    Here is why:

    I was nervous about pre ordering this game (not that it really matters since there is literally no harm no foul for cancelling a pre order and it's only $5)... but my trepidation was from the fact that (surprisingly) not many people I knew had heard of this game in the year leading up to it, but also, I had very high expectations due to the promises of the "throwback rpg" that was supposedly bundled in a "Firefly" type universe. I mean... c'mon! What more could you ask for?

    By "throwback rpg," I'm referring to the good ol' days where your decisions ACTUALLY meant something. Your freedom was real and not artificial and not just some marketing promise used to get you to buy the game. I'm talking "old school, dialogue heavy, relationship building, watch your vicarious character's traits/personalities flesh out and evolve right before your eyes based off of your decisions and actions" kind of game.... did that make sense?

    So with my high expectations, I couldn't help but feel that I was setting myself up for disappointment... like so many other games that came out in recent years (*cough* Days Gone *cough*). SO MANY GAMES get our hopes up with OVER promising and UNDER-delivering.

    Folks, this game delivers on all fronts. True RPG. True to it's promises of decision making/impacting dialogue... OH AND the combat. One thing I didn't hold my breath on (because of past shooting mechanics of the Fallout game) was the... shooting... mechanics. I was doubly prepared for poor shooting because I just came off of Borderlands 3, where the shooting is phenomenal! LOW AND BEHOLD....THE SHOOTING MECHANICS ARE SHOCKINGLY GREAT! Perfect? No. But they hold their own, which just adds to the already superb premise of the game play. It looks like Death Stranding is set up to be a snooze fest and a disappointment (based off of early reviews... even the good reviews state it's boring and extremely frustrating). All I gotta say is thank you "The Outer Worlds" for being the first game in a long time.... maybe ever for keeping ALL OF YOUR PROMISES... AND THEN SOME!!    … Expand

    GOTY, best rpg since Witcher 3, New vegas and Divinity Original Sin 2.
    Simply amazing!

    - amazing game world
    - Its a blast to play
    - Great roleplaying and builds

    The absolute only thing that could make this game better is add in 3rd person perspective, and even without that I'm still one hundred percent confident in saying that this game is as close to perfect that a game is going to get.

    Playing this on the xbox one acts in 4K is absolutely stunning. Played over 20 hours and I don't even think I'm 20% into the game yet. The game is very well done

    the best game i played since Red Dead Redemption 2,gameplay is the best part of it,and ofcourse the dialog and conversation parts so fun,i mean you can really spoke of it,one of the best RPG Game ever played.Tnx Obsidian Entertainment.

    Just wow. When this great, proper action RPG gets compared with Bethesda's latest offering, it really is embarrassing just how far Bethesda have fallen. The outer worlds looks fantastic, runs smooth as silk (on PS4 Pro) and is rich in detail, content, character development options, customisation and combat. It is everything you could possibly hope this genre of video game would be and aJust wow. When this great, proper action RPG gets compared with Bethesda's latest offering, it really is embarrassing just how far Bethesda have fallen. The outer worlds looks fantastic, runs smooth as silk (on PS4 Pro) and is rich in detail, content, character development options, customisation and combat. It is everything you could possibly hope this genre of video game would be and a ton load more added in just as a bonus - out of the collective goodness of Obsidian's heart.

    This gem! From the creator of the fan favourite Fallout New Vegas, Obsidian is once again showing Bethesda how it's REALLY done - (to the point of dishing out a huge dose of abject humiliation in the process in this particular case)

    Compare The Outer Worlds to the broken mess that was and still is Fallout 76, with its over priced micro transactions and utterly disgraceful, borderline criminal (imo) Subscription "Service." Bethesda (probably being forced to by its owner Zenimax to do so) have turned their sheer greed and audacity up to 11 and have just gone straight for the "desperate cash grab" strategy aimed directly (and ruthlessly) at the few players that actually stuck with their half finished rubbish. That's what fan loyalty got them! Nice!

    Anyway, compare that dumpster fire atrocity of a game with this. Night and Day only begins to illustrate the point.

    That said, we do now have to anxiously wait to see if Take 2 interactive decides to introduce micro transactions into the outer worlds and break all of our hearts in doing so. Please T2I. Just Nooooo!

