Othercide could use some quality-of-life improvements, but this is one of the most stylish games I've played in years, complete with oppressive gameplay that is as thrilling as it is rewarding.

Othercide is an evocative and absorbing tactical roguelike, albeit one whose style occasionally gets in the way of the substance.

For RTS enthusiasts this is most probably a must-purchase, sending them to heaven. Even for the newcomer - one who is after a challenge - Othercide is well worth a look.

While I’m not usually a huge fan of tactical RPGs, I can totally see how fans of the genre would get a lot out of this game. Between the roguelike nature of the levels and the fact you’re basically creating your army from scratch, no two playthroughs of Othercide will ever be quite the same. Provided you’re cool with dying a lot, that makes for a pretty unique experience.

The game shows too quickly what it has to offer and struggles to infuse the feeling of progression essential in this type of register, due to a slightly unbalanced structure.

Othercide has its moments but its core gameplay is so repetitive that, even with its turn-pushing twist, you’ll have to fight the grind to get any fun out of it. Its art style may be beautiful, but it doesn’t make playing the game any more enjoyable.

Cool on the surface, you’ll likely enjoy what you’re looking at. The style and idea of this evil world with female fighters who are an unlimited supply of clones is just awesome and unique. The major setback is the repetitive gameplay that isn’t varied. It’s like you’re just playing a demo for hours with no feeling of actual progression because of how many times you’ll be restarting. Without a really fleshed out story, you almost don’t have anything to really fight for. Seeing the conclusion of the story isn’t exciting because you expect it to just end without any dramatic elements in place. There just isn’t enough meat in it to satisfy your hunger. It’s a beautiful world, but not one you’re going to stay in for long.

Su estética me gusta mucho, al igual que la paleta de color, muy acertada para este juego.
Los jefes de cada fase, son difíciles y mecánicas diferentes, juego hecho para morir una y otra ves.

In Othercide, you control an army of women who are created, fully-formed, from a birthing pool, assigned one of four classes, and marched out onto an isometric battlefield to battle an army of evil doctors. However before we dive deeper in to the game what happened to the colors we know such as orange, purple, yellow and pink? Inspite the fact that game has a great story line and for a strategy game it's action full looking at a screen that's full black might give you some headaches. The combat system itself is a pleasing puzzle, mostly reliant on manipulating the initiative tracker that is a constant presence along the bottom of the screen.I actually don't personally seek out strategy games- especially turn-based ones, but some how I found myself playing Othercide for hours. I’d suggest giving it a go yourself as well on your Xbox One console. Expand
