    Even though the formula is nothing new and has taken maybe too much inspiration from the Diablo series, it’s a great journey and finally Warhammer fans have been given a game they deserve.

    Warhammer: Chaosbane is a very conservative game, which bets on the safest formula and introduces virtually nothing new to the genre. Still, the game is very enjoyable and is one of the best of the saga.

    Whilst not quite as deep, varied, or refined as its widely acclaimed contemporaries, Warhammer: Chaosbane still manages to serve up a solid ARPG that packs quite a punch. The game plays well, looks good, and sports heaps of replay value across the board. Despite the odd issue with its combat diversity and its poor voice work, fans of both the genre and the source material will no doubt thoroughly enjoy what’s on offer.

Despite the voice acting being a little lacklustre at times (or not present), I found the presentation side of the game to be very impressive and most important of all throwback to long time favorites with an extended journey and easy to manage inventory system and skill tree. All in all the Warhammer franchise is fantastic, it has a long history of varied game play. To say then that I was looking forward to Warhammer: Chaosbane would be quite the understatement and being a fan of the series earlier mentioned I was excited and found a very enthralling experience in the end. The entertainment was experienced almost immediately as I plugged head first into battle looting and hunting for better gear with each drop. The customization of combat elements and the skills you can upgrade provides a huge amount of customization you can change on the fly and even the same class of character can feel very different from the decisions you make in their abilities. Using your abilities when in combat is always fun as well because there is a decent amount of varied enemies for you to face around every corner. The boss battles are great and defeating them was so rewarding especially when cranking up the difficulty. In terms of problems the game has a few that aren’t too bothersome but there is an issue that disappointed me a little and that is the number of times I had to revisit certain areas within a new mission. Warhammer: Chaosbane tickled my fancy despite it could have been better in a few areas. I'm looking forward to the additional content coming in the season pass and how in depth the evolution of the game will take us. Overall a fabulous game and a must buy for any fan of the genre.… Full Review »

    What sold me on this game initially was that it was basically a Diablo style of game. In the past Van Helsing and Victor Vran were both fun Diablo style action RPG. Unfortunately Warhammer Chaosbane doesn't quite hit that mark. The enemies are generic and repetitive and the loot is the same. No matter what loot I got it never changed the appearance of my character at all. The game at times was a cake walk to stupid hard with no rhyme or reason. I also had a huge problem with the level up system. I never truly got the hang of it and to get anywhere it seemed like I was going to have to play through the game multiple times. Honestly June has enough good games coming out that you can miss this one entirely. I give this game a PASS.… Full Review »
