I dont like to give a game a rating of 0 and i liked Skyrim very much but this "Special Edition" delivers the same quest breaking and game breaking bugs that occured in the 360 version. Bethesda, this is not acceptable!

I'm being overly dramatic on the score, the game is fine, but rereleasing a 6-year-old single player game to add microtransactions is frankly unacceptable and that's why it deserves a zero.

The price tag alone is a pure betrayal to people who already bought the game and sunk hours into it already. This is Bethesda at its worst, making a company like EA look good. There's nothing new to see here apart from "God Rays" and Dynamic Depth of field, which is already a standard for most games.

vanilla skyrim = 5/10 adventure sandbox

a perfectly mediocre non-rpg and wasteful time sink; a game VOID of in-game rpg mechanics a game for people who foolishly think imagining in their minds equates to roleplaying video game a game that forces self-imposed restrictions due to a lack of actual in-game rpg mechanics shallow, meaningless, simpleton combat, horrid writing,

a game for people who foolishly think imagining in their minds equates to roleplaying video game
a game that forces self-imposed restrictions due to a lack of actual in-game rpg mechanics

shallow, meaningless, simpleton combat, horrid writing, dimwitted, boring, broken upon release/bugs
    casual, accessible, mass appeal, fluff
horrid design decisions, super nerfing, lazy
    dumbed-down, handholding, babysitting, brainless, soulless

it is in my personal “most overrated games of all time” list with such dumbed down bores like, zelda especially breath, mass effect 2 (non rpg), a creed 2, fallout3/4, final fantasy, gta, the last of us and many others.

Skyrim on xbox one se review: with all the great mods... 8/10 adventure game and possible rpg elements

as of today, there are mods to improve lots of the dumbed down atrocities of vanilla and actually turn it into a... semi-reasonable adventure game with some minimal rpg mechanics with the right mods, though, most of them alter it with combat and content additions.

one can only alter so much of skyrims fundamental core.

how dumbed-down will vanilla tes6 be? well, we can use the non-rpg, subpar fps called vanilla fallout4 as our guide...

    * mod and player improvements (self-imposed restrictions) DO NOT count in any way, shape or form towards a games review upon release *

There was no reason to make this remaster, Skyrim is not that old and this remaster sucks, it doesn't really improve the game.

Buggy mess with performance issues and crashing. I have never played a game that crashes this much and is so poorly optimised!

Sure, it’s still awesome in scope and there’s a ton of content in the package, but it only offers minimal visual improvements, dated gameplay, and inexplicable legacy bugs. Unless someone defines their RPG experience by sun rays and water effects, this reissue just doesn’t represent a notable improvement over the original. Still, for those who aren’t yet Dragonborn, this is the best way to become so.

If you've never set foot in the world of Skyrim then now's the time to get your feet wet. Still one of the best RPGs to date and that's not just nostalgia talking.

With dragons to fight, weapons to craft, a home to make, and children to adopt, Skyrim: Special Edition represents the better gaming experiences I’ve had from Bethesda. Their fantasy games are more visually and narratively interesting to me instead of the the cynicism and nihilism that lives in the Fallout series. And because of its wintery locale, Skyrim is a really cozy game to play on a cold, rainy day. Unless you’re still playing it, picking up Skyrim: Special Edition is a good enough excuse to enjoy the video game equivalent of comfort food.
