Although rough and glitchy (funny at moments) WWE 2k16 is a step in the right direction for a franchise trying to please new fans with those of the attitude was, although its gameplay and general design lacks luster, WWE 2k16 is a fun experience especially for fans of this theater (sport), but it will go unnoticed by those who are not interested in this genre.

Mediocre at best. Good sized roster. All the game modes that you'd expect are in the game. My biggest problem is the reversals. It feels very sensitive and there are times when the button prompt is shown to hit 'RT' and I hit it and nothing happens. The game feels very slow and it doesn't do a great job explaining things to people who haven't played the previous installments in the pastMediocre at best. Good sized roster. Admittedly, the last WWE game I played was SmackdownVsRaw 2010. I love wrestling and it isn't too bad of a game. I'd suggest renting it first to see if it's what you're looking for before making a decision to buy. Expand

When I got this game I expected it to be fun, instead I got a lacking roster which was supposed to be the "biggest ever" and it feels so stripped. Gameplay is so slow and tedious. The submission system is garbage as well. Pin system has been made easier and the AI seem to adapt. Matches last forever as well. Creation Suite is back and it's good but we had this years ago minus logos. I can understand why so many people are complaining about the controls in this game, it can be confusing and not user friendly at all. The difficulty can be a little challenging even on "EASY" and can take a while to get use to. I think this game targets more the Wrestling fanatics and if you are just the type of person that likes to pick up a game and play than this game is not for you

    wwe 2k16 disappoints

. with so much potential it's such a shame to see it crash and burn. First ill talk about the pros, the main thing that saves this game from getting a lower rating is the content. . with so much potential it's such a shame to see it crash and burn. First ill talk about the pros, the main thing that saves this game from getting a lower rating is the content. The content is fantastic from the new belt creator to the expanded 2k showcase, these are the main elements that saves it. This years 2k showcase focuses on the hall of famers people such as Steve Austin, the rock, rick flair and that's just to name a few. you get the same well edited story mode as you would expect, this is something 2k do very well. career mode is something else that is very improved, NO MORE VICKY thank god... instead of having vicky telling you after every match you do that your in line for a "push" you can now join a race for the number one contender spot which unfortunately has its flaws. probably the main problem with career mode is that you have to be in a rivalry with the champ, no matter where you are on the contenders list if your not in a rivalry your not getting a tittle shot, this is something that can be frustrating. Something career mode does well is the new heel/face system it adds in multiple personality's you can be, this is judged on the stuff you do in matches and also the stuff you say in promos/interviews. You can now win the money in the bank on career mode which was a nice addition. On to my wwe which is litterally the same from wwe 2k15, almost nothing new. Another thing they did well was the additon of new unlocks which you unlock while playing the wwe 2k showcase they include t shirts, outfits, arenas, superstars and much more. This has been doubled since wwe 2k15. The final thing that they did well was the roster, there are now sooooo many superstars, divas and managers. it has comebacks from loads of hall of famers and older superstars who aren't with the company any more like batista and such. A return who i was happy to see was JBL, he hadnt been in a wwe game in a quite a while and it was nice to see him back. Now on the stuff that is just plain **** One of these things is the soundtrack which is just horrible. about 1 hour after i got the game i turned all of the songs off and just put wrestlers entrance music on (something you couldn't actually do in prior wwe games). Another terrible thing is the submissions system which is very frustrating, whether its trying to get out of a submission or trying to submit someone is so annoying and very frustrating the old one was so much better. The reversal system im a bit mixed about... i can understand and appreciate what it's trying to stop which was a massive loop of reversals but it doesn't do it very at the start the ai will reverse a move in the first 30 secs which is annoying AF because to get the upper hand you have to waste one of your reversals. Now on to the worst thing in wwe 2k16 which is the gameplay. They have now made gameplay very slow and it feels so clunky, the animation for the kick out is very basic and boring. The worst part of all this is gameplay just isn't fun.

The series' all-time high point inside the ring - but still a year away from being the complete package. [Christmas 2015, p.79]

Iffy submission system aside, this is the smoothest and most authentic WWE game to date. [Christmas 2015, p.74]

WWE 2K16 brings some improvements, but not enough to be the game fans deserve. Smashing the opponent from the ladders through the table is great, until you turn to the audience and realize they look like they came from a PS2 game. But if you close your eyes, the game at least sounds awesome.
