Easily surpasses the previous entry and is a blast of a game with a solid mix of the campaign horror and puzzle solving from older entries but with the mix of action that the entries since RE5 have brought us, and an added bonus that you don't need to have played the previous 'Revelations' game to jump into this one. The story isn't too over the top but the eccentric characters are exactly what you would expect from a RE title. The first 'Revelations' game got to be a bit much and seems to drag on, but this really does blow that out of the water and even though it is an episode themed game it doesn't have that feeling of trying to hard to be a TV show. The 'Raid Mode' is where the replay really shines here, which is a co-op style of what was previously known as 'Mercenaries' but with a total emphasis on the leveling up of unique character abilities and even the collection and customization of weapons. The game looks amazing and stays at such a smooth and beautiful frame rate, easily surpassing several other full-priced titles out now. At the time of this review the online co-op for raid mode had not yet been enabled but does support split screen play as well as further game enhancement for those registered to residentevil.net which tracks gameplay and offers more bonus items. Very close to a perfect entry in my eyes; the only thing that would make this game better would be more of a range of weapons to be found in raid mode, which in the previous 'Revelations' entry it was a seemingly endless amount of a variety of guns whereas in 'Revelations 2' its very quick you notice you are finding the same weapons over again just at a higher level. A great play for action or horror lovers and a must own for any Resident Evil fan.

Rev2 is a great mix of action and horror. I think it's better than the previous Revelations that was already very good.

Playing two characters at the same time felt strange at first until I realized how strategic the game could be if done correctly. I didn't get lost in the maps as I did in Revelations 1 which is something I appreciated (but this is really a matter of personal opinion

We travel into very different environments much like RE4 and I really enjoyed the characters. I particularly appreciated Moira and her evolution through out the campaign.

The game is a very good mix of action and suspense and I really hope a third installment will happen soon!

This is an improvement over Revelations. The most notable improvement is the ability to use a partner as a helpful tool, not only for exploring, but also for combat. The most notable improvement is the ability to use a partner as a helpful tool, not only for exploring, but also for combat. The main campaign is just amazing, creepy and the ambientation is top notch. The attempt to bring back the survival horror started with Revelations, and this sequel keeps trying, and while not being a pure survival horror title, it is one of the games that helped bring back the horror with Resident Evil 7, which is not a pure SH title either, but it is much better and scary than 5, 6 & ORC, being the 2 latter the worst games in the franchise. I liked Revelations and I liked Revelations II even more. This game is very underrated IMO, and was somewhat forgotten in time. Of course not everything is good, eg: a few characters are beyond awful, like those 2 latin american guys in the shack at the beggining of Episode 2. Another character that is decent at best is Barry, he was much better in RE 1, here is just a grumpy old guy lost in an island. The best characters in this game is Natalia, a little girl surrounded by mistery and paranormal skills, she can see things that other people cannot, and she is very clever and skilled for her age. She has a dark yet friendly personality, and she has more charm than Moira. The plot is decent but it could have been better, the music is great, and I like the calm music of the menu, similar to the 1° Revelations menu. Raid mode here is more complex than the previous game, and it adds lots of replay value, same as the rank system and collectibles. The difficulty starts kind of high (mostly cause the lack of weapons and ammo) but quickly becomes just normal (a little bit on the easy side). The controls are even better than REV 1 and they feel much more fluid, with the ability to turn around the camera so the character can be seen from the front and the sides.
    The Good (+)
+ The music, sound effects & voice acting (except Moira & Barry)
+ The creepy & tense atmosphere
+ The great level design with collectibles and some hidden boxes
+ The fluid camera and fluid controls, making the game a bliss to play (very comfortable)
+ The attempt to bring back survival horror to the RE franchise
    + The improved raid mode
+ The addition of new characters (better than REV 1 characters)

    The Bad (-)
    - Not a pure survival horror game, sometimes centered in action rather than puzzle solving
    - The lack of puzzles
    - The annoying voice acting and unnecessary swearing (Moira)
    - The annoying keyboard mapping, some keys cannot be mapped properly (e.g: switching bombs)
    - The friendly AI is a disaster, characters will stay in the middle of the danger just to get hit
    - Avoid the pc and ps4 crap version, play it either on x360 or xone
    Overall: 7.5/10 (Very Recommended)

Huge step towards the right direction. Plus it's great to see Claire back after friggin' 12 years. Raid mode is also awesome. If capcom wants to please both action and survival horror fan base, all they need to do is to make a survival horror RE (like most players want) and add raid mode. Simple.

A good stand alone game a lot like the other resident evil revelations good story and game play but what's best in the long run will be raid mode you could have hours and hours of gameplay in this little rpg very nice Mission based little segments full of action you can also upgrade characters and weapons for the price this is amazing value.

Defiantly the best I have played since RE:4 on GameCube. The story so far is great and keeps me glued to the game and also the mechanics are really good. I have the original on my New 3DS and love it! This is a great followup to that franchise.

Mediocre part of resident evil saga, which gets ruined because of character called Moira and horrible script.

Gameplay is fun, but the dialogue (especially Moira's) is horrible to listen. Seriously, did some 2-year old guy write it? I think the best was "Go jump on a Dil**, boss!" First of all that line in downright offensive, why don't she just say "Fu** you, Fa****!" Every time i

Solid side entry into the Resident Evil universe. Gameplay was pretty fun. Controls were fine and I liked the inclusion of co op. Only detractor was the graphics were subpar and the hud didn't look very nice, but once you get into the game, you kinda forget about the visuals. Hope they continue improving the Resident Evil formula in future titles.

Very good survival horror game. One of the best of late. Fun gameplay, good , spooky atmosphere and decent story telling (somewhat unique). A definite step in the right direction. I look for more like it from the franchise. If so, I'm in.

It's a mixed bag that is very hard to justify for resident evil fans. With friends it's a thrilling zombie rush, however at it's roots it fails to be fun and feels more like a chore. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is one of the most nail biting gaming experiences I've ever seen. This game will make hair stand and skin crawl.

A Suspenseful story, complemented by a dark and dingy backdrop made progressing absurdly uncomforting. Each corner, each doorway and ever flickering light had me on the edge of my seat. It is truly one of the best of the franchise.

Mantem muito do clima do jogo original, com um bom gameplay e bastante extras. O Spin off revelations foi uma boa para a serie. Personagens, ambientação e desafio contribuem para este ser um bom Resident Evil.

Decently spooky and with interesting plot elements (generally, actually I have questions) the problem I had was the control imported from generations past, also there were some cheesy death traps that weren't fun on replay, they were just annoying.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this game, and it brought all feelings of nostalgia as I was playing it. The first episode reminded me of the old Silent Hill days when exploring was king. Pros-
Fun storyline with plenty of Wesker madness
Great combat with punchy guns and explosion bottles
Switching characters reminded me of RE zero
Nice locations with tons of atmosphere
    Plenty of automatic save points
No part of the game bogged down
Inventory passing was streamlined and perfect
    Raid Mode rocks even more

    Cons-
No real scares or frights (needed more adult level horror)
    Enemy variety was lacking
Profanity was a little over the top with no real purpose

Game content- 8 out of ten
Fun Factor- 10 out of ten

This sequel features a campaign that can be played cooperatively and an improved Raid Mode. It's a darker installment with less cheesy humor, less action and more of a survival horror feel. The bonus content is great. Overall, very different from the first "Revelations" and better too. I would rate it with an 8 out of 10.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a pretty good entry in the series from Capcom. While the actual horror elements, barring some jump scares, aren't that common, you'll still feel a bit spooked out in various moments of the story. For those that want action, however, the Raid mode is by far the star of the package.
