But all in all, it's a very entertaining game that I've spent many hours playing.

Though you may see this game flooded with bad reviews, most are from the initial release, which in all honesty, was terrible. However, since the release, many of the issues have been resolved and the game is now pretty solid despite the fact that EA has cut support on it. Overall a good game.

It's lack of iconic star wars characters really brings this game down and if you've ever wanted to play call of duty in star wars that's basically battlefront 2.

The company in the game is not required at all and is only needed to get acquainted with the many abilities of the game + a couple of heroes + a couple of space fighters. The story itself is extremely secondary and boring. It was especially humiliating to play as Luke Skywalker, who just cut down bugs, it's ridiculous.

The arcade mode is downright dull, including the scenario, which is just for practice for multiplayer. The multiplayer is a little better, but looking at the general situation with class customization, one thing can be understood - the community lost, although it naively thought that it won. There are very few modes active online, there is an imbalance between the forces of Darkness and Light in favor of Darkness, there are few cards, and there is very little variety and tactics in battles. Microtransactions have not been removed from the game, there are two currencies, and cosmetics are not imported + there are no new updates and game support is at a minimum level.

This is not a loss for EA, it is a loss for the community. Although I played for a couple of weeks, I'm fine. For once. Glory to Ukraine!

I definitely would've hated this game a lot more if I played it when they still had loot boxes. As it stands, Battlefront II is just barely not terrible, and it's clear that there was a lot of effort put in by DICE, and the game could've been great if EA didn't rush the game out.

Pretty good campaign, although predictable and tiresome and pretty cringe at times. Really good multiplayer though, with lovely graphics and sound. But it is a bit too difficult and competitive online. So, as a casual player, prepare to get frustrated. But that seems the norm for online games today.

Has improved, but is still mediocre at best. I don't like how matches feel; the smaller matches like Blast are cool but bare-bones, and the bigger ones like conquest are my least favorite; you run for five minutes to where the battle is and immediately die to a ship or sniper or hero across the map, repeating for 20 mins. The campaign is good though.

In other EA games like Battlefield, you have a progression system. In Battlefront II, you buy upgrades that instantly make you good at the game. They said that is you used real money, you could get gameplay advantages. You can instantly win a game with upgrades, but if you don't buy them, a bunch of bozos are gonna kill you.
    freak up 3) controls
If you play a ship on keyboard and mouse, it's an absolute nightmare. One thing that you can do is keyboard and mouse on floor, controller in a starship
Honestly, I don't despise this game. But since it's EA, aka the worst company in America, it's always a bad game

Solo story is fun but very short it's all about the online game. Unlike every other online shooter there is no hiding in a house for 15minutes before you do anything, there is no hoping you find a decent gun, there is no worry of running out of ammo, it's just more full on then any other game. Nearly all the problems that came with launch are gone, loot boxes are gone and replaced with a progression system and this all takes place in beautiful enviroments that are all easily recognisable from the films, best lightsabre fights you will find anywhere when two good players face off. If you dont give this a go it's your loss not mine edit: 22/11/2021 played Halo but this game is still more fun Expand

I'm reviewing this in 2021 on the Series X.

Pros - Graphics and Star Wars look and feel is fantastic. I can't emphasize how good the intro sequences are when you are blasting rebels in corridors - it feels like you're exactly in the original trilogy. - The sounds of Star Wars is spot on. Voice acting is very good. - The campaign feels like it's very high quality - Smooth 60 fps

    - The sounds of Star Wars is spot on. Voice acting is very good.
    - The campaign feels like it's very high quality
    - Smooth 60 fps gameplay

    Cons:
    - Shooting is not very accessible on console. The reticle is basically a dot, which unless you are very good at the controller, you will end up missing a lot of shots by a hair, even with "aim assist turned on". Every shooter should use Halo controls with big reticles - I don't know why games like this or GTA5 use the smallest dots for as it's bad for people with poor vision as well.

    - Restarting a level after dying has a 5-second delay in single-player, which got really annoying in some hard sequences in the campaign. It keeps asking you to change your cards and weapon loadouts every **** time.

    - Strafing is extremely slow, even if you're not crouching. I have no idea how to dodge in this game at all. Not a clue.

    - You are often vastly outnumbered in the campaign. In a corridor, this is fine because you can funnel enemies in a choke point, but in a forest it kind of sucks because they just surround you and your AI teammates do nothing to cover you.

    - Levels are not built for exploration honestly. There's a lot of dead-ends that are only there for enemies to come out. This makes levels very linear, but you waste a lot of time checking out these alternative paths and they all lead to nothing but dead-ends. In the more open areas, exploring too far off the beaten path just threatens to kill you in 10 seconds. Wonderful EA. Just Wonderful.

I can't even comment on the microtransactions - I haven't even tried multiplayer - but the single-player campaign feels compromised by the multiplayer aspects of the game.

The people who gave Star Wars Battlefront II a negative review need to come back and have a play of this game now. It has changed so much since launch day that it really does not deserve the 1.6 user score for the amount of effort the development team has put in updating this game to its true potential. It is so fun now and I have put well over a 100 hours in this game. Galactic Assault, conquest and heroes vs villains are the best game modes in the game and its what I put my hours into. As a massive fan of Star Wars, this is a dream come true. You can play all your favorite characters in star wars and use the variety of different blasters and vehicles to defeat your opponents. Boba Fett is my favorite villain just because of the fact that it pisses so many people off. The amount of salt they accumulate in the messages they send to me is so funny and I would definitely recommend a try of Boba Fett. My favorite class is assault along with the specialist at times depending on the map (hoth and crait are the perfect maps to snipe people) which are just so fun to play. Star Wars Battlefront II can be describe as the star wars version of battlefield and I absolutely adore it. Overall, definitely worth a buy. Expand

Yes, it had a bad start, and yes, EA loves to cash grab, but the gameplay is actually pretty good. The OG Star Wars: Battlefronts from 2003 and 2005 are better, but it's still a pretty good game, and we should appreciate how much effort they put in to make it a better game.

Right now in 2021 we can say that it is the best Star Wars game. Its multiplayer is fun and it always makes us with my friends cheer as we were 10 year olds back in the days. I personally liked the story and the resurrection dlc too. Hectic and looks amazing, nothing brave but it is very enjoyable, which is the most important thing. I'm so glad it has a renaissance and that we are part of it.

Battlefront II is fan service and little else; much respect to the craft, the attention to detail and the wealth of content, but sadly it just isn't enough. It's starting to feel as if Star Wars simply isn't a franchise suitable for this type of sprawling, large-scale multiplayer experience. It doesn't have it in its bones, and if DICE can't find a way to make it work, we're fearful nobody can. [Issue#195, p.72]

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will go down as one of the biggest screw ups in video game history. EA and DICE had the easiest job in the world and completely ruined it with the absolutely ridiculous and downright unacceptable progression system for multiplayer. Combine that with the incredibly boring, lazy, and cliche story campaign and you easily have the biggest disappointment of 2017.
