The problem with this game is just that it is too short and far too easy, i found myself not two days after launch having achieved 100% completion (i would by no means consider myself much of a professional when it comes to fully completing anything) and left wondering what to do next with no other options within the game. Because of this, i was quite disappointed as the game and obviously the episodes in between were all very enjoyable and a joy to be a part of. I simply wish it just wasn't all over so quickly

The premise of time traveling and the mechanics involving time manipulation sounds neat, but unfortunately the implementation lacks. Even the gameplay is somewhat entertaining, the developer could've done so much more with the time gimmick to surprise and challenge players.

Instead, they seemed to use most of their focus to create an episode series inside the game, that show up between the chapters, using real actors playing the characters roles. However...i don't think it's a great idea to ask us to stop playing and watch a show that last about 20 minutes each episode. Need to be an Oscar material to justify and it's not. I didn't care much about the characters and the story, so i skipped most of it without any remorse.

So, the time gimmick and the series, both the differential of Quantum Break among the other third person action games, don't work the way they were supposed to. The rest is the same usual shooting sequences a la Uncharted and Max Payne, but not as fun as them.

In conclusion, i think Quantum Break It's an ok game, never bad and never great, just an ok experience during all its short less than 10 hours campaign, with a enormous wasted potential. My first disappointment of 2016.

I'm a really big fan of Remedy's games, but I feel slightly let down by Quantum Break. Not an awful game by any stretch of the imagination, but the gameplay is really formulaic and the gunfights are uninspired. It's a good game as a shooter (the covert system is useless however, you need to keep moving), but requires a huge amount of time (ironically) to read and see all the things needed to understand the story, and has some weird gameplay design choices: I can jump on a truck, but not on the truck a few meters away because is the one the block my path, or I can open this door rewind the time,It's a good game as a shooter (the covert system is useless however, you need to keep moving), but requires a huge amount of time (ironically) to read and see all the things needed to understand the story, and has some weird gameplay design choices: I can jump on a truck, but not on the truck a few meters away because is the one the block my path, or I can open this door rewind the time, but I can do it only there, all the other doors in the game stay closed. For my tastes it's too scripted and some time powers are actually magic powers, since I don't see how time can cause blast explosions of allow you to see through walls. Also the few puzzles ask you to simply press a button when standing in a scripted position and then run... Timeshift and Braid use the time in a better and less scripted way.
You'll like it if you like heavily scripted, story-driven games filled with an insane amount of collectibles needed to be read in order to understand the story... and no absolute replay value.

Disappointing.......I thought this would be, maybe unfairly, the successor to max Payne.......... nope, not even close.....

    -controls feel loose and disjointed...
-guns lack impact and just are no fun to use
-slow Mo mechanic is not as fun as I thought........ max Payne series.... even 3.....are way better

Buyer beware....... do not think its next-generation max Payne.....

This has been done so much better before in a game called Singularity. This game has excellent acting and an o.k. story but very little game play. The fact that you have to stand totally still and look at the speaker to hear the dialogue is game delaying and annoying. The game is ridiculously short for what we pay for games now. Not anywhere near a masterpiece as some are calling it.

Summarising this game I'd use the word mediocre. The Powers you have are cool but are pretty similar to eachother and the action turns bland pretty fast. You do have some choices to make but none of them matter in the end. Add to that the bland and boring gameplay and the ridiculous amount of time wasting walking slowly and rewatch unskippable cutscenes if you die, a replay is out of the question.
If you really want to see the cutscenes from the other choice you are better off watching it on youtube than playing through this game again.
The story is not bad but it's pretty "meh".
As for any good words about this game all I can say is the game does have some nice lighting and it looks pretty good despite an upscaled 720p, it lacks some of the nicer reflections and shadowquality of the pc version but otherwise a pretty good looking game. The motionblur is less prevalent compared to pc because you sit further away from the screen. The acting/voice acting is top notch.
I gave this version 1 point more than the pc version as it is running as expected on console. It is optimised for the console and you can't fault it for not running at higher frames and resolution considering the crappy hardware in the console.
Still it's definately not a buy imo at full price, wait for a sale, used copy or "free" with games with gold.

