    I feel like it should be a criminal matter to sell
    Games to people at 100 + dollar and they suck this much. Why no scoreboard, why the class system that doesnt make sense. I am sad and angry to have wasted 100 dollar on a game that is nothing like the reviewers u paid handsomly said it is. Misleading and disappointing

    I have seen games run better on a toaster, this series is going backwards and is an alpha state and that's a stretch, no amount of update can save it, so many core problems the devs don't know what they are doing or EA is forcing them to make this poor "game" just to milk monitization from kids who don't know any better. MODERN GAMING at its finest.

    Unplayable. When I try to play the game I get constant error messages. And the few times I have got on I can't pick my loadout. Long time fan and I hate this game in its current state.

    Imagine you buy a brand new phone and find out that it doesn't turn on. you bring you phone back to the phone store to get it fixed. But every time you do, they only fix one thing at a time. Now also imagine the phone is completely broken and you spend ungodly amounts of time to get it fixed,also imagine you spent a small fortune to get it before everyone else

    Crashes Xbox Series X frequently. Squads and loadouts don’t matter. Few guns and poor map design. MTX business model in an unfinished full price game. Have been playing all of the battlefield games since bf2 and have been an avid fan of the franchise. Wasn’t a huge fan of 1 or V, but I had high hopes for this game. Hugely disappointed, save your money.

    Seit 17 Jahren bin ich Fan dieses Spiels gewesen.
    Heute war der letzte Tag an dem ich dieses Franchise unterstützt/ gespielt habe.

It is obvious that Battlefield 2042 needed more development time or EA/Dice should have been working on this game for the past three years which I find hard to believe. DO NOT BUY Battlefield 2042 until it is in a state where it is playable and worth your money.     This game has no potential. It has zero replay ability. I played for 2 hours. Instantly bored on the same 2 and only 2 game modes. Absolute **** No team death match? No domination? No rush? No nothing? The portal mode is just old games with modern graphics. Trash

    So, second post I’ve ever made and I feel as if they are needed. Large corporations are taking advantage of so many games, like this one. I have loved almost every battlefield, but this one. It is awful, and I hate to say that. No campaign which is fine if multiplayer is good, but the multiplayer feels as if it’s and older sloppier version of the last one.     What A Time To Be Alive! When they release trash like this and market it as wonderful… I love a good BF game and BF4 is still one of my favorite games ever. That said this is a good looking disaster of a game. It’s always fun to run around and shoot each other in any game so take that away and focus on tactics, map design, and gameplay.     This game is the worst of the series. There is no balance, there is no opitimization, there is no content. There are many bugs, glitches, freezes, crashes, fps drops. If u want to waste your money and be mad at you - go ahead --> buy battlefield 2042. As XSX player - usually i cannot finish even one round. All the time crashes, freezes, slide shows. Its totally unplayable.

    One of the worst game to ever come out, visually the game is amazing, the gameplay could have been amazing. There are so much things gone wrong in that game.
    First the cross-platform ruins the game ( for console players ) and that i can't be disabled.
    The amount of cheaters and hackers ecountered in game is just crazy. Only 5 maps in the game ?     80€ for the basic version of such a **** game, 5 maps, barely 4 weapons per category, an absolute scam. worst game of the last 5 years    … Expand

