Sep 3, 2018Phantom Doctrine manages to distinguish itself from the classic XCOM formula by offering us an engaging stealth-based action model, where we need to be much more careful about our actions and tactically plan every move. It's not perfect and sometimes it feels like enemies are way over-sensible, but it's definitely a suggested buy for every lover of spy stories and turn-based action.

Dec 3, 2018If you are in the market for a super detailed, super hard strategy game, look no further. With a gripping cold war storyline up there with classic spy novels, Phantom Doctrine is a worthy game. If you’re not quite that hardcore, then possibly one of the faster paced games may be more to your liking.

Sep 27, 2018Phantom Doctrine has a lot of potential. While the combat didn’t really jive with me personally, the whole CIA cloak and dagger theme suits the gameplay and genre quite well. Oddly enough, I quite enjoyed the other aspects to the gameplay much more, particularly the base management and connecting clues together on an old school pinup board. Frustration will surely kick in at the beginning, as you’re barely taught any of the non-combat mechanics, but once you figure it out on your own, it can be quite strategic, even if it’ll be in the shadows when compared to certain other mega hits in the genre.

Sep 11, 2018All its ambitions, intelligent ideas and passion for the genre of espionage do not finish working at all.
