Jul 9, 2019SolSeraph is a very enjoyable, well-designed hack 'n' slash title, but the town management parts drag it down a little.

Jul 22, 2019SolSeraph on Xbox One is a tale of two games. On one hand, it’s a fun, accessible strategy game that works surprisingly well on console. On the other hand, it’s a bland and annoying action platformer.

Jul 29, 2019The lack of ambition or budget is noticeable. The game does what it does and nothing more.

Jul 11, 2019SolSeraph is a love letter to fans of Actraiser and feels like it should somehow contain the name in its title. Sadly, it falls short on several areas that keep it from resurrecting the genre like many hoped it would. Ace Team continues to be a developer I cannot take my eyes off of though. Their creations are unique in and of themselves, and always entertain me even when they fall short of that great status mark.

Official Xbox Magazine UKOct 13, 2019A belated hit-and- myth successor to a SNES cult classic that doesn’t quite hit its mark. [Issue#181, p.79]

Jul 26, 2019SolSeraph mixes several genres like side-scrolling action, strategy and tower defense, but does it in an unconvincing way with every single aspect being weaker than other games in the same genres. A poor technical production with uncomfortable strategic controls and a noticeable input lag in the platforming section aren't helping, too.

Jul 9, 2019It’s unlike anything else currently available, and if you have the patience for it you might find it strangely enjoyable like I sometimes did, but also occasionally mightily frustrating.