The fact that publishers and developers can get away with releasing an unfinished game is pathetic. They’re following in the footsteps of Medal Of Honor. The Hit registration and TTK are extremely unpredictable, theres only 6 maps and it feels like you only play Manifest 24/7. I cannot believe what kind of state this game was released in. Many people claim that this doesn't feel like a battlefield claim, I disagree, but there is still valid criticism, like the ui missing alot of features, but, to me aleast, the massive large scale Battles are what makes battlefield battlefield. It has that chaotic insane game play. Howevery, there are criticism about the maps, they are too too flat and need more cover. Now, this may be different for people playing on 64 player servers, as there are less people trying to kill you, but 128 servers, there are too many people trying to kill you. Many people don't like the specialist system, personally I don't see it as better or worse then the 4 class system, just different. Many people claim it promotes selfish playing, but I strongly disagree, there are specialist that are design to play by themselves, but there are also specialist that promote team work, like one that allows people to change load outs, the shield op best played in pairs, one to shot, one to block, a medic, and one that puts shields for everyone. One specialist effects enemies, electronics making them easier for your entire team to kill. Also I have seen people use a wide spread of gadgets that help the entire team. I have been revived plenty of times by other players. The gun play is not as good as bfv, it just feels clunky and awkward, but not the worst, it's definitely playable. The portal is great, just feel like it should have more progression to them, also the guns in portal should be in bf2042, I thought it was very weird that they weren't there. The game is kinda buggy on Xbox series s, but most definitely playable, can't talk about pc. This isn't the best bf, but if you are willing to put up with glitches and plain maps, the I recommend this game, it is very fun and chaotic.… Expand

    The game was re-zoned as the heir to the worm's part, but it's impossible to play it. You can't mark enemies normally, you just don't see them, even when someone nearby is firing at them. The maps are too big, this is a running and death simulator. WHY DON'T JUST UPDATE PART 4 FOR CURRENT GENERATION !!? It will be played more than "IT". I will not return to this game again.

I don’t want to pay a lot of money to became beta tester for multimillion company. Other bad reviews are more detailed and 100% right. And cross platform is waste of time.     Infantry play is a horrible experience, hit registry is inconcistent, rubber banding frequent, FPS performance is very poor & vehicles are all completely over powered.

    O jogo não esta legal, falta muita coisa, obviamente o jogo foi apressado para ser lançado, a falta de conteúdo e certamente o maior fator pela nota que estou dando, mas ainda consigo me divertir, claro que não poder trocar de pelotão pra me juntar ao meus amigos somete sendo possível saindo da partida e aceitando um convite, a limitação do cross play entre as gerações oq e ridículo, masO jogo não esta legal, falta muita coisa, obviamente o jogo foi apressado para ser lançado, a falta de conteúdo e certamente o maior fator pela nota que estou dando, mas ainda consigo me divertir, claro que não poder trocar de pelotão pra me juntar ao meus amigos somete sendo possível saindo da partida e aceitando um convite, a limitação do cross play entre as gerações oq e ridículo, mas não posso reclamar de estabilidade ate o momento não tive nenhum problema relacionado a isso.… Expand

    Not the best Battlefield but not a bad game either. Right now there is some fun here, good gunfight, good gameplay. Games looks good in Series X. There are bugs, some of them really annoying, but I still have a good time playing this game.
    It has the potential of being great in some months. Right now I give it a 7.

Can't really speak on game play, but the main menu is severely lacking. The color palette it's all wrong, feels very muted. Guess that's about all I can say on the menu. Solid 6 out of 10.     I wanted to like it, but it's getting more and more obvious that DICE only wanted a cash-grab. As guys like this usually do, they lied and manipulated the public perception in order to maximize their profits. This was never intended to be a good game, it was intended to print money.

What made the previous BF's great was the changing pace due to just the right amount of vehicle respawn and action. Couple all this, with even worse gunplay physics and lack of sound that gave the game suspense and real tension when capturing or in a large gun battle. The final icing on the cake is the graphics are sub bar, and environment destruction has gotten worse. However, you liked to play the old battlefields you cant do that here. Some serious Nerf patches, combined with smaller maps with less vehicle emphasis, would be the basic start to rebuilding this game.    … Expand

    The moment I saw this game had forced crossplay with pc I knew it was garbage. Only way to disable it is through xbox system settings and when you do you only play against bots. This should have been an easy toggle and not on at default.
    But it doesn't end here. No scoreboard or team death in 2042, only boring big battles and classes are basically just a skin now.     I have played around 4,000 hours of battlefield games and around 30 hours with 2042 with early access. I have spent a fair share of my gaming career in these first-person shooters. That being said, I have never, ever seen such a bad game from a technical perspective on launch (Aside from Fallout 76). It's bad guys. Don't get me wrong, when everything works it's a blast but the number ofI have played around 4,000 hours of battlefield games and around 30 hours with 2042 with early access. I have spent a fair share of my gaming career in these first-person shooters. That being said, I have never, ever seen such a bad game from a technical perspective on launch (Aside from Fallout 76). It's bad guys. Don't get me wrong, when everything works it's a blast but the number of bugs and issues I run into every single game... It's comical.

