A colorful and varied 2D platform game, with Pang-like combat mechanics but a little bit short on longevity.

Spheroids becomes a great tribute to the Pang! saga and a must have game for those players who enjoyed the classics games of eighties. It should have a longer duration and more difficulty to become a great title.

While I would’ve liked to see a more meaningful narrative as well as more variety in the shooting mechanics, I still think Spheroids is a game I can recommend for someone looking for an intense yet casual adventure.

Spheroids is a cute looking and very playable platform game, unfortunately it hits a few bumps as it’s hampered by how easy it really can be, and the fact that it’s not as long as some might hope. There is no doubt that casual fans of the genre, like myself, can feel like a platform game king when playing; however, diehards of the genre will find it way too easy and should only apply they need a much needed break from the rest of the games out there right now.

I feel like Eclipse was definitely on to something here, and then they shot themselves in the foot. They bit off more than they could chew and had to spit something out. If you’re looking for Pang but with a weird new challenge, check out Spheroids. Otherwise, look at other iterations that tried to focus more on the core mechanics that made Pang so great.

Spheroids can be addicting, but that means your time spent with it won't last long. This type of game doesn't rely on a well-written story; it relies on functionality and an enjoyable endeavor. It has met the basic requirements for success but is not going to appeal to everyone. Like the bouncing spheroids, this game has its ups and downs. If you are looking for a quick game with a simple charm and a clear objective, this is it. If you're looking for hidden secrets and a challenge, you should probably pass.

The central concept is as mindlessly addictive as ever, while the audiovisual update is pleasing to the eyes and ears. Unfortunately the game is let down by being too short and too easy, while some unnecessary platforming gimmicks frustrate more often than they entertain.

Promising, but unpolished interpretation of the classic Pang! that needs refinement in almost every aspect.

A tribute to the 2D platform games and the Pang saga in particular. The world has been invaded by spheres that can jump and we have to destroy them with our very particular pistol. We will travel to Japan, Egypt, Easter Island and to five other locations to finish the massive attack of the Spheroids. But the game is short and it does not have cooperative mode. Beyond that, it is visually irregular.

Whilst an entire playthrough of Spheroids will only take you four or five hours tops, and nothing put in front of you is likely to test any of your gaming skills, you’ll probably still enjoy the mindless ball popping mayhem that it brings – whether or not that statement says more about me and my gaming ambitions though is another matter.

Charming, I found that Spheroids provided entertainment in short bursts. A linear Buster Bros like game with story elements and upgrades.Charming, I found that Spheroids provided entertainment in short bursts.