Despues obviamente los he usado, y he sentido el juego igual.

    Animaciones horrorosas.

Nota 6.5

Quantum Break is a letdown in too many areas. Though the gun-play is solid and the Time powers are fun to mess around with, everything else falls flat on its face. The story is boring, the characters are boring, and none of your choices affect the story in a meaningful way. Don't buy this pile of sh*t, buy Halo MCC or Sunset Overdrive, but not this.

I've played about half way, put it down the other day and no urge to pick it up again. It's not addictive. Not compelling at all. Just very 'gimmicky' and a novelty until it wears off.

Puzzles seem like filler not real intelligent puzzles. The upgrade tree is nothing like To,b Raider or Witcher 3. Just a token upgrade of powers and thry tend to get boring after a while.

You feel like you're in God mode. Nothing challenging.

Maybe it's just me but this game did nothing for me, didn't addict or captivate me or even make we want to go back to it. The puzzles were so pathetic it would have been better not to have any.

Graphics nothing special. Can't really recommend it over the latest Assassins Creed or Tomb Raider as they are top notch games with plenty to do. This seems very linear and scripted to the point it feels very, very short. Not worth the price of admission. I would get Far Cry Primal over this as there's a lot more to do. This half simple Simon shooter, half simple Simon story doesn't really do it for me. If that changes I'll come back and give it higher but for now I'm disappointed. It doesn't do any one thing well.

Nothing done really well except the hype.

If they were going for cliches and Nissan advertisements, they nailed it, but a mediocre television show isn't a game. The actual guts of Quantum Break are almost more of a letdown when you consider the theme of the game is time travel. We could've gotten awesome puzzles and more daring editing with the fractured timeline stuff and perhaps new mechanics or scenes that really highlight that what you're doing is time stuff, not just a samey and uninspiring third-person shooter where your cardboard cutout protagonist sluggishly non-walks or non-runs around, bumping into time things... It's not very long either so you're left with the feeling that you just dealt with bad prime-time cable TV and ran around shooting at big dudes and all you have to show for it is a bevy of very easy achievements and a dilemma of how you can wring more from the game to justify paying anything over $40 for it. As for the dialogue - I'm no prude but do the actors really have to say F*&k so much?

Negatives aside - I'm loving the story and the attempt to marry video game and live action TV show should be applauded and not criticized. So what is left of Quantum Break if you take away all the cool visual effects, and the player's ability to control time ? a bad third person shooter? a wast of production money? no , it's a big sign of disappointment from all the players who bought this overhyped game. I like the innovation between it being a video game and TV show, but that's practically the only thing I like about it.

The acting is okay, but it seem's like they're trying to hard. The gameplay is nothing special, more generic than unique. Very repetitive mission's structure, and only two outcomes at the end of those missions.

The story does an actual good job with time travel but I won't spoil the details. It adhered to how we think differences would work between changing the past and the future.

There are environmental puzzles where you can manipulate time but essentially you use your "detective view" to highlight a location where you press Y and solve the puzzle. Lots of cutscenes and also an interesting live movie element that plays occasionally. Combat is cliched and nothing you having seen before; you go into a large location with the usual arrangement of cover obstacles, red barrels, ammo packs, etc, then you kill all the bad guys before moving onto the next environmental puzzle. Also dotted around are laptops and files which all happen to be open at an email which fills in the plot. The characters are also quite dull. It's a very linear game that's also short. You can unlock branches that lead to slightly different replays but honestly I'm not sure that you'd want to bother. It's a real shame as the concept is interesting and the production values overall are very high, but the actual gameplay is nothing you don't get in any other game of this type and is often quite boring. Some nice easter eggs, such as a blackboard showing the motivation behind "Alan wake" and a funny time-based screenplay you find on one of the laptops. To be honest I would have preferred to have played the screenplay instead of this predictable, cliche ridden game. Expand

The deal-breaker is tv series intertwined in the game. It's not bad but it is out of the place. It only reduces the pace of the game and sometimes bores you. These story arcs should have been presented in-game and not as a 20 minutes long movies (after first 4 acts for the total of about 80 minutes).

