    I've been playing video games for 40+ years. This is one of the best games I've ever played in that time. Zelda-esque at times but darker. The storyline is compelling, the character acting is excellent. Graphically its beautiful and darkly ominous in equal measure. The difficulty curve is consistent - there are bits that take a fair few goes to get past and at times can be a bitI've been playing video games for 40+ years. There are some great walkthrough guides if you get stuck! I wasn't expecting to enjoy this game as much as I have, you'll need a little patience to get going and through the first chapter or two and then the game just hooks you! I reckon it took me about 20 hours to play through to the end - I didn't find everything or upgrade everything along the way but still got to the end! For me this game sets a benchmark for role playing games in the current generation of consoles.… Expand

    Pre-ordered and I was extremely happy that there were absolutely no bugs or glitches
    The soundtrack is equally cool and gloomy
    I liked that you can also play with the brother.
    What I didn't like or bothered me was the ending, I think they could have saved it somehow. But no, after all they are the creators of games and we are the players and we have to be satisfied with what they offer us. Anyway, I recommend it wholeheartedly and at the same time I recommend you to buy it. Worth every penny.    … Expand

    This game is actually amazing and well worthy sequel to the original "Innocence". Its very rare that a second addition lives up to the 1st but in this case it definitely does. The writers really outdone themselves with more of a unique story instead of allot of other games where everything can always be predicted with the "stick to what works approach".     I just finished the game, it really is one of the best games of the generation so far. The truth is that the game duo is excellent, the improvements they made to this game were incredible.

    The story is simply magnificent, you get attached to all the characters that appear and suffer with them. Amicia's thoughts/feelings rub off on the player in a way I've never seen a game do that.    I just finished the game, it really is one of the best games of the generation so far.     About combat, I believe they play a good role, demonstrating Amicia's fragility and at the same time her dexterity. Makes the game "real" in my view.
    Stealth has some issues, but much better than many games I've played. It's a little hard to get used to, I think the difficulty progression was a little complex for those who don't "remember" the last game well. Stealth is slightly easier when you know how to use Amicia's tools correctly, but still with its difficulties of carrying only 2 arrows and the stone making a lot of noise. Anyway, just like in other games, you can go full rush burning the bush along with the enemies, exploding the pots with fire, throwing rats and so on.    … Expand

What made me love this masterpiece so much is that Asobo Studios manage to balance all of these out so they complement each other.     Really a magnificent game with an unexpected bug's i mean we all have a bug where the game crashed on us But I had a crash where my Xbox sx had turned off and when i turned it on all of my controllers didn't work
    Shame this bug was terrible but the game still great

    A worthy sequel. Everything about this game is just amazing : atmosphere, narrative, sound design, gameplay & visuals.

    For those new to the series I would highly recommend to play the first masterpiece, A Plague's Tale Innocence, before jumping into this new masterpiece.

    El Goty verdadero del 2022, Juego que me pase hace unos meses . Una grandisima 2 parte , que mejora en todo el anterior juego que ya era increible , una historia super bien contada , que consigue que no pares de jugar porque quieres saber mas . Graficamente lo mejor del 22 sin duda a nivel de detalles pocos estan a la altura . La jugabilidad es un poco mas de lo mismo con nuevas cosas y mejoradas.

    A respectable sequel to the first entry. The classic rat puzzles and stealth sections make a return, as expected, although I wish they had thrown in a tad more variety in. It’s essentially the same exact concept as the first game. That aside, I appreciate the addition of the crossbow and the elemental abilities you can put on the arrows. The pocket knives are satisfying to use as well.A respectable sequel to the first entry. I know this game isn’t meant to be high octane chaotic action at all times, but I can’t help but get bored when the game turns into a walking simulator for 20+mins before some action happens again. The gameplay itself was literally the same, and you didn't even have to hide from enemies, you could just run away from them since the AI was very dumb.     AYOOO one of the best games ever. Nice history, the music on each situation is so good. I don't play innocence before but I'll buy it. I love this game, thx Asobo Studio for give us a masterpiece. I'm waiting for another sequel

    This game has beautiful graphics and an impressive story that surpass lots of other games. Combat feels great and fluid. This game looks great in any way you want to see it. You can really connect with all the characters since they are all really expressive and warm.

