Wildfire has you master the elements in this stealth game where everything burns. Use your elemental powers to start fires, freeze water, and move earth as you outsmart superstitious enemies in this mischievous 2D stealth game that allows you to embrace elements to your advantage, as a concept the game had a lot of potential. Use your elemental powers to start fires, freeze water, and move earth as you outsmart superstitious enemies in this mischievous 2D stealth game that allows you to embrace elements to your advantage, as a concept the game had a lot of potential. However, I didn’t feel like Wildfire brought anything new to the table, it’s riddled with a few bugs, lacks some creative level design, and enemy variety. Even though the elements were fun to use, it does make up for the shortcomings that this game has in some ways. Wildfire contains a lot of familiar features if you’ve played other stealth games. Enemies have set patrol routes that you must navigate while avoiding their line of sight. The player character’s actions generate noise that enemies can hear. Sounds are visualized by a ring emitted from the player character; enemies outside the ring won’t be alerted to your location. Objects in the environment can be used as hiding places to conceal the playable character. It’s standard play for the type of game that it’s aimed to be. Worth checking out for fans of the genre. Wildfire on Xbox is bursting with ideas, and there is a deceptively deep stealthy adventure on offer. Sometimes the pacing can feel off, but once you get your head around it, there’s plenty to enjoy here.

The many distinct scenarios within Wildfire are great fun to master no matter how you approach them and it's impressively funny, too.
