    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is absolutely garbage. I paid $100 in November 2021 and uninstalled it Jan 2022 after 8 hours of total attempted gameplay. The Season Pass not starting for over 6 months is criminal. I would have NEVER paid for this game knowing even 1/4 if what I know now. Painful lesson.… Expand

    What do i even say here? This game is a catastrophic implosion of poor decisions across the board. To hear EA saying they actually believed it was in a playable state come launch, when we all told them during the beta it was nigh unplayable is laughable. To this day the game is a broken mess. You'll be lucky if hit registration is the worst of it, the game struggles to even exist at mostWhat do i even say here? This game is a catastrophic implosion of poor decisions across the board. You'll be lucky if hit registration is the worst of it, the game struggles to even exist at most times. Weapon balancing is also laughable. The maps are massive swathes of empty nothingness with the odd structure here and there. The worst design choice in this entire game has to be the Specialists. DICE's attempt to make a cash printer a la CoD and R6:S's Operators. The Specialists completely and utterly destroy everything that is battlefield. Teamwork is out the window thanks to their introduction, map control based on class/vehicle makeup is also completely out the window.

    Wasted my money. I thought the beta was horrible bit I thought it was connection problems when it was fuiod it was fun. Wich is now worse. Battfield 5 felt better I presented the moment and one on 1 revive mechanic animation.

    Compared to older titles there is so much lacking in this game
    The amount of core features missing is absurd
    For a more detailed list i would suggest visitting the subreddits of battlefield 2042 and search for the top post of all time

    Honest to God, I will NEVER EVER pre order ANY game from DICE and any other studio under EA. Including the Dead Space Remastered version. They are not make video games any more. That are packaging it and use it for SCAM. We should file complaint / lawsuit to business agency for their DECEVING act. This is NOT American!!!

    Plz help me electronic arts are keeping in a sex dungeon making me play this amazing game (god awful) end every time i die they make me drop the soap :( i don’t even mind the slave part its just that they’re making me play this terrible game. Help me.

    One of the worst multiplayer shooters ever made. The worst game Dice has ever made. Horrible spawns, everyone runs around and bunny hops like gerbils, The net code is so bad it feels like you take 2 shots yet it takes half a mag to kill someone. You shoot your gun once and everyone knows your location. The teams are always so unbalanced that one team almost always steamrolls the other. TheOne of the worst multiplayer shooters ever made.     Destruction is still cool, and in the end I have to give the creators credit for the fact that the much marketing-washed akedo has its moments. Everything else that made a good Battlefield is completely missing, and that chase for record-breaking size or player count is really a poor substitute for well-designed maps, rich content in the form of game modes, and certainly no substitute for the original class system that the gameplay has always relied on in the first place.     Battlefield 2042 is a huge disappointment for gamers and the Battlefield franchise. Had this been the product of an indie developer, then this might be a different story as it would be understandable how a game like this could be the product of an independent studio that doesn’t have enormous corporate backing. Instead, EA pumped more resources into creating a CGI film that acts as the only real source of storyline context than ensuring the game was going to live up to the enormous amount of hype they were trying to create. I hate saying such negative things in my reviews, but when a game developer can’t be bothered to even try and live up to it’s own legacy, then I have to call it as I see it and for that very reason, I don’t recommend this game. Not even the nostalgia or temptation of ‘Battlefield Portal’ is enough to save this game from itself.

    Battlefield 2042 absolutely should have been pushed back by EA and DICE to some point in 2022. Instead, the version of this game that is currently available has been virtually unplayable for me at times since first releasing. Even beyond this, though, some of the key design changes that DICE has made in Battlefield 2042 don't feel for the better. Rather than improving on the core Battlefield experience that fans loved with Battlefield 3, 4, or Bad Company 2, 2042 is a bloated husk of its former self that is trying to recapture some semblance of its previous glory. As a fan that has been playing this series for well over a decade, Battlefield 2042 is a massive disappointment that I struggle to think is even worth saving.