    List of bugs I've experienced in my 40 hours so far with this game.

    1.) Your loadout screen wipes and you default to a DMR and you are unable to pick your loadouts. (You can circumvent this by going into the customize screen in the pause menu "Create new Loadout" and you will then be able to play with your new loadout. but this still requires you to redo all your loadout options. (This happens about 8/10 games I've played)
    2.) Breakthrough will simply not let me in. If I launch into the lobby, It will put me in a game but it will not allow me to spawn at all. You are literally stuck on the map. I tried 10 games, I tried resetting my system, I even tried joining friends. All the same result, unable to play.
    3.) Weapon blooming/bullet spread is laughable. I have 8 clips of different circumstances where I got the flank on about 3 enemies, laid an entire clip into them, and nothing. Easily they turned and shot me and won the gunfight. Mind you, im not the best battlefield player but I KNOW when I should be landing my shots. The spread is insane for ARs DO NOT USE THEM. You will lose the majority of your gunfights.
    4.) Anti-air rocket. Taking down helis is a favorite time of mine in this franchise. There are games where all I'll do is take out helis and jets. The amount of glitchy rocket launching I've had is insane. If you fire the rocket too quickly and instantly click the reload button, the "RELOAD" notice on your screen will NOT go away.
    5.) XP and Rewards. There were matches, 45-minute matches, 60 kill games where I received ZERO XP or kill counts to my weapons. Waste of time.
    6.) Weapon attachments. They either disappear or don't actually do anything statistically for recoil patterns or stability. Sometimes. I'd say this Happened about 4/10 games I played.
    7.) The UI is quite possibly the WORST UI I have ever seen in a video game. How the HELL did this get past QA. What director in his right mind thought "MAN THIS IS A GREAT UI." **** man. Its terrible.

    There are more minor issues I've found but none compare to the frustration of these above. Please don't buy this game yet. You'll spend upwards of $70-140 for this game that literally doesn't work OR look as good as it did in the advertisements.

    I'm always finding myself on the hype train for Battlefield games. Because **** man, I love... loved this franchise. This game has incredible potential. The specialists, as much as I was skeptical, I REALLY enjoy them. (Unpopular opinion) Having different playstyles around what you want to do has been a WELCOME addition.

    Save yourself the frustration and wait until you see the community take to the improvements the devs need to make. We are angry.

    If you're new to the franchise or a casual COD player coming over to check it out, welcome to the fam. I hope you will one day see why we love this franchise so much, but right now, you won't. I hate that for you. Some of my favorite experiences in gaming have happened from a battlefield match. I hope this helps some of you. Here's to a better Battlefield future.     Portal is a good throwback to the battlefield bad company 2 days and battlefield 3, heck even 1942 is in there.
    Cross play i turned off since keyboard and mouse just destroys my controller.

    So much hate for this game but if you take out the few bugs that's I've come across, it's graphically stunning, incredibly fun and overall back to a normal battlefield game. Am I gutted there's no campaign, of course but battlefield has always mostly been online anyway

    I have a series x and my friend has Xbox one and I’m forced to play the last gen version of the game to play with him which obviously sucks. The characters that you have to choose from look dumb as hell like they were picked at some woke diversity meeting and not battle hardened war veterans. There is to many people on one map. You can’t take five steps with out being killed. Waste of money