    TLTR:

    1 Good game by a good developer = buy 2 Bad game by a bad developer = leave to others to buy

    This is how its done. It's not a high budget, state of the art graphics AAA game but it has been made with love and care. This is the game I have been waiting for Bethesda to make. The universe, atheistic and worlds are so well crafted. Its a love letter to fallout fans who miss the good old days. No bs microtransactions or lootboxes or **** like that. Just a good game.     Mass Effect 2 + Fallout: New Vegas = The Outer World. A masterpiece from the creators of New Vegas and KOTOR 2. Obsidian, big thanks for this game! And MicroSoft, I appreciate you put in Game Pass from the beginning. I will purchase this game for support the developers. We definitely need Mass Effect- and Fallout-like games and now Obsidian is on the top.

    tres horas jugando y con ganas de mas, lastima que tenga que trabajar. En gráficos si tiene un 8 pero lo que es historia y jugabilidad comienza en sobremanera, igual le falta un tanto de pulido en el apartado de optimizacion, nada que no se pueda arreglar con un parche

    Amazing game. Great characters, great story and great world. This game is what Fallout games should be. If you like a good RPG and was a fan of Fallout games prior to Fallout 04 and ugh, Fallout 76 this is the game for you. Do yourself a favor and play this game, you won't regret it!

    Amazing game!!! Not a single bug yet!!! Did you hear that Bethesda?! I haven't had this much fun in a game like this since New Vegas. Quality start to finish. Love this game!!!

    Absolutely amazing game, well done Obsidian. Nice to see some companies still care about us players who prefer single player games. No online required, no micro transactions, just pure fun, great visuals and so far a very good story.

    Excelente RPG. Além da semelhança aos bons tempos de Fallout, percebi influência de Dishonored também. A complexidade do RGP não dificulta a experiência. Pelo contrário, causa imersão e abre várias possibilidades para a história.

    The game is pure Magic, the perfect replacement for Fallout in this dark days of Bethesda, if you love Fallout Saga you gonna love this game, play this game in Xbox One X in Native 4K, the game is fantastic a masterpiece.

    A worthy successor to Fallout: New Vegas. While it is short on content (in one playthrough; making different choices can lead to vastly different outcomes) , this is Obsidian's first attempt at a proper first-person RPG in a long time and does not have a huge budget. Any criticisms I have are nitpicks, and it is almost entirely bug-free.

    Very impressed with this game!The dialogue is clever and enjoyable. The gameplay is outstanding and smooth. What a treasure! Players will love the RPG mechanics and will not be able to put the game down. I am not crazy in saying this game is a favorite for game of the year. JUMP IN NOW Have fun!

    amazing game. so much to do and can replay it with sooooooo many diff choices, playing with diff companions etc Better than fallout new vegas! its like a fallout game but in outer space, so many choices to make, super cool guns, like a mini ray which will shrink enemies, all kinds of wacky guns. the diff planets are beautiful, the writing is AMAZING. its beyond worth the $. I pray for a sequel

    y aquí repetimos dosis, ya que el ultimo proyecto de este desarrollador tan apasionado por lo que hace no decepciona, ni de lejos.
    Empecemos dejando algo en claro, esta juego no tiene la mas mínima intención de inovar o traer cosas nuevas a la ecuación que hace un shooter RPG, sino mas bien hacer un doctorado en lo que estos chicos y chicas ya tienen dominado, y lo hacen de forma maravillosa

    Hablemos de construcción de personaje: Parte esencial de todo RPG (como de su contratarte en el papel) es la construcción de personaje que usaremos a lo largo de nuestra aventura, en este apartado Obsidian lo hace de forma excelsa y grata al darnos cuenta que no abandonan el sistema de puntos y progresión de habilidades que nos entregaron en su participación en Fallout, dándonos un abanico de opciones bastante amplio a escoger en cuanto a nuestro personaje, abanico que conforme van subiendo los niveles se abre mas y mas.

    Los ambientes que nos plantea el juego son lo suficientemente variados para mantenernos interesados en saber que hay un poquito mas aya, aunque esta vez optan por un mapa estelar dividido en zonas en lugar de un gran mapa unico, lo cual, pienso yo, no es ni bueno ni malo, solo diferente, ls gama de personajes es variada, pero con sus limitaciones, me sorprende que la tendencia actual de grupos sociales impregnara un juego de obsidian, siendo muy marcado en el hecho de que la gran mayoria de personajes femeninos son muy genéricos, siempre de pelo corto, de igual manera me choca un poquito el hecho de que el juego no tiene intenciones de desarollar ningún tipo de trama amorosa o de relación con ninguno de los acompañantes, pero se ta todo el tiempo de la colonia a desarrollar una relación entre una de las tripulantes y una ingeniera, me parece un poco incongruente por ese lado.

