How can anyone in their right mind say that Odyssey is better Assassin's Creed game than Valhalla? It's absolutely fine, if you prefer Odyssey more than Valhalla, as a video game. It's very obvious that more people actually like Valhalla way more than Odyssey. It's their best selling PC game of all time! i just feel Ubisoft fans are hiding in the shadows. They are too mature to argue on internet. They don't care about pointless drama. They just want to enjoy games. But i feel like sometimes Ubisoft fans should fight back stronger. Yeah it's cool you praise these things on reddit, but there's way more important sites and metacritic is one of them.

No youtuber never mentions some random reddit "praise post" but they always show metacriti'c user score and these videos get 100 000's on views. This is manipulation 101. I know it's pathetic, because metacritic user score is most meaningless thing on this planet, but fact is, that these people are using it. It's just bunch of losers, usually some tasteless crackwatch-reddit users who hate on Ubisoft in general. They don't even play their games, they don't even care about their games. They are just pathetic, whiny losers and nothing else.

When Far Cry 6 comes out in few month, i guarantee, bunch of Ubisoft haters (who will never buy Far Cry 6 btw) start giving it 0/10 scores and i feel like this time Ubisoft fans really, really need to fight back. It has gone too far. Cdproject red released most talentless game in 20 years and these people still try to praise it, while hating on Ubisoft's perfectly decent games that actually work. Like i said, these scores don't matter at all, they never did, never will, but i feel like Ubisoft fans (and there are millions) should for once actually try to fight back, even if it's just to annoy these haters. Even that would be worth it.

It has nothing to do with company. Ubisoft has made lots of games i don't care about at all (Breakpoint, Division 2, For Honor, Crew 2) and if Valhalla would be one of these bad games i would ignore it as well, but that's not the case. Valhalla simply isn't bad game. It's just not and nothing, absolutely nothing will change that fact.

Better graphics than Elden Ring, that's for sure. Overall this game surprised me, it's not best AC game, but it has more to offer than Odyssey or Origins. Story is not most interesting thing in this game, but open world and exploration makes this game solid. I still wish they would go back to Black Flag/Unity era tho.

This is Assassin's Creed game, just like Black Flag is Assassin's Creed game. Just cause you have more things to explore, more activities, more enemies than AC 1, doesn't mean it's not Assassin's Creed. Literally same could be said about GTA. "GTA 5 is not GTA anymore because you can do way more stuff than in GTA 1 and GTA 2". Yes it is! Deal with it!

Now it's solid open-world AC game, but sadly it's not better than Black Flag. I just wish story/mission design was more interesting or unique. Black Flag had all kinds of unique mission designs and also story was better. In Valhalla missions aren't that interesting, but there's still many fun ones. But true star of Valhalla is it's open world and freedom to do whatever you feel like. That's what was missing from AC 1 for me, because these games can simply be so much more than just generic assassination games. AC is not and should not be Hitman. AC should be ALWAYS compared to games like GTA or Red Dead Redemption. You can do so much more in these games than just the basic story stuff and that same logic should apply to AC and most people seem to understand that. It seems to be minority who complains that AC is not so linear anymore. Most people seem to like that freedom and more activities. This open world is there for a reason! Might as well fill that open world with content and that's what Ubisoft did in both Black Flag and Valhalla, even Unity and Syndicate. That is the right direction.