I found that the time of day determines whether or not you will get into the game from the main screen. That is perhaps the most frustrating part for me is even when I want to play, the game has other plans. Furthermore the game for the most part it is total trash. The maps are large which I like, but they are mostly open and when you get caught you are absolutely screwed. If you don’t have a tank or a helicopter your odds of survival are miniscual. The graphics at least on the Xbox one, leave something to be desired as well. Comparatively the graphics from BF4 are leaps and bounds ahead of 2042 which is saying something. The game play is prohibitive to getting large numbers of kills due to the fact that it is so open, lack of cover and places to be make to difficult to move around and find people. This game was clearly rushed, and I feel like a fool for buying it. Don’t waste your time and hard earned money, it’s simply not worth it, I myself may go out and purchase a gallon of paint to splash against the wall and watch dry instead.     There is currently a ton of bug, from the simple display bug to some more annoying ones (impossible to respawn after being shot, staying down during an infinite amount of time). This exemple is one, but there is a ton. Hitmarkers not displaying properly. Allies marked as ennemies. Impossible to equip new stuff on weapons.

    And to that, there is a ton of ugly things.
    Impossible to disable crossplay without editing Xbox system preferences (yep, there is an option in game, but you can't edit the value, it stick to the system default value. Great).
    Impossible to find a specific game mode or map. There is no server list, which means you can only pray to find a game in a gamemode you like or a map you like.
    There is no matchmaking, which means once your game is done, you're back at the main menu and you need to start another game on your own (spoiler alert : you're most likely gonna end up on the same map just done, happens a lot).
    Impossible to track how good or bad you're doing in your game as there is absolutely no scoreboard (on a competitive game. What a nice idea)

    They got rid of the amazing class system going on for a "specialist" allowing you to combine every single possibility between equipment, weapons, abilities. This end up in every one playing the same specialist as some are really overpowered. And as they can use anything alongside, there is no "counterpart" to it.
    Squad space is still limited to 4 while 5 persons in a squad was an absolut blast.
    Maps are empty, with almost no destruction elements.

    They wanted to celebrate Battlefield. All they did is remove what is making Battlefield what it is, to add some stupid grappling hook, tornados and wingsuit.    … Expand

    Right away, playing the beta made me realize how much of a misrepresentation the official trailer was.

    It's an ongoing, frantic frenzy of ants on a picnic blanket, running huge stretches by foot while all the vehicles are currently away partying on the top-floor penthouses of skyscrapers. It's basically a cross-country running simulator most of the time while the dysfunctional drivers and pilots steal a helicopter at the start of the round to go on a leisure tour the whole game. It shouldn't be that hard to manufacture or purchase dirtbikes or quads en mass in 2042.

    Quirky, superfluous 'specialists' that crack cringy corn-ball quips at the end of the round like, "That was fun," or, "I'm just better than everyone else!", completely dismissing the harsh atmosphere and aesthetic that the initial cutscene paints. That's the kind of flaunty animation sequence you'd see in... perhaps... a battle royale game? I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing first place do the [insert viral physical motion here] at the ends of rounds in the next couple of months. Am I playing Battlefield or Apex Legends?

    I hate seeing a group of identical clones running around while I try desperately to cling onto the tiniest sense of realism or familiarity. This was an issue that others may feel indifferent about. To me, after being subject to this "hero shooter" direction for the past several years, it's the last thing this game needs.

    It's a haphazard mess with several discrepancies and misplaced decisions, flat out lacking many emblematic facets of Battlefield (or ANY triple-A FPS title, for that matter) such as a scoreboard, squad switching, classes, and more.

    What's with this whole No-Pat freedom fighter militia - mind you, with no actual basis or story (R.I.P. campaigns in games) - but then it's just the typical USA vs. Russia trope again?

    Conquest (one of **** two available game modes) is an endless series of frustrating and hectic interactions with soldiers and vehicles, including but not limited to: missing hit registers, sporadic fire patterns, nondescript vehicle damage, inconsistent and poorly designed driving & piloting mechanics.

    The number of bugs, coding mistakes, balancing issues and content voids will probably result in a patch timeline that competes with even those of No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 because clearly, EA's focus was on "making a game meant to sell, not to play. (~Mr Nobody)"

    I've seen people say they still have hopes for the game's potential.

    The thing is, these aren't issues that can be solved with a 12 to 20-month service life like we thought would solve our complaints of BFV.