    Los acompañantes que podemos tener son de lo mas variopintos, dándonos a escoger a quien nos caiga mejor, con quien tengamos mejor sinergia, o que potencie alguna característica que necesitemos

    La historia es interesante, graciosa, picante y a veces hasta un poco sosa, mezcla en un rico licuado, comedia, aventura e intriga

    Algo a destacar es que desde el día 1 de su lanzamiento esta disponible en el servicio de MIcrosoft "Game pass" esto gracias a la reciente incorporación de Obsidian a la cartera de desarolladores de Microsoft Game Studios, esperemos que sigan subiendo el nivel con los presupuestos que maneja Microsoft y puedan entregarnos excelentes juegos con su nueva chapita de Microsoft Game Studios

    En conclusión: The Outter Worlds cumple bastante bien con una expectativa que teníamos ya de por si muy arriba, se doctoran en shooter RPG y nos deja con un gran sabor de boca después de invertirle mas de 35 horas de juego    … Expand

    Que jogo foda. Já no início ali vc faz uma simples missão secundária q se transforma em uma mega trama muito boa q da vontade de saber o que vai acontecer. As histórias são interligadas, achei muito legal isso também. Vale a pena jogar não apenas pela história mas o gameplay e fluido e muito bom.

    Great art style. Has a god amount of content, but not too much to where I fell overwhelmed like many other RPG's. I am going to play through it a second time with a different build. I haven't had any frame rate issues and the first person shooting and combat is a lot of fun. The best part is the dialogue. It is well done and funny.     This game is my pick for GOTY. It has a good mix of Fallout NV and Mass Effect. So much depth to the game and dialog choices actually carry impact to the world. It was a surprise for me. I played on Game Pass but it is worth a purchase. My first 10/10 in awhile.

    nunca fui fã de RPG. decidi me aventurar por estar no game pass. já joguei mais de 15 horas e fico procurando mais missões para realizar. estou jogando no modo normal no xbox OneX pelo gamepass. assim que terminar pretendo comprar mídia física para coleção.

    Great game so far. Had to rate it because the game is so good in my opinion. The only thing that’s kinda weird is the consumables. I find myself missing some of the crafting elements of fallout as well. It’s easier to do in this game as mods are purchased instead of crafted but idk I liked mixing Nuka colas and stuff. I enjoy the humor and the characters. The graphics are amazing and personally I enjoy the semi psychedelic color schemes. I feel like normal mode is too easy, and while hard is tough I enjoy tough battles. I probably won’t get into survival mode as I die enough in hard. I wish it had more auto saves. I just manually save a lot now because it’s annoying when you res pawn 2 loading screens ago. I’m excited to finish this adventure so hope this info helps. I’m rating 10/10 because I do think it’s a really great game, there was no false claims or shady business going on like micro-transactions and other bs, and giving forgiveness on the things I don’t like because I would like to see them high enough rated where they can either hire a bigger team or work with a larger studio in the future.… Expand

    The gameplay is "ok", nothing far away from Fallout New Vegas, but the comparison end here, as an RPG lover, this game is amazing with a great story, great lore and nice dialogues, the missions are well connected between main and side quests, not like TES/Fallout where they throw a hundred of missions and you forget what that mission was about

    Why is this literally what we wanted from fallout 76 but obsidian delivered a well made and bug free ( at least for me) game! This is what happens when you take your time and make a game that fans actually care, and not something to just make money out of! The best part of the game is the funny commentary that is happening in the background. Just adds a depth of level design in my opinion!

    This is GOTY for me. Obsidian never fails to deliver and this game is not exception. Is really impressive with the limited budget and all, and really got me hyped for what they can do with Microsoft money. Really recommend this game if you’re looking to scratch that BioWare/Fallout series itch!

    One of Obsidians Best works! The worlds are abit smaller but still very good made, the art design is beautifull and the comedy of the game is on top! The gameplay is very smooth and very polished even the meele combat was very refined and well done, it dosn't feel out of place at all.

    Outer Worlds is amazing. It's a real RPG with choices and consequences, a living world, charismatic characters, freedom of choice. If you "destroy" a place, know that it will have consequences. Characters may or may not like you, some may enjoy sarcastic humor and some may not, so consider that your teammates may abandon you. Anyway, my final opinion is that if you like RPGs, you shouldOuter Worlds is amazing. It's a real RPG with choices and consequences, a living world, charismatic characters, freedom of choice.     This is a refreshing game with all the bells and whistles. I have spent approximately 15 hours on it so far and I'm impressed. If you liked fallout New Vegas and mass effect you will love this game. When I first started playing I thought it would shoot like fallout games however it was much better!

    This game is what the market has been lacking since fallout new Vegas. I can’t get enough of it and can’t wait to play it everyday after work! Obsidian hit all the right places with this game!