The game is also exceedingly linear, leaves little agency to the player to drive the gameplay in any meaningful way. The puzzle elements are very cliche and uninspired. Because, even though this game is GREAT, you will never say, "WOW!". But, in    A Plague Tale is the kind of game that you must play.

    In the end, and only as a personal note, adding some fan service with the protagonist could help give her the immortality she deserves.     One of the best stories in games, gameplay is OK mechanics are the same as in innocence but its still OK, optimisation is meh 30 fps is really uncomfortable at first but after some time you will get used to it.
    Graphics great,animations great, music is amazing,I think only thing that this game was lacking is honour system like in dishonoured 1.

    The game is a successful upgrade of the its predecessor A plague tale: Innocence. The story is deeper, the game play is funnier and more challenging and the graphics are stunning as always. A great pick for story driven games lovers.

    Si el primero era bueno, este es mejor en todos sus aspectos, Es mas y mejor. Que nivel de texturas y con unas localizaciones para el recuerdo. Algo repetitivo en sus mecánicas pero sin duda quiero saber más de Amicia.

    One of the best Games actually for XSX and PS5. I dont play APTI but i watched on YouTube. After Realese i play APTR and Wow...as an "The Last of Us Fanboy" i enjoyed more then TLOUP2.

    A Plage Tale Requiem has a really good Storyline and beautiful Characters/Design. The Graphics (like the chapter with rain in the kingdom) was pure performance and perfection. I Play it on PS5.

    a worthy sequel to the first game.
    the gameplay is nice but they could have added more weapons and more freedom of action and the basic resources more accessible! I HOPE SO MUCH FOR A THIRD GAME IN THE FUTURE!

    A Plague Tale Requiem is one of those games that perfectly takes everything that was good from it's predecessor and made it even better. The player has more options in combat now, including a stun, a second chance to run away after being hit, a crossbow, a stab attack, and a more reliable get out of jail free item for escaping rats. All of these things feel natural, are easy to execute,A Plague Tale Requiem is one of those games that perfectly takes everything that was good from it's predecessor and made it even better. The player has more options in combat now, including a stun, a second chance to run away after being hit, a crossbow, a stab attack, and a more reliable get out of jail free item for escaping rats. All of these things feel natural, are easy to execute, and are fun. The stealth is also better with larger environments that have multiple pathways for you to weave through areas, and subtle upgrades to your speed and throwing distance. The upgrade system for sneaking, fighting, and alchemy are very useful and passively implemented based on how you play. Most importantly the story and characters are upgraded. Amicia and Hugo's journey goes through some incredible ups and downs (mostly downs), that just build and build in such a gradual crescendo over time that you really really feel the ending. You can't play this game and not feel something. And the side characters introduced here are much deeper and integrated into the plot better than the first game as well.

    If I had to criticize one thing about the game I think I would say some of the sound mixing on the voices was a little weird. Characters such as soldiers often have their voices filtered to sound like they're speaking through metal helmets, even when they're not actually wearing helmets. It's just a little weird but it's not huge.

    Beautiful game with tragic characters.
    The story was more impactful than some other, "masterpieces".
    The only thing that brings it down for me is the tedious last repetative battles with the same enemies, over and over again.

My next two biggest issues actually tie together quite well. There are far too many forced walking sections, hey! You know what? I don't mind a good walking moment, especially when the acting is as good as it is here. But, there're just too many and too close together, that it would get annoying at times. Which is one of the reasons why it's a perfect segue into how I think it... well, it over stays its welcome. Not by much mind you! But towards the end wanted it to wrap up. I was still enjoying myself and heavily invested in the story, I had just found myself wishing that it got there a little sooner (granted, I was taking my time and looking for every collectible, so I know that my feelings on that might have changed if I was just following the path with no deviation). But still, even with that, it should have ended maybe an hour, at most two hours sooner. I didn't want them to cut anything from the story itself, because it really is so good! But there was bloated moments or even animations that I knew shouldn't take so long and it all just added up to a longer run time when it didn't need to. So those are my complaints. My praise for this game is so high that I'll keep it short. The acting is breath taking most of the time, the writing is fantastic! The gameplay is a lot more involved and evolved then the first title. It is a heck of a lot of fun to play and it's jaw dropping to look at and experience. You need to play this one! Especially on game pass, you have no right not playing this if you have game pass. I personally think it's worth full price but... it is a must play and falls in my top games of 2022. Although, I won't say why but there are 17 chapters and I strongly believe it should've ended after 16, it was the perfect ending in my opinion.… Expand

It’s not often I feel a true connection to characters in video games, but everything this game does makes it impossible not to love and hate them like family.