    These are inherent creative decisions that go completely against what a Battlefield game is, and would require a literal re-design of most of the game itself.

    There is an utter lack of variety and things to do in the game. I feel like I'm playing a $30 Kickstarter game that got popular on Twitch.

    Battlefield 2042 is just so clearly the outcome of the executive imbeciles at EA believing battle royales are still the absolute formula for good game design, completely overruling any one person's desire to remain faithful to an authentic Battlefield experience.

    There are so many things that they got wrong... the way helicopters behave, the limited gameplay variety, the questionable issues latent in the settings menu, the confusing and unfulfilling weapon & vehicle progression, the unbalanced nature of combat, and more.

    Also es ist noch viel Arbeit, aber der Spielspaß und die Grafik sind Top. Natürlich gibt es Bugs und auch die Performance sind Verbesserungs würdig. Aber ich denke das es nie Perfekte Games am Ersten Tag gibt, Warzone ist nach über einem Jahr immer noch nicht Fertig.

    Mit hat es Spaß gemacht und nach einen Tag kann ich es kaum abwarten wieder mit meinen Mates in die Schlacht zu ziehen.

    I think the game is fun, have played it since early release (gold edition) and have had many fun hours. but of course it needs to be "fixed a bit" in the form of bugs among other things. but the only thing I reacted to is that it does not always feel completely optimized. I highly recommend the game and it can only get better.

    This thing has more bugs than an NYC flophouse, but that isn't what worries me. Bugs are practically a tradition at launch for this series. Instead, the CORE gameplay is destroyed. I'm not sure that's fixable. The maps are 85% wide open space with no cover. This, combined with the abundance of vehicles makes for 5 minutes of straight running each spawn, only to be mowed down by a vehicle. It's not enjoyable even in passing.

    There's no scoreboard which is mind-boggling for an FPS made post-1996. The dissolution of classes in favor of specialists may work for tweens and monetization, but it destroys the traditional experience. Everyone is now a one-man-army and whatever teamwork existed is gone. 'Army of One' didn't last long as a slogan for the US Army, maybe it'll fizzle here as well.

    4/5 of the guns are ineffective at any range. Since there are only 22 to begin with, that essentially means there are only four usable weapons. So much for variety. Many classic Battlefield features are missing. Incoming medic indicators are gone. So are squad cameras when deploying. Or a map you can see at deployment. Or fortifications. Or suppression. Or, oh yeah, SCORING. There are no points and no scoreboard to put them on anyway. It's "Whose Line is It Anyway" with hovercrafts.

    The Portal mode is a nice thought, but feels closer to an afterthought. Map selection is 2 maps per game, not enough to keep sufficient variety for those attempting to escape the root-canal-like main game experience. The 2 points out of 10 I'm awarding this game are for the thought of at least putting Portal into the game. That said, Portal is to classic battlefield what a splash of gin in a bottle of Dasani is to a gin & tonic. Not quite right and heavily watered down.

Can't progress passed title menu thanks to a perpetual "unable to load persistence data" message. Even after performing the troubleshooting steps in the canned EA Support message that was sent back in response to emailing them of the issue,Game is literally unplayable. There’s no flow to the maps so you end up wondering where to go next. You either end up in an empty area, or one so full of everyone else it’s impossible to move. Too many tanks/helicopters and seemingly indestructible hovercraft. So much spread of bullets, you could empty a whole clip and maybe have 3 or 4 hits on a guy 20m away.

    The maps themselves are impressively big, but lots of it is just space. For a post-apocalyptic world, it’s very, very clean. No real building damage to speak of. No clue who is a medic or if you will get revived, or even if they will be able to revive you due to bugs. Nowhere to reload ammo from. No score boards. Too many screens that really irritate after a while. No way to choose what map you want to play on. Half the time it’s the same map again and you start almost at the end of a game. Teams get changed at the end of every game, so no friendly rivalry. Cross play seems to be stuck on for Xbox.

    Not enough content. A couple of modes, one of which will be dead in a couple of weeks. Not enough weapons. No longer classes, but ‘specialists’! They cut short BF V support time and extended the dev time and this is what we get? It’s lacking content and not finished.

