forza Horizon 4 or wait for Forza Horizon 5

Weather feels immersive and it's a little fun, but not too much fun. Gets boring pretty quickly. The driving itself is ok if you like arcade. FPS drops a significantly when you play split-screen. Played it while it was on game pass and would not pay money for this.

The biggest problem with Dirt 5 is the lack of content. The core gameplay of the game is designed to be extremely fun and engaging, and driving with a small number of cars without any bugs is really enjoyable.
Your opinion about Dirt 5 depends on what you expect from a racing game. If you have killed Forza and are looking for a more simulator game than NFS, Dirt 5 is a good option for

Other problems of the game include the low quality of the textures, although the game is of high quality in terms of visual effects.
The races are held in different car classes, most of them are acceptable, but the general off-road Formula races are really nerve-wracking due to the lack of cars and being more crowded than the main races.
And finally, it should be mentioned and concluded that although the game has removed many of its simulation elements compared to the previous versions of the same series and has become more like an arcade work, Code Masters has been able to bring an engaging experience to the players.

Despite a nice 4-player split-screen and enjoyable Playground mode chock-full of cool fan-made courses, Dirt 5 is not worth the full price. Yes, it is very pretty, runs smoothly and sounds great, but it lacks innovation and therefore reminds me of old school racing games. [01/2021, p.68]

Codemasters truly are the experts of their craft. DIRT 5 is a step in a different direction that will be met with some fans not enjoying the rather arcade-style gameplay, but it is absolute joy for those do like this type of fast-fluid party action. There is enough variation in track diversity thanks to the dynamic weather and track terrain conditions to help keep DIRT 5 fresh.
  3. It may not be as deep or sophisticated as many other modern racers, but Dirt 5 is nonetheless an entertaining outlet for engine revving on Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5.