    It’s visually stunning (a couple cutscenes had floating bolts or the like), and perhaps the best stealth game I’ve ever played. It’s certainly not perfect; there were several instances where my character died or was discovered but some how the game decided to spawn me as if I completed the section or boss. By no means did it feel like the game goes easy on you though. The writing, voice acting, and music are great. Wear a decent pair of headphones for an immersive experience, the atmospheric audio really adds to gameplay in a dramatic way. You’re a part of their journey, and I was literally on the edge of my seat. I’m not being overly praiseful, read my other reviews (I’m hard to please). This game makes me optimistic for the future of gaming and western storytelling. They were right on the edge of pushing the “strong independent woman” cliche in at one point, but quickly shifts towards telling the real story about an authentic heroine. If you know your history you will love the subtle and bold ways they link the story to true historical events, people; and perhaps even gives our ancestors a break in regard to their potential for complex interpretations of our world. 10/10 Will replay in the future and still cry. - Grown ass man that kills his own food.    … Expand

    Great graphics and sound but other than that it’s exactly the same as the first one but longer. I loved the innocence ‘cause it was a fresh and amazing video game. But requiem it’s just a copy and paste with some “new” additions here and there.

    Really needs to be played on a 120hz screen for 40hz support. I really struggle with 30fps, but find 40 ok. For a slow, adventure/stealth game it's fine. The story is amazing, the world just oozes with atmosphere. Really enjoyable game.

    One of the best and most visually striking games I have ever played. Really immersive experience, awesome character performances, faces look REAL and the eyes look perfect... Can't say much more other than THANK YOU for the incredible story, completing it left a permanent mark on my memory. 9/10 cause it's a 30fps game.

    Parte centrale un po' più lenta, ma bel finale in crescendo.
    Gameplay apprezzabile anche se poco innovativo: le meccaniche sanno molto di già visto.

    I played the first game, and tried this second game on Game Pass. But I could not get through it: instead of one we now have two whiney main characters. And the combat system is still tedious & frustrating. So this is just not the game for me.

    I didn't play the first installment so I went totally blind into this one. What caught my interest immediately was the setting and the story. It was like reading a good book you can't put down. During the entire gameplay I was mostly focused in grasping every bit of story, dialogues and cutscenes. I also loved all the puzzles involving rats!     A truly extraordinary, unique, standalone game. I seriously cannot rate this enough! It is such a breath of fresh air. I have not fallen in love with a game like A Plague Tale for a looooong time! Give it a try, it will be worth it!

    A Plague Tale: Requiem develops the strengths of the first chapter to the full, to create a cinematically cut, emotionally charged adventure with satisfying stealth mechanics, action, puzzles, memorable characters, heart-pounding sequences and lots and lots of rats.

    Sequels are hard. Team Asobo has managed to make a more compelling world with even more compelling characters and wrapped it in a gorgeous bow. There are issues for sure. The game doesn’t innovate nearly enough and performance on next-gen consoles is disappointing, but this game continues to prove that this team of developers is extremely talented. I hope we continue to see them flourish and create new experiences. A Plague Tale: Requiem is a truly exceptional experience that everyone should check out. It is on Game Pass so the barrier to entry is lighter. Definitely give it a shot.

    No game is perfect, but A Plague Tale: Requiem is everything I could have asked for in a sequel. It refines and improves on all of the issues I had with Innocence, creating a game that doesn’t feel all that different, but simply feels far better. Instead of reinventing the wheel, the team at Asobo Studio evolved it instead, making a far better version of an already good game with a refined version of the same formula. Anyone who remotely enjoyed the original needs to check it out.
