    This game is amazing, It's as I remembered from playing it on the game cube. The updated graphics and soundtrack really pull it all together and I heavily recommend it for anyone who wants to relive nostalgia or has a child they need to entertain for hours on end!

    Fun and exiting for those that grew up with the original, while staying true to original content and providing people with plenty of nostalgia and joy. Good gameplay and graphics even for the standards of today regardless of what some may say, overall Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is a wonderful experience for anyone of any age.

    This is one of those games that does everything fine enough, but without anything memorable. Further more, if something was memorable it wasn't because it was good game design. You remember it because it was designed in such a way that it's frustratingly annoying.

    The goal is to collect golden spatulas so you can progress to the next set of 3 levels which you get to by beating a boss. You remember it because it was designed in such a way that it's frustratingly annoying.

    The goal is to collect golden spatulas so you can progress to the next set of 3 levels which you get to by beating a boss. The levels itself are themed around areas you would find in the SpongeBob cartoon. This is where the game is at it’s strongest, exploring the world of one of my top 5 cartoons was truly a blast.

    The levels themselves are simple. Jump on the platform, smack that robet in the face and collect the shiny things so you can buy passages to collect more stuff. You can also just straight up buy them from fake Mr. Krabs. These shiny things are really to collect and are pretty much infinite, making this process relatively painless. Sometimes the level presents a gimmick robot, makes use of switches or a slide is present. These tend to be very simple and don’t present much of a challenge. Whenever a character asks you to collect stuff for them, the “where is that damn last item”ites comes up quite frequently. For the most part though, it’s fine. Some puzzles are more fun than others though, but if you don’t go for full completion this doesn’t matter since you don’t need everything to beat the game.

    Where this game does drop the ball though, is in clear design what is ground and pit. Sometimes I jumped on ground that I’d swear I should be able to stand on but straight up perish. Other times I experiment a little and I can stand on that ground. There’s nothing there and I literally have to jump into a pit to get back into the level… but hey, it’s something. Oh, and SpongeBob and friends can’t swim. All of it. Doesn’t matter if it’s an actual pit or a fountain, you’ll go back to your checkpoint. Especially in the Jellyfish field this is very jarring. There are these small rivers that you would assume aren’t that big of a deal, you’ll have to jump over them.

    All in all, there’s certainly a great time to be had for adults, this is a must have for children. I would’ve loved this game as a kid.    … Expand

    I downloaded these SpongeBob Battle for bikini bottom rehydrated on my Xbox One and I got the game on my Nintendo switch I had the game card of it

    A super faithful remake of the cult classic, SpongeBob BfBB Rehydrated is a must play for anyone who was or currently is a fan of the franchise. Even non-fans will be entertained by the gameplay, and with nostalgic music and visuals that set the standard for any future SpongeBob games, there is no reason not to check this game out on your platform of choice. I know I'm ready for more!

    The game is magnificent for its platforming genre so you will find it a 10/10 if you haven't played any game of the high-level platforming genre in the past (e.g the 3D Mario games or other derivatives like A Hat in Time).     This game is perfect for exactly what it is, very refreshing and very fun. Only thing I hate is 'big business" bashing games with inaccurate reviews. This game is awesome and would absolutely eat up Spongbob movie game remake!!

    WOW what a name let's start with that. I don't know how many times I had to look back for a refresher to remember all that, and couldn't get it all on one title line. Big Name, but big improvement over the original. Everything you know and loved about the original game is here, and even more. If you are reading this as a fan of the original wondering if you should grab it i'll tell you all the stuff you loved is there and revamped. There is also a new horde multiplayer mode online and offline, as well as a few things taken from the original like a robot Squidward Boss battle. I played both, and this is a huge improvement. It really almost feels like a new title at times.
    You play as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy and each have different skills that will help you advance through levels or achieve goals. SpongeBob can bowl bubble or throw them like a missile at things far away. Patrick can lift and throw heavy items, and Sandy can glide using a lasso or use it to lasso enemies. She can also use it to swing from things. You will need to master all these skills to complete your objectives. You will also need them to return to levels for collectibles. So this will keep you busy even after you've completed the game. Keys and Patrick's Socks are hidden through out the levels, and you have to complete quests or just find them hidden along the way. You use the keys to open new levels. Each level has a set requirement to advance. You are never stuck looking for more keys to advance like a lot of games though. You find plenty with ease. You also collect shiny objects which can be collected scattered on the map, by destroying Tikis, or enemy drops. These are used to open some doors, buy certain things like shortcuts, etc. These are also not to hard to find either.
    The Boss battles are all pretty epic. You fight mostly robots because that is the story Plankton is making robots to take over Bikini Bottom so you fight a lot of Robots and Robot bosses. Robot Sandy, Patrick, even Squidward. There are some other bosses not robots though. All the characters you know and love are represented here, and locations as well. They all look improved majorly, and look beautiful on modern consoles. My two favorites had to be the ghost ships and amusement park. I loved using the characters special skills to compete in carnival games. There is actually a lot of variety stuff like that through out the game. So it never feels repetitive. One of my favorite side mission thing was the downhill races. Where you slide on a track , and can take different routed for better times. It's also one of the more challenging aspects of the game.
    I love the sounds as well. The music was amazing felt just like I was in the cartoon. The voice acting was stellar. I'm not sure if it was the original actors, but with Nick being involved I figure so. If not they were spot on. It's going to keep you busy for hours and hours, and that's great for such an affordable title. I can't wait to get back to it, and finish collecting the things I haven't yet and grab those final Achievements. It's just one those games you really enjoy getting that 100% on. It's also something the whole family will enjoy even the adults. The comedy and hysterical characters are just hard not to love, and that carries over into this game.

