Remothered: Broken Porcelain might be the new horror story driven game this Halloween! With high end visuals and continual story to boot we can only hope new and greater things will come of the series. Remothered deserves to sit along some of the genres best, and Broken Porcelain makes for a fine sequel – here’s hoping the wait isn’t too long for the next entry!

If you're a fan of survival horror then it may be worth adding Remothered: Broken Porcelain on Xbox One to your list. It delivers a decent, although frustratingly confusing, narrative that is complemented by some good stealth mechanics and the deliverance of an air of creepiness and horror throughout. However, the bugs are hugely annoying and for some it is these which will determine whether this game lives or dies. Personally, I think this would be a shame, because under the rough exterior lies a bit of a diamond.

If you’re a diehard fan of Tormented Fathers, you’ll likely be the only type of gamer that will enjoy Broken Porcelain.

Overall, there just isn’t much to say about Remothered: Broken Porcelain. Almost every aspect of the game disappoints, so you tend not to focus on any one thing while playing. The story was incredibly confusing, but everything else was pretty bad, too, so I didn’t even care. It feels incomplete and not paid attention to.

Remothered: Broken Porcelain is a disappointing survival horror sequel with major performance issues.

While I know there are fans of the series, and from what I can gather, Tormented Fathers was actually a decent time, Broken Porcelain feels off to me. Perhaps it needed a few more months of development time to work out the bugs and maybe have a better optimized stealth mechanic, but I don’t think we’ll ever know. There is some complexity to the story and some decent atmosphere, but it takes a lot to actually get into it. If you’re invested in the series, this is a maybe, but if you’re looking for a horror stealth game, there are others to just play much better.

It's difficult not to have the feeling of playing something incomplete and sloppy which ultimately, despite some good ideas, does not honor the big names in the horror world from which it is inspired.

I was already a fan of the saga, so I obviously bought it as soon as it was out... And yes, it didn't start the best way but let's be fair, they fixed pretty much everything now (and there were no major bugs after just a few days) so I really want to support it because it deserves it!!
Anyway, great graphics, fun gameplay, moving story.. That's what I was looking for and that's what I got.

I liked also the gameplay which is really anxiogenous. The music and sounds are incredible, sometimes it makes me scream when I was stalked by the enemies. I think that I will buy the soundtrack too: it is beautiful! I like Jen (she is a badass), Rosemary and Red Nun are back, and Porcelain he is disturbing! Good luck with him guys! He is hard to defeat!
I played the first game too and I recommend to play the two games because if you want to understand the story I think that you need to know everything. In this game many things are revealed about characters and their stories.

Broken Porcelain may not be for everyone's tastes but I loved the whole experience! I was surprised by the high quality of the scenes and objects, and I enjoyed the gameplay a lot, even if did prove quite challenging at times…Definitely a game worth playing! Expand

ThisAs a huge fan of Remothered saga, my expectations towards Broken Porcelain were high and, despite some minor bugs, they were totally met. This game completely blew me away. The storyline is captivating - characters' backstories and personalities are amazing - just as in the first chapter. The setting is claustrophobic and makes the whole experience truly nerve-wracking, especially when you have to run away from stalkers. The visuals and graphics are mesmerizing, I think that the developers have improved them a lot comparing to Tormented Fathers: the environments and props look great, the details are well-researched and refined as well. The soundtrack deserves a special mention, it’s stuck in my head!

Highly recommend to all survival horror fans, especially if you have a taste for heart touching stories and stealth gameplay (as I personally do).

But here comes the problems. All the bad things are bugs and glitches problems, there are also some animation problems.
If they put a patch on it and fix it, it should win the best Italian game.
    I hope they fix it.
When they fix it I'll give it a 10.

To preface I played the 1st Remothered and now into Broken Porcelain. I overall enjoyed the game but there were somethings that did feel like a step back when comparing it to the previous games while some move forward at the same time. The graphics are a nice upgrade and the animations aren't as stiff as prior games in the faces look a lot better compared to the first alongside much better animations and graphics we discussed earlier. The soundtrack feels good and commonly goes well and elevates the immersion appears during the gameplay. Length of the game's story went on for longer than I expected and gave some answers to questions that I had previously. Overall can be toughed as a glitchy experience in general with solid points to its overall gameplay and polish. These were by no mean game breaing issues, but things I did notice that took me out of the immersion and suspense. There were sometimes small graphical glitches, for example as characters characters appeared in one place and then snapping to where they should be. Rarely there would sound effect's not firing which could make for somewhat confusing scenes. Overall the fights towards the end could be a bit off-puting at the end of the day. Not Scary as a survival horror story at it's common roots. I did not feel as threatened and as scared as I did when playing the 1st game of the series, you are given more tools for survival and even in the cutscenes the game rarely scares and instead gives you a focus on the the story telling. The tutorials in the game don't tell you everything, but are enough to figure your way about in a proper way, I had seen a couple of them from exploring but had no idea how to collect them so ended up ignoring them until I figured it out by accident, and spent most of the game figuring out how to access the abilities awaiting within. Upgrading more abilities should have been easier to understand unless I was just missing hat was trying to be present to me all along, having collected the Moth Keys for which I had no idea what they were used for until much later in the game. The game's plot I imagine that the plot maybe doesn't sit well with a lot of people, Yet II did find myself quite enjoying it enjoying it and being engrossed in what was being told. Twists that I didn't really expect because it felt a bit strange when thinking of the first game, however, after sitting with my thoughts about them, they do make sense in some way. Only issue I have with the plot is there is a lot of jumping around from past to present which to some may kill their immersion a bit, but you don't spend as much time being chased or sneaking as previously found as enjoyable moments in the 1st game., Often ways I could just randomly jet past the enemies and try and make it to the next 'safe area'. I, on occasion, found myself being trapped in a corner by an assailant which I could not get out only a few times, but this happened like rarely and didn't overly ruin the gameplay. The Moth Eye ability is cool idea, but is awkward to use and is very rarely utilized unless the situation called for the action on your Xbox One while working your way through the store. Overall not amazing not terrible. It's a decent game worth tasing time to enjoy it.

TL;DR - I enjoyed this game, and would recommend it. It's nice to have a continuation of the Reed's story but at the same point it doesn't feel like it lives up to it's horror ceiling as demonstrated with the first game, accompanying story elements that gives Reed's story an ending that I did not expect but still welcomed.
