Project Resistance is overall a good companion online mode for the Resident Evil 3 remake rerelease, so be sure to check it out if you pick it up. Fans of Dead by Daylight should give it a try since it has a similar overall setup to that game, but it's very much its own game. At first Project Resistance doesn't seem like much, but after spending more time with it and learning how to get better at it, it actually is quite a fun game.

Clearly the best multiplayer outing for the Resident Evil series yet, it is nonetheless held back by some long lobby wait times, lack of ability to non-verbally communicate with team mates and an overpowered Mastermind suite. When things come together the gameplay is fun, though nothing revolutionary, and it even manages to carry over some of the tension found in the main games, so I really hope a solid community builds up going forward.

Resident Evil: Resistance on the Xbox One is a game that has released too early. Lag, matchmaking issues, unbalanced gameplay, a lack of content: all the major multiplayer issues are here. When it does work, there is fun to be had as a Survivor – despite being at a disadvantage – or when chasing down Survivors as a player-controlled zombie. But there is a lot more that needs to be done here, and quickly too, before the timer runs out on this multiplayer game.

Resident Evil sets out to take onResident Evil: Resistance - Resident Evil brings us Multiplayer Survial Horror in this unique Co-Op game. Resident Evil sets out to take on the likes of Dead By Daylight with their own unique style on this genre. Gameplay is offered up as you'd expect a team of 4 survivors try to escape the level and 1 mastermind who will stop at nothing to kill them. With a backstory provided that I won't spoil here. As a survivor you must navigate the level solving puzzles in each area to unlock the door to move on and ultimately escape, using points during each area to give your characters upgrades. Playing as a Mastermind is where this game starts to stand out, with different masterminds (each with their own backstory) to pick from as you progress up the ranks, you will oversee the "experiment" area using security cameras that you will use the map to switch between. The mastermind will spawn in "Cards" to the area, providing different methods to dispatch the survivors, ranging from a simple leg trap to a bio engineered zombie, to top it off you can also take control of the zombies and get your hands dirty up close and personal! The controls playing as a survivor is simple and plays as it should, however playing as The Mastermind will take slightly more practice as it will require you to keep constant overwatch and all aspects of the area and using the select button a lot more than you would normally. Nothing major to report just a little bit of practice to fully get used to Mastermind gameplay, otherwise the controls provide a nice simple experience. Visually the game looks as expected like a AAA title, with great looking characters and zombies, nice looking areas that are both dark enough to set a ominous aura but colourful enough to not be dreary and too depressing, at least until the lights go out! Overall: A solid entry to the multiplayer horror survival series, anyone bored by DBD should check this out for something unique and different and fans of RE should be checking this out also. The only real downside at the moment is matchmaking, hopefully this is addressed soon, it can take over 10 - 15 minutes to get a game if you want to play as mastermind, reports of half hour waits on PS4 are also strife. Absolutely pathetic game no one asked for. Once again Capcom is trying to create a multiplayer in order to milk players more and more. It lagsAbsolutely pathetic game no one asked for. Once again Capcom is trying to create a multiplayer in order to milk players more and more. It lags as hell because Capcom doesn´t want to pay any money for dedicated servers. The game is unbalanced and the master mind is overpowered.
They added this piece of unfinished crap to the main game in order to charge you full-price! Impertinent!!