    This game is almost perfect, great dialog, amazing characters with drones of depth. Doing missions any way you want. Beautiful worlds. Fantastic gunplay. This game is an amazing and complete package that will give you hours of game time while only asking for your purchase to play. Not even that if you have game pass.

    One of the best games of this year. I really like the dialogue system and the pumping system in the game. There are small bugs and errors in localization, but this does not interfere with the game.

    The dialog and decision tree branching is amazing - just like New Vegas. The graphics are great and the gameplay is very entertaining. Turning the HUD off in the settings makes the game more immersive. This is the direction the Fallout franchise should have gone.

Everything in this game rocks, there are few bugs, short loading screens, interesting characters, a really awesome character designer, an awesome story, decent combat mechanics, amazing companions, the dialogue is the best Ive ever seen. and the writing is right upCouldn't have asked for a better game to come out this year!     I love this game, I've played 9 hours so far and I'm loving it, best rpg I've played for a while, best since Witcher and skyrim I'd say, exactly what I needed, beautiful world, lots of choices in dialogue and gameplay, fun firefights, decent character customisation, I'm having alot of fun with it so far, I love the ship and the crew part a really nice touch!     Loved the art style, and gameplay. The different consequences for every action is refreshing and has me considering every choice I make. The character progression is pretty balanced and the choice to respec my skills for a handful of bits is great for changing your approach on problem solving.

    Easily the best game of its sort I have played in a decade. It does have its issues, its not perfect by any stretch but it is competent and that is more than I can say for anything else of its ilk currently.
    It doesn't have a single open world, rather multiple reasonably large well crafted smaller area's that you travel between.     Story/Characters: This game is charming, halarious, and dark all at the same time. You are constantly required to make hard decisions which have a lasting impact on the world around you. The quests, for the most part, are engaging and entertaining. The characters you meet are never forgettable; this is especially true of the more important characters and followers.

    Combat/Items: Pretty good but nothing crazy. I enjoy the weapon system, which includes lots of unique weapons and modifications. Armor is pretty basic, but modifications keep it interesting. Consumables can provide all sorts of effects and prove to be useful if you're strategic about it.

    Graphics and General Gameplay: It's a good looking game. It runs really smoothly, and I have yet to experience any weird bugs or problems so far. Frame rate remains pretty stable and is more than enough unless you're a very discerning gamer who demands 60fps.

    Character Building, Skills, Attributes: As you would probably expect, the game gives you a million different ways to build your character. Each problem has a number of different solutions; A diplomatic character can talk/lie their way out of it, some may silently murder their problems away, and others might just bash everyone's brains out with an electrified hammer. The perks also provide a lot of individuality, spanning from slowing down time more often to improving trade prices.

    It's just a great game overall. It really does remind me of New Vegas in a way, but it's also way better in basically every way imaginable. It's the best RPG I've played in a long time, and has reminded me what it's like to wish every minute could be spent playing a video game.    … Expand

    Love the game. Amazing some parts get a little boring at times but once it picks up it goes back to being amazing. Just really wish there was some type of radio to listen to and that's the only issue I have with the game. It's the Fallout New Vegas sequel we never got. Love it.

    Just a fantastic rpg and an instant classic, from the first planet itself its proven that obsidians are the masters of western RPGs.Not much to say bout this game.If u have an xbox or PC buy gamepads and if u have a ps4 and love RPGs, buy this

    If you l love Fallout:New Vegas you'll definitely enjoy playing this game. This game may not have the open world map scale compared to Fallout 4 but it is incredibly dense in content

    Playing this on the xbox one acts in 4K is absolutely stunning amazing!. Played over 200 hours and I don't even think I'm 20% into the game yet. It's Insane is more than Fallout 4!

    The dialogue and decisions in this thing are fantastic. Love the fresh coat of a paint in a genre that has often been *very* grey. I hope to see more in this universe!

    There’s no micro-transactions so that’s a first of 2019. The story is great and the characters are all unique. It is definitely the best game of 2019

    The Outer Worlds is a well-written, novel, gorgeous roleplaying game, made for today using some of yesterday's best tricks. If you fall into the trap of using fast travel it can feel like ticking off to-do list items instead of adventuring. But if you force yourself to slow down and let the sharp dialogue, otherworldly vistas, and intriguing characters work their magic, it's one of the best roleplaying experiences of the last few years.

    As a recent addition to the Microsoft Game Studios family, Obsidian have put their best foot forward with The Outer Worlds. Solid gun play, an engaging story with great, likeable characters and a world that is fun to explore and interact with. Some missions let the side down a little and the game could be bigger but with so many nods to the great RPG predecessors and taking the best elements from them this is a great game to pick up.