The story and characters were interesting and likable however not all of them were believable. I like the idea behind the story and it kept me going to see the outcome which pleased. The ending pointed to potential sequel which I guess is unlikely considering game's reception.

Game is using very bizzare rendering technique which makes everything look very grainy. It grows on you and I liked it considering game's setting with time breaking down. Animations are superb and probably the best in any game as of now (what a welcome feature coming from ME: Andromeda). Voice acting was excellent.

I believe game's bad reception was due to it being 12h long game, out of which at least a third is tv-series and cut-scenes. Lack of multiplayer didn't help.

I definately recommend it, especially if you can pick it up at such a low price as me (15$). I'd rate it 7.5 if it was possible.

Using Joyce's powers is a joy, the shooting is a bit shallow but it still does the trick and deciding how the series will "change" is interesting. The writing isn't all that great, but the action moments and the actors manage to convince you to stay, towards the final acts.

The thing is, aside from that, everything is just 'OK'!
The story is bad on the first 2 acts, picks up on the 3rd and gets pretty good on the 4th & 5th, but it's all just TOO bonkers, without actually trying to explain it to you, in a cohesive way. There are files and audio logs spread around areas, but it's TOO MUCH reading and, quite frankly, it's all very uneventful and boring. In the beginning, the series' parts were weird, as if it didn't know what it wants to be. Some events happened out of nowhere and the whole time travel thing seemed empty. Things take too long to happen and when it does, it's too late.
Also the game has some pacing issues. It seems unsynced and unconnected, sometimes. At times, it felt a bit buggy. It lacks challenge and checkpoints were badly done.

Despite the hollow identity crisis that Quantum Break suffers from, gameplay is still really fun and characters are actually well portrayed. I won't recommend it, but if you have Game Pass, try it out! Just don't expect anything beyond an standard experience.

Ahora comenzaré a argumentar mi postura.

This spiritual sequel to Alan Wake is a hybrid of story-driven action game and a TV show. It's only about 8 hours long. The live-action episodes have the quality of a network TV show. Fans of Detroit: Too Human and L.A. Noire might enjoy it. The game looks fantastic, although there is stuttering and screen tear on occasion. Some might be disappointed with the lack of action. Overall, I would rate this with a 7.3 out of 10. Expand

To achieve this aim, the kinematic where most of the script unfolds are played by real live actors, what has been the most discussed point of this game. Due to this, the game was not very well welcomed among the Xbox community. However, the game is not so bad and is enjoyable.
The gameplay seems to be like the one we can find in any other third person third person shooter. However, It's way more than that thanks to the abilities that allow us to manipulate time in many ways. Definitely, this makes the game experience fresh and unique. Despite altering time is really cool, gunplay is a bit uncomfortable and hard to get used to.
Visuals and audio effects are great, and really enchant the game experience till the point that we really think that we are on a movie. It's clear that the sensations developers wanted to send are really worked out. In general terms graphics are impressing (Moreover if we play on an Xbox one X), but sometimes it takes a bit to load textures.
The real action short films, which are the most outstanding point of the game, are honestly too long and don't fit very well. It's true that they're really worked out and the acting is great, but unfortunately are unnecessary.
Quantum Break is far from being one of the best games of Xbox One and the generation. However, it's one of the most ambitious one and worth playing it for sure.

Microsoft's take on the PS4's successful Quantic Dream-series. It looks good, the story is nice, the cinematic elements look great, but the dramatic arc of the whole game is suffering. And the end boss is way too hard considering the whole game.

Some of the characters are good but others are very forgettable.
The game at the end of the day is short and far from being challenging but a fun and decent experience.