    Replay value and fun collectible collecting
    Quality voice acting, characters, and music
    Challenging platforming, but not to challenging.
    Tons of variety in game play.
    Each character feels unique/important to your adventure.

    Cons:
    Can have repetitive moments
    Couple glitches to be ironed out.

    Overall: 9.2
    Just a major improvement over the original to the point where it almost feels like a new experience. The perfect Summer family game that is going to keep everyone happy and busy for hour after hour. SpongeBob is a can't miss for fans of the original or lovers of games to play with the whole family.    … Expand

    I LOVE THIS GAME. My 3 year old Self would never thought this game would get a remaster in my life. The game looks amazing! To the characters, the dialogue and other secrets for ex, new idle animations for spongebob. New paintings in the rock bottom museum. And more I have yet to find. The level design and bosses are still the same which is the charm of this game. Though there are someI LOVE THIS GAME. Whenever you run out of lives, instead in the original game where the enemies don't spawn back, this game spawns all previous enemies, making it a hassle going back to where you died at.
    2. Loading times are longer than the original.
    3 some textures load a second after you start a new section or mission.
    4. Some enemies hit you literally acter you open a door or load in.
    Thats all for me. Overall best remastered game, Ive played, made me shed a few tears over nostalgia. 9/10

A lot of re-releases of game have come across the Xbox One, some better that others, and most bringing back games we once loved. Sadly a lot 9f them are simply re-skinned ports of the original game. Bakini Bottom is NOT one of those games, as the development team lovingly recreated every aspect of the game here and most all of these changes have been for the better. The character models are super smooth in comparison, and the new models feel more like moving cartoons that the old hard edged models. Though the developers opted out of using the real time shadows for all NPCs, ad replaced them with simple round shadows. The main character has a real time shadow, but this isn't very pretty up close. The rest of the new shadows and lighting for the environment are far nicer tag before. The world boundary was replaced in many places with a less obvious drop that the red dotted line. Rendering distance is greatly increased, and landmarks have been added to the backgrounds. the gameplay hasn't changed much, aside from the cleaner graphics lending to what feels like cleaner control. Overall if you enjouyed the original, or did t get a chance to experience it. Bikini Bottom is back in all of its glory and then some. A Must have for fans!… Expand

    The story is a little boring,game play is fine,the voice actors do a fine job but one thing that is UNFORGIVABLE is the fact that the game only has a resolution changer and NOTHING ELSE for graphics options rendering it UNPLAYABLE on low end hardware

    Wanted to start first with stating that I wanna know what drugs the reviewers at IGN and Gamespot were on with this game, because they must damn good. This game brings back so many great memories from my younger years and makes me wish for another spongebob game that can become such a classic as this one has.     It makes me happy that THQ Nordic and Purple Lamp Studios took their time to make a proper remaster with more than just a simple shiny coat of paint, and it shows in the final product. Other than the multiplayer being a slight issue, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a solid choice for any SpongeBob veteran. It's not very often that a classic is showcased so well that it even makes me reminisce of how awesome my childhood really was. I've always been a fan of SpongeBob SquarePants, from the TV Shows to their games back in the day, and it still makes me happier than Mr. Krabs seeing money, especially this remaster. Well, I gotta keep exploring Bikini Bottom to help stop Plankton!

    SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is the definitive version of THQ's two-decades old platformer, with brilliant graphics, new multiplayer modes and added content. THQ Nordic even went th extra step of re-dubbing all the voices for multiple languages, a definitely appreciated choice for non-english speaking gamers. It still brings over some of the original game shortcomings like simple level design and combat, but it definitely is one of the best 3D platformers of the gen and a must buy for SpongeBob fans.