    I can’t recommend it. I cancelled my pre-order after the beta and have used 10 hours on EA play. I can’t say I regret cancelling. I may buy in 6 to 10 months when the price has dropped and they have fixed things, but then again, I might not. End of an era in my opinion. God knows who decided on this direction, but it’s not the right one.    … Expand

    4. 128 человек это однозначно круто. Даже есть какая-то загрузка ботами, лично я этого не заметил.
    5. Hard Zone однозначно хороший, но пока невнятный режим. Надеюсь, что его доведут до ума и его не постигнет участь Fire Storm из BF5
    6. Portal - возможность поиграть в классику однозначный плюс.

    Как итог - это явно не игра года и от части сломанная игра, но в конце концов я получаю от неё удовольствие и не думаю, что она заслуживает 3 балла. Самая разумная на сегодняшний день оценка - 7 баллов, но я авансом оставлю 8 баллов, так как надеюсь, что разработчики извлекли хотябы какие-то уроки из проблем BF5 и в ближайшем будущем доведут все до ума:)    … Expand

    The least Battlefield, Battlefield, in the series. DICE has been on a downward path since their last release, and after having built so much hype on a game seemingly designed for “BF Veterans” - the game couldn’t be further from what BF Veterans enjoyed in years past.

    The game is great, a few small bugs however nothing overly game breaking. It looks amazing it plays really well the bugs are in the UI not loading but that’s an easy fix considering the game isn’t even out yet

    Not battlefield. Maybe genZ will enjoy it or anyone born between 2015-2021 but a true fan won't. COD with Overwatch characters. Noone asked for this. Portal is great but only 2 maps gets boring QUICK. DON'T BUY IF YOU'RE A TRUE BATTLEFIELD FAN

    WTF HAPPENED TO BATTLEFIELD??? This game is so bad, i played for several hours and had exactly 0% fun. Class system is completely messed up, extreme performance problems, the voicing is extremly cheap, no scoreboard and so on. I am speechless. Thank god i only played it as a trial!!!

Horrible map design, too large and crap as a whole, bad framerate, graphics weak on Series X, only Portal is good, including graphics and fps, should have been released as a standalone game to separate it from 2042 trash

    I hate writing reviews, I rarely ever see any game worth writing one, and when one is warranted its usually because the game is so bad that I feel I need to dedicate time out of my day just to express how bad I feel it is.... This however, is the opposite, I have seen this game trashed by so many people and I wholeheartedly believe a vast majority haven't played the game for long, or in some instances, at all, and are just bandwagon trashing it.

    Take into consideration the game has only been released just today, save you, like I, are one of the few who shelled out 90$ or more for a week's early access, and I'm sorry, but if you've shelled out that much money you're likely still playing it and are having a fun time because you're a fan of the series.

    So what i will attempt to do is address the widespread issues most are bandwagoning on about and my take on them, as well as give my honest review.

    Alright, number one issue (for some reason) lack of scoreboard...First, this is Battlefield, not call of duty. Not some battle-royale **** or arena style shooter; this is a massive game where objectives are the focus (if you intend on winning) not running laps around a small map trying to rack up kill-streaks. That's never been what battlefield has been about, and all a scoreboard does is stroke the Ego's of sweaties who already knoe how well they've been doing probably because they have an app they're using to keep manual count themselves. It just adds their name to the top of the end-game screen for all to see, so what. Ive seen people have huge amounts of kills and still fall under those at the very top of the leaderboard who spent their time actually capturing objectives or defending strategic points because that garners more points anyway. The second thing it does is flame the fans of toxicity that inherently exist in shooters because we can all see the guy who went 2/37 at the bottom of the screen... People inevitably flame that guy, in chat, in VC, hell I've had terrible games in the past and had people DM on xbox with toxic words... that doesnt help the game, that only takes the fun out of it for players and detracts from the teamwork needed in this style of game. And if you're thinking oh no it's not that bad (the toxicity), you're kidding yourself. I've already witnessed so much toxicity and flaming in open chat and that's without the scoreboard, and its only been a week.

