Poorly developed game. One more for the Capcom collection. Capcom is looking to turn RE into fortnite, overwatch ... They put lootbox, an online casino, to hook kids.

A technically buggy mess that no-one, literally no-one asked for. RE: Resistance is just the latest in a long line of ill-conceived 4 vs 1 "games" that studios are able to crack out for almost no cost. They doubled-down on this awful idea by adding microtransactions too. I expected so much more from Capcom.

Recycle a few environments, tack on a few new items, and some new enemies and voila!

The gameplay is slow, it lags like crazy, matchmaking doesn't exist and it's so imbalanced Masterminds above level 2 are near invincible.

The upgrade system is so slow it takes hours of grinding to progress just 1 level, probably longer if you lose all your matches. Your average "win" (you don't win in this) will probably net you about 2300+ points, about 7% to your next level. Assuming you win (you won't). And that's just at lower levels, no idea how long it would take if you do grind to higher levels. Don't care if I'm honest.

It's probably so they could drive up demand for microtransactions, they're literally pay-to-win upgrades for your character. And progression is unique per character, costing you, even more, time/money.

No discernable plus points, nothing good to say about this at all. Soundtracks decent though, at least you can enjoy that while sitting in a menu for 15 minutes at a time.

Also, no cross-play? Seriously!? Thanks to that awful decision the game is already dead on XBONE, no point even considering looking at it. I loaded it up one afternoon and was the ONLY PLAYER ONLINE. several refreshes of rooms found zero players.

Any positive reviews are likely from players who only played as a Mastermind so should be taken with a sizable pinch of salt, or from Capcom trying salvage this complete disaster.

Now we know why it was included for free with RE3, no sane person could ever contemplate paying cash for this, it's easily one of the worst multiplayer games ever.

We could have had Outbreak #3, instead, we got this. An idea so bad it should never have made it past the initial pitch. I'm now off to invoice Capcom for my wasted time, I feel they should pay me back for playing this mess, free or not.

    Only gets a 0 cause I can't give a lower score.

This game was shoehorned in to justify a $60 price tag for RE3. It’s clear where their heads were considering there’s a ‘Road Map’ and Booster Pack microtransactions. It feels like Capcom is trying to dip into the Live Service pool. Had RE3 and Resistance sold separate for $30 each, Resistance would’ve sold far, far less and Capcom knows it. Absolutely pathetic game no one asked for. Once again Capcom is trying to create a multiplayer in order to milk players more and more. It lags as hell because Capcom doesn´t want to pay any money for dedicated servers. The game is unbalanced and the master mind is overpowered.
They added this piece of unfinished crap to the main game in order to charge you full-price! Impertinent!!

This game is garbage, is lags like hell and then you die. You only play as survivor other very extreme players get to play as mastermind. Queuing time for master time took me 30mins and found no one.

This game is just a cheap copycat to DbD.

RE deserves much more creativity than this crap!

Extremely disappointed. Matchmaking is broken on Xbox. I'm literally unable to play as Mastermind (Can not find any players to join) - and when I play as Survivor it's bugged and lagging so bad, the game is impossible to win. I regret buying Resident Evil 3 - but I thought this would be a saving grace. It is not. Do not buy.

Trying to play this game as of October 2020 is a nightmare. Survivor rounds are way too easy to get through and Mastermind is nearly impossible since most of the time the Survivors outrank you by dozens of levels. There are so many other issue with this game other than this. Unfun and not worth a single cent.

Playing as survivor is impossible if the mastermind is in the double digit level area, regardless if other survivors are higher than them. It's retardedly easy to accumulate enough points as the Mastermind to send the Tyrant or Nemesis in the first round, you'd have to be a complete newbie or just outright merciful to survivors for them to win. I may like a challenge, but at least it should make it where I can use a good weapon against them, a pistol or shotgun against them is like shooting a robber with a rubber band. IT'S **** USELESS! As with the abilities, you should be able to use it every 10 seconds because 60 seconds is WAY too long for a round of 2 minutes unless the previously mentioned is happening. 1/10 would NOT recommend this game

Just to make it clear, I also played Umbrella Corps and felt it couldn't get any worse than that heaping pile of manure. Capcom proved me wrong.

Resident Evil: Resistance on the Xbox One is a game that has released too early. Lag, matchmaking issues, unbalanced gameplay, a lack of content: all the major multiplayer issues are here. When it does work, there is fun to be had as a Survivor – despite being at a disadvantage – or when chasing down Survivors as a player-controlled zombie. But there is a lot more that needs to be done here, and quickly too, before the timer runs out on this multiplayer game.

Clearly the best multiplayer outing for the Resident Evil series yet, it is nonetheless held back by some long lobby wait times, lack of ability to non-verbally communicate with team mates and an overpowered Mastermind suite. When things come together the gameplay is fun, though nothing revolutionary, and it even manages to carry over some of the tension found in the main games, so I really hope a solid community builds up going forward.

Project Resistance is overall a good companion online mode for the Resident Evil 3 remake rerelease, so be sure to check it out if you pick it up. Fans of Dead by Daylight should give it a try since it has a similar overall setup to that game, but it's very much its own game. At first Project Resistance doesn't seem like much, but after spending more time with it and learning how to get better at it, it actually is quite a fun game.
