If you value your free time, or have a backlog of games to get through, then be warned: The Colonists can put you under the same magical spell as the original Settlers and ANNO. While its slowness can be occasionally irksome, particularly in the Campaign, it has a habit of dragging you back in. Book a week off, find a log cabin with wi-fi and no intrusions, and watch the time disappear.

I've really enjoyed every minute of my time with The Colonists. Even with the bump in the road with its pacing, I'm beyond happy with the whole experience. I'd play with these cute little robots any day of the week and developers CodeByFire should pat themselves on the back for the effort put forth. For me, I'm going to board the rocket back to Earth and move onto the next adventure with my adorable robots.

The Colonists is a ‘warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold day’ kind of game, very comforting, peaceful RTS with plenty of depth and stats under the hood to warrant sticking with it.

The Colonists is a funny game about colonization with beautiful and attractive graphics, it has an addictive playability but maybe too easy for experienced players. After all it’s a very entertaining game.

The Colonists puts you in charge of robots that ventured off into space to find and build their own home away from humans. Regarding any formThe Colonists puts you in charge of robots that ventured off into space to find and build their own home away from humans. Regarding any form of plot, this is about all you getting, but what you expect of an ever-growing colony of cute robots constructing their way to a new way of life to call their own? When opting for the campaign route, you are present with a calm experience of just learning the game and how things work. Everyone relies on everyone, so the bigger your colony gets, the more you have to balance things out to run smoothly at all times. On the other end of the spectrum, there is the path that puts you against a rival colony in an attempt to capture their colony ship. This can get quite heated, a complete contrast to the calming experience, as you have to take over territory to have the space to build your colony and the needed military structures to defend your homestead. In either case, you will reach a point where you have to expand with shipping routes between established colonies, as resources is sometimes not within immediate reach. Other modes include challenges to reach certain goals within a certain time from the point when beginning. For these challenges I would recommend taking them on once you learned a system that works best as the game can be, as simple as it looks, can be challenging if this is the first time taking on a colony with a production line mechanism to it. The learning curve is simple enough to understand but it does involve a lot of keeping head of what is where, in short, the game will test your micro-managing skills. The overall style of the of the game is soft on the eyes with minimal detail, and that’s a good thing, as it does present itself as a more relaxed type game with music that fits the style. One can simply describe it as Easy to Understand and Hard to Master. If this is the genre of game you enjoy, then be sure to download it from the Xbox digital games store today. You won't regret it! NOT LIKE ANNO! But fun but bugged and unbalanced

The game looks promising at first but further you progress into the missions the more design flaws you encounter. - "story" missions are very poorly done with often same objective to just build one building. - Game has massive problems with transportation of goods between islands and you will hit that obstacle very soon in the game. Some story missions are extremely hard not because scenario is hard but because transport between harbors is rubbish.
    - Technologies are mostly not useful and pricey which makes them useless.
    - Challenges are currently almost impossible to make due to harbor problems mentioned before.

In the mid to post game you actually won't have problem with resources - you will have problems with retarded robots transporting them and its not something that should happen in city builder.