In this review, only the negative aspects of the game are considered. The purpose of this work is to help you to get a better decision on the purchase of the game

    My Rating: 7 of 10

    Weak points :
    - Game is short and finishes very soon
    - For an exclusive Xbox game, it has less potential and you may be disappointed
    - There are major glitches in Physics of the game

Quatum Break is a game of opposites. Innovative gameplay mechanics, facial animations that come across well and beautifully detailed environments. The pace of the game is also continuously disrupted. Not only because of the weak live action episodes, but also because of small details such as respawning in places far before your 'game over moment', your main character who always walks too slow and the long loading screens. All in all a nice game experience but irritations unfortunately often take the upper hand. Expand

Nice game, beautiful graphics overall, a great concept which developpers didn't exploit to its full potential (poor impact of choices and light use of time travel potential). But don't be fooled by the score here, it's still a nice game to play.

The shooting sequences are mediocre, the level traversal is boring, the story is alright but I wish they'd have done more crazy twists with time-traveling, as it only really begun to be interesting at the very end of the game

a good game, not amazing, but definetly enjoyed those moments playing it. Also, that game is why I buyed an XboxOne, with Halo but halo let me down in this. Remedy, you guys make good games keep it up, and don't be scared to try something a bit crazier.

Its the worst Remedy game ever. I`m hudge Remedy fan , but this game has killed me. From the positive side :
    - Insanely beautifull grafics. Emotions , face animation , lipsync - top notch.
    - Game engine looks very promising : ojects behavour , tracks of bullets , etc... There are some flaws, like enemy bodies falling through the walls, but they are minor and do not break immersion. -

    - Game engine looks very promising : ojects behavour , tracks of bullets , etc... There are some flaws, like enemy bodies falling through the walls, but they are minor and do not break immersion.
    - Music is very stylish and to the point. I especially respect Remedy for very creative sound effect and music choice.
    From negative side :
    - Plot is overcomplex and you need to read gazillions of emails and other narrative stuff to stay up to date.
    - Fight scenes are chaotic and always go by the same scenario : you are running like a blind scared horse, randomly around the room, throwing left and right force fields and shoot them , hoping they will kill somebody. Everything happens very quickly and most of the time you have no time to plan the fight.
    - Abilities are strange and sometimes redundant. I was not able to figure out why you need the shield , if you have the force field that does the same , plus concentrate bullets and explodes with killing effect.
    - Controls are glitchy: time jump only works when you directly press forward and left shoulder button. If your analogue stick does not point DIRECTLY forward, ability does not trigger. This produces hudge amount of fails and you stop to use this ability unless you have to.
    - Pretty strange and not clear system of RPG-like skill improvement. You have to search for some "mist"-like clouds that are called quant-something and are randomly located over random sections of the game, and they are currency to buy upgrades.
    - You have to spam Y to be in your Time Vision all the time , in order to have the idea what is where . It is even worse then Assassins Creed or Tomb Raider.
    - To reveal the plot completely, you need to watch like 2 hours of video that you have to stream additionally form Internet. Holy God, this is over limits ! These movies are supposed to be you reward for completing the chapter, but they are very amature directed , even more amature shot and actors are kinda "yet another random man on the bus stop i see every day"-type.
    - Being on chapter 2 and talking with NPC taxi guy , i realised , that i forgot why and where we are going and what we want to achieve... Thats how bad the immersion is.
I just cant rate Remedy red , cause they are one of my favourite game making companies, thats why i give five.
But honestly, this game deserves no more than 2 and has to be re-done from combat controls , narrative pace , presentation layer perspectives.

Nice swing and a miss. I had highlighted hopes for this game back in the day but those hopes fell flat when I started playing the movie that is Quantum Break. The cinematic in this game take up most of the time- if u choose to watch them. This game couldn't accomplish what Control managed to! While QB isn't terrible, u would be better off playing Control instead.

Quantum Break is an incredible game that will hook you for its ten hour duration and stay with you long after that. The story is packed with mystery, suspense, and engaging characters caught in a high stakes situation where every decision is significant. While adding TV show may not have revolutionized storytelling, Quantum Break is a must play game for those looking to sink their teeth into a meaningful adventure.

Quantum Break is a bad movie, but a really good game. It did not convince me with its poor (and poorly told) story and characters that I did not care about at all, but as a shooter it is really enjoyable and creative. [05/2016, p.38]