The combat is insanely brutal and engaging, the world is massive and the story is breathtaking. Stunning looking game on the Series X but alas a game mired by extensive graphical and game breaking bugs. A perfect score is not far off if it could only have been bug and glitch free. The characters, the voice acting, the music, the gameplay loop, it's all far far above previous Assassin's Creed's, just a little tweaking on the length of the game and the pacing and it would be 10/10. 140 hours later and it is an experience I will never forget. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I started this game I was absolutely blown away by how pretty it looked, the first scene had me invested in the story and the characters. It wasn't long before I was spending hours exploring the mountains, finding all the mysteries, artifacts and treasures and having a total blast doing so. The leveling up system was good and it was simple enough to get myself to the levels needed to continue with the higher level missions once I reached England, which was also completely breathtaking. I really enjoyed the storyline, particularly the asgard plot. The final section with sigurd was brilliant. All in all this game was amazing. I had a lot of fun with it. The only complaint I have is there were a few small issues towards the end, a fe bugs that tainted my experience. Meaning towards the end I was getting to the point where I just wanted it to be over and done with so that I could spend the rest of my time finding the rest of the mysteries. Also the end of the story isn't particularly clear so I was confused that a few little things weren't tied up. However I would still highly recommend it and will no doubt play through it again! Even if it was a completely real to the world VR experience in the style of SAO, I doubt that I would've been happy. I like old AC, scratch that I love old AC. I'm by no means a "gamer", but Assassin's Creed is not only the first but the only videogame franchise that I actually fell in love with. I loved the stealth, the assassinations, the things that made it "Assassin's Creed". After the dissapointment that was Odyssey, I was thrilled that Valhalla would once again be in the more than capable hands of Ubisoft Montreal. With the writing team that made classics like AC Revelations and AC 4. Not only was the writing going to be fantastic, but Ubisoft Montreal had brought back the one and only Jesper Kyd, the man who wrote the music for all the AC games up until Revelations. In hyping myself up through the development I was constantly reminding myself that this would be a love letter to not just what AC had become, but what Assassin's Creed was. And I got the game, and I played it, and I was happy. A lot of people are complaining about a lack of Assassin's Creed elements, and I have to ask if we were playing the same game. If u want AC elements you have the option to stealth almost everything, even raids, social stealth is back. This game doesn't outright tell you to use these old AC elements, it's completely up to the player. So therefore it doesn't really make much sense to rate a game, because of your personal play style. You (the player), determines the amount of "AC elements" that you want in your game. The game gives you the elements, from hidden ones bureaus to planned assassinations, and it's completely up to the player to determine whether or not they want to use them. The writing is fantastic, even the mythological sections (which I greatly despised in Odyssey) felt like they had a point here. Everything you do moves the plot forward, from the normal world events, to main quests everything advances the plot. Darby wrote something truly special here, and while there are reviews talking about how grating the game can be after a couple hours, I found that upping the difficulty or switching out weapons always gave a welcome change of pace to the game no matter where I was in it. The music is absolutely fantastic, and genuinely might be one of my favorite tracks in any AC game. Gameplay isn't always fun and engaging, and I will admit there is a bit of jank. But it is gameplay that feels better than it looks. I think I've covered the 3 most important bases in any game: Story, Gameplay, and Music. Now to the negatives, this is a Ubisoft game, and I hold all blame towards the parent company of Ubisoft, not the subsidiary Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft tends to push out games earlier than they should so that they can make a quick profit, and I hate it. This game looks great, but I know that if Montreal had been given a couple more months they coulda turned out something like RDR2. The game is buggy, given a couple more months, these problems could've been solved. The combat is janky, given a couple more months it could've been better. The mocap looks a little bit off in certain places, given a couple more months this would've been solved. I think you know what I'm getting at. It's a game that's so close to being everything that I wanted it to be, but is held back by Ubisoft, and that just frustrates me to no end. It's these little things that add up and eventually dock the game about 2 points. The story is still great, and everything about it is pretty great. But it's by no means perfect, and thereby not exactly deserving of a full 10. An 8 is the perfect rating, to an almost perfect game. Expand

Really surprised Ubisoft managed to make this. I mean they have had hits before, but after 2019 flop i kinda lost hope, seems i was too quick to judge. AC Valhalla is at least 100 hour game with tons of good content, locations, enemies etc. Story is also surprisingly good, specially if compared to Odyssey.

Most people have already said what i wanted to say, so i make it short.
nice graphics, nice story, likable characters, so many enemies to fight against, bosses, secrets to discover, two huge maps. Must buy, if you even slightly have ever cared about Assassin's Creed games.

Why so many negative reviews? Yeah there are some bugs, but overall it's one of the best games i have played from 2020 lineup. Just cause you have some problems with game doesn't automatically mean you have to give it 0 okay? I'm planning to play this whole 2021, because Ireland dlc will add even more content.

Best Ubisoft game they have made in 4 years, truly impressive stuff. To whoever says that
it's boring, i'm sure you will find your fun in Marvel's Avengers, leave good games to people who actually know how to enjoy them. This is literally perfect game to spend my time on until Cyberpunk comes out.

Why Metacritic allows reviews with zero scores from people who clearly don't even have this game, makes absolutely no sense. But whatever i guess. This game is amazing anyway.