    Character classes. Yup, they went in a totally different direction and added "class abilities". You'll either love it or hate it, i like having character abilities personally, "hero" models at a new way to impact the game and honestly class loadouts dont meed to exist anymore because you can custom loadout everything pretty much from the start. Something they've changed and adapted over the years as tactics in shooters overall changed... lets be honest here, how many people enjoyed having to change to engineer from say "recon" because you were annoyed at all the damn tanks and vehicles and the only way to access the RPG was as an engineer. IMO that's a dumb design, now you dont have to worry about that, i run around for example with a sniper rifle and Anti Air rockets because i hate helicopters. You like to play medic, there's an actual "Hero" with a medic like ability and you can choose med-packs as a gadget tool and still have your choice of gun and not be confined to SMGs only.

    Gunplay: The implementation of changing your gun on the fly is the most unique thing I've seen in any shooter in a long while. Although it works better for some weapon subsets than others. Ie: assault rifles benefit greatly, as where snipers not as much. But the concept is so unique and adds to options and choices for your playstyle. I honestly fail to see how this is a negative, you want an 4x scope vs a holo sight because you found a good camping spot, change it on the fly and you no longer have to die just to alter your attachments, which in many previous games you couldnt do anyway unless you were on the main menu.

    Negatives: The game obviously has negatives and bugs, those are being repaired and will be repaired inevitably, and for those that are saying "it ahould have been ready" some of these bugs and glitches dont show themselves until you mash 1000's onto the servers and people from the outsidw notice and report them. The maps I feel there are far too few (5 for now) this will obviously be remedied over time. The gun attachment system is locked behind an immense number of kills required with said weapon to unlock a single attachment for it. I'd suggest making "assists" count as well. I think you need like 1600 kills total to unlock all attachments for each weapon, and you have to do it for every weapon. Certain "Hero" are clearly the preferred, grappling hook and wingsuit equals free mobility. Meanwhile the "hacker" only affects a few things on the map. The level of destruction feels smaller than previous BF's.    … Expand

    Feels like what someone would make if they’d only been described a battlefield game over a bad phone line.
    All of the DNA that made battlefield fun has been lost, the downward trajectory of this once brilliant franchise is heart breaking to see.

    Boring, boring, boring. The must fun you can have is playing the old battlefield games in portal.

    2042 is a soulless mess, DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE

    Destruction is still cool, and in the end I have to give the creators credit for the fact that the much marketing-washed akedo has its moments. Everything else that made a good Battlefield is completely missing, and that chase for record-breaking size or player count is really a poor substitute for well-designed maps, rich content in the form of game modes, and certainly no substitute for the original class system that the gameplay has always relied on in the first place.     Battlefield 2042 is a huge disappointment for gamers and the Battlefield franchise. Had this been the product of an indie developer, then this might be a different story as it would be understandable how a game like this could be the product of an independent studio that doesn’t have enormous corporate backing. Instead, EA pumped more resources into creating a CGI film that acts as the only real source of storyline context than ensuring the game was going to live up to the enormous amount of hype they were trying to create. I hate saying such negative things in my reviews, but when a game developer can’t be bothered to even try and live up to it’s own legacy, then I have to call it as I see it and for that very reason, I don’t recommend this game. Not even the nostalgia or temptation of ‘Battlefield Portal’ is enough to save this game from itself.

    Battlefield 2042 absolutely should have been pushed back by EA and DICE to some point in 2022. Instead, the version of this game that is currently available has been virtually unplayable for me at times since first releasing. Even beyond this, though, some of the key design changes that DICE has made in Battlefield 2042 don't feel for the better. Rather than improving on the core Battlefield experience that fans loved with Battlefield 3, 4, or Bad Company 2, 2042 is a bloated husk of its former self that is trying to recapture some semblance of its previous glory. As a fan that has been playing this series for well over a decade, Battlefield 2042 is a massive disappointment that I struggle to think is even worth saving.
