This is an improvement over Revelations. The most notable improvement is the ability to use a partner as a helpful tool, not only for exploring, but also for combat. The most notable improvement is the ability to use a partner as a helpful tool, not only for exploring, but also for combat. The main campaign is just amazing, creepy and the ambientation is top notch. The attempt to bring back the survival horror started with Revelations, and this sequel keeps trying, and while not being a pure survival horror title, it is one of the games that helped bring back the horror with Resident Evil 7, which is not a pure SH title either, but it is much better and scary than 5, 6 & ORC, being the 2 latter the worst games in the franchise. I liked Revelations and I liked Revelations II even more. This game is very underrated IMO, and was somewhat forgotten in time. Of course not everything is good, eg: a few characters are beyond awful, like those 2 latin american guys in the shack at the beggining of Episode 2. Another character that is decent at best is Barry, he was much better in RE 1, here is just a grumpy old guy lost in an island. The best characters in this game is Natalia, a little girl surrounded by mistery and paranormal skills, she can see things that other people cannot, and she is very clever and skilled for her age. She has a dark yet friendly personality, and she has more charm than Moira. The plot is decent but it could have been better, the music is great, and I like the calm music of the menu, similar to the 1° Revelations menu. Raid mode here is more complex than the previous game, and it adds lots of replay value, same as the rank system and collectibles. The difficulty starts kind of high (mostly cause the lack of weapons and ammo) but quickly becomes just normal (a little bit on the easy side). The controls are even better than REV 1 and they feel much more fluid, with the ability to turn around the camera so the character can be seen from the front and the sides.
    The Good (+)
+ The music, sound effects & voice acting (except Moira & Barry)
+ The creepy & tense atmosphere
+ The great level design with collectibles and some hidden boxes
+ The fluid camera and fluid controls, making the game a bliss to play (very comfortable)
+ The attempt to bring back survival horror to the RE franchise
    + The improved raid mode
+ The addition of new characters (better than REV 1 characters)

    The Bad (-)
    - Not a pure survival horror game, sometimes centered in action rather than puzzle solving
    - The lack of puzzles
    - The annoying voice acting and unnecessary swearing (Moira)
    - The annoying keyboard mapping, some keys cannot be mapped properly (e.g: switching bombs)
    - The friendly AI is a disaster, characters will stay in the middle of the danger just to get hit
    - Avoid the pc and ps4 crap version, play it either on x360 or xone
    Overall: 7.5/10 (Very Recommended)

Mediocre part of resident evil saga, which gets ruined because of character called Moira and horrible script.

Gameplay is fun, but the dialogue (especially Moira's) is horrible to listen. Seriously, did some 2-year old guy write it? I think the best was "Go jump on a Dil**, boss!" First of all that line in downright offensive, why don't she just say "Fu** you, Fa****!" Every time i

Every time i hear something as stupid as this i want to punch a wall.

Ps. "Im going to survive the FU** out of this." (WHAT? Who talks like that?)

Solid side entry into the Resident Evil universe. Gameplay was pretty fun. Controls were fine and I liked the inclusion of co op. Only detractor was the graphics were subpar and the hud didn't look very nice, but once you get into the game, you kinda forget about the visuals. Hope they continue improving the Resident Evil formula in future titles.

It's a mixed bag that is very hard to justify for resident evil fans. With friends it's a thrilling zombie rush, however at it's roots it fails to be fun and feels more like a chore. Why am I moving another box? Raids Mode is mediocre, the story gets it right occasionally. A somewhat disappointing sequel to an excellent spin off old school resident evil. It is a fun game to play, but unfortunatelly it feels a little generic and this is not good if you are speaking of a RE

Decently spooky and with interesting plot elements (generally, actually I have questions) the problem I had was the control imported from generations past, also there were some cheesy death traps that weren't fun on replay, they were just annoying.

A blend of Resident Evil old and new, Revelations 2 does itself, and the franchise, justice falling a little short simply due to a couple of poor episodes. [Issue#123, p.77]

Revelations 2 offers an engaging story that doesn’t take itself too seriously, enjoyable co-op multiplayer, and a worthwhile reason to revisit the game thanks to its surprisingly addictive Raid Mode.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a pretty good entry in the series from Capcom. While the actual horror elements, barring some jump scares, aren't that common, you'll still feel a bit spooked out in various moments of the story. For those that want action, however, the Raid mode is by far the star of the package.