Amazing soundtrack, i could literally meditate to that main menu music, so well done.
If you hate this game, maybe just give up gaming or something, find new hobby, because you clearly aren't able to enjoy greatness. If it's not your style or whatever, that's fine, Assassin's Creed was never "game for everyone", but just hating it shows how pathetic you are.
    Amazing game.

This is good, i mean it. But Far Cry 6 needs to be something completely new, they can't make another Far Cry 5, NO, because we already have that game. It has to stand out, it has to be different, if it isn't, delay it already! And next wave of Ubisoft games needs to have complete re-invention in 2022-2023. Stuff like Prince of Persia remake with weak animations needs to be gone, forever. This is good, i mean it. Stuff like Prince of Persia remake with weak animations needs to be gone, forever. None of that anymore. Valhalla is first good step into the future of Ubisoft, it's really well done game, but now things need to go even further. Really DEEPLY focus on writing, Valhalla is good, go even more deep! Invest more into your products, you have good directors, give them all the freedom the need! I know you can make good stuff, you have done it past, you can do it again, i really believe it.
I believe in you Ubisoft, because i have really liked some of your games (AC 4 Black Flag, AC Unity (after patches obviously), Far Cry 3 and even some Ghost Recon Games, even Watch Dogs 1 was good, even tho it wasn't perfect. I would hate to see you go down like this. What you did in 2019 is unforgivable, but every company messes up at times, In fact all your games have better writing than Fallout 4 or Fallout 76, not that it's good comparison, but just saying. But you need to take Rockstar as your inspiration and i feel, in a way you already do. That's good! Just focus on quality, fix more bugs before release and just do good games. That's all it takes. I'm so far loving Valhalla and i have high hopes for Far Cry 6 and future of Ubisoft, Please don't let me and all your fans down!

Best Ac game since Black Flag. Incredible open world, actually two of them, because Norway and England are on separated maps. So much to discover, story is really enjoyable so far, voice acting for main character is perfect. Can't believe they will add Ireland later as well, not like it's huge world already, but i'm not complaining. More of this Ubisoft, more of this.

The game is similar to the 2 previous assassin's creed games however it also builds upon the original assassin's creed games! The map is a lot larger to explore and a lot more tasks to do with side quests... The storyline is really good and definitely worth playing on the xbox series x!

Of course this one deserves 10/10, i'm not saying it's 10/10 game, more like 8. This one is actually solid game and haters are trying to bring it dow. If any game deserves 10/10 right now it's AC Valhalla. Without these 10/10's this score would be under 6, because there's so many absolute shtheads who just give it 0 or 1. That's pathetic.

If This games doesn't get absolutely any "The Game Awards" nominations, i might leave gaming forever. If they actually think 6 hours long spider-man miles morales is worth that nomination more, then that's just pathetic. I'm not saying spider-man don't deserve it, but leaving Valhalla completely out, while giving some short games spot JUST BECAUSE they are console exclusives is pathteic. Absolutelty pathetic. I'm not saying AC Valhalla needs to get "game of the year" nomination, i'm saying, give it ANY nomination. Music, art direction, best action / adventure game, ANYTHING. It doesn't even have to win, just nomination would be enough. I have been gaming over 10 years, it's my biggest passion and hobby and if this game gets no nominations i might just give up gaming. Literally any joy i feel from gaming would be gone and it would be gone because i would know that i'm part of community that doesn't understand greatness. Valhalla focuses on story instead of endlessly grinding your character for a higher gear set and creating your own unique build. Everything in Valhalla matters, from weapons to gear. A great experience for old AC fans and new ones.

It is highly satisfying completing a story arc or traversing the world and finding things that you felt that other players might not have stumbled across due to the nature of the open world and its use of way finders. The lack of load times on Xbox Series S is truly impressive given the nature of environments, landscape, and elements that are present on screen. There were a few issues from characters floating in mid-air, bizarre enemy AI, and straight up freezes, although these were far and few between given the scope of it all. Intuitive and varied combat help keep things fresh, even if it does take a fair few hours of gameplay to really get going. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a thoroughly enjoyable, open-world RPG that is an absolute must for Xbox owners.

In many aspects Valhalla resembles most of Ubisoft’s games, but fortunately progression feels a lot more natural this time around. The game’s not perfect but I had lots of fun conquering new territories, plundering churches, and pillaging coastal villages while following a mature story and enjoying gorgeous, believable medieval Britain.
